  • If only Vincent price was cloned.

  • Hell of a storyteller!! He makes the story come alive! AMAZING!

  • A couple years ago in 8th grade, we watched this in class, and everyone kept making fun of him. I thought this was awesome. I think it's because I was the only one who even knew who he was throughout the class.

  • wow..... this story scared me

    i can't sleep at night

  • Has to be one of the most chilling stories of all time, and man did he ever do it justice.

  • I would pay a thousand euros just to see this live! Truely, both Price and Poe are the masters of horror!

  • OMG...Does anybody know name of the actor??!

  • @DKWiseman Vincent Price. If you still don't know who he was, he was the voice of Michael Jackson's Song "thriller"

  • @venezuelaluis yea? if no one know that i dont know what to say!

  • that was exactly how the story was told!! letter by letter!!

  • @shayankilla123 you think Vincent Price is boring? Watch some other things he did, or even better, listen to it.

Every word that passes his lips is so perfect in his voice. I would love to be in that class, a whole period just Price. I would close my eyes and just listen to him..

  • The best narrator ever! What a magnificent english !

Thanks a lot for your post.

  • That was very good. A chick in my literature class used this in her presentation today. she was pretty cute too :D

  • You can't beat just telling it as it is! (Or, in this case, as it was written.) Vince sure had a way with the portrayal of mania.

  • DAMN

    I love this guy

  • Great performane! 10/10

  • Cool performance, Very, Very wonderful performance! Same from the text of the book!

  • I understood more watching this than i did reading the book.=)

  • At the end it wasn't the man's heart that gave him away it was his own that made him confess. -India

  • He is the best!!

  • A stellar performance.

  • cool

  • cool

  • I love Vincent Price and Edgar Allan Poe. The ending is the best because he gets REALLY into it. This is my favorite. He gets more excited in this than Cask of Amontillado.

  • bitch be crazy.

  • brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, gives me chills the talking of that man.mad, nuts, bonquers, bananas.

  • The half-tumbler of brandy and the rose did not appear at Poe's gravesite this year. The "old man" died.

  • Vincent Price is a excellent performer for Poe's Stories! Watch The Fall of The House of Usher

  • His voice brings the story to life... haha I think I still have the chills. =)

  • What a wonderful performance!

  • i think i wet myself

  • Perfection!

  • @turandotisolde Agreed!

  • my own heart was beating with fear!!!

  • In all meanings i must say that nothing enthralls me more than reading Poes works. They are truly masterpieces all of them. But Vincent Price was a god! His acting can not be compared by anyone elses, dead or living. I love this.

  • i am having a nightmare tonight!

  • Didn't know he was such a good actor. Saw his films like Dr.Phibes and stuff when I was young but it never occured to me he was really talented.

  • I saw this same story portrayed 35 years ago on some talkshow. Darren McGavin did the reading and it was so incredibly gripping. Vincent Price does an amazing job here.

  • im surprised that not a lot of people know edgar allen poe my am lit classmates knows not of his work

  • THE END WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • whoa

  • if all short stories or poems were reenacted like this, it would make them so much more interesting. This helped me understand the story better along with capturing the moon and feeling of the story. I'm writing a research paper on this so now i have a clearer mind on what to write. Thanks!

  • @Hazard123177 he's reading (well, he knows it off by heart) a tell-tale heart...he's not really the guy...the story is a work of fiction

  • this is amazing, i got chills when i read it for the first time.

  • if edgar allen poe could have met vincent price i am sure they would have been the best of friends

  • Now thats METAL!

  • absolutely brutal!

  • I ADMIT THE DEED!!!!!!!111111!!11!

  • Edgar Allen Poe is my favorite author of all time!

  • Awesome same here, but as a poet not a author.

  • amazing!!

i love the way that Vincent Price

tells the stories of Edgar Allan Poe

he captures all the feeling in them

i love his voice is perfect

"here!!... here!!... it is the beating of his hideous heart!!"

  • I read a few poe stories that mention this 'over occupation' with sound and sights, he called it "monomania" in one tale about an obsession with a womans teeth unto taking them out , interesting the EYE and the sounds in this one, I LOVE VINCENT and this is awesome

  • when you throw tim burton in the mix of the two all ready great men, you get the BEST short movie in the world. vincint maloy. they are all sooo great!

  • God I love both men :) Vincent was awesome and Edgar Allen Poe was my insperation growing up :) I am an author/writer/poet and this is sheer music to my heart :) Thank you for the uploading of this video :)

  • There was no dismemberment in the original text. It wouldn't have made sense. He couldn't have dismembered the body without some blood being present and the odor of blood, etc. would surely have tipped the policement off.

This was STILL a great performance. I'm doing it for my 6th graders Monday.

  • Yes there was. I read it today to see. He says that there was not a drop of blood because a tub captured it all, or something along those lines.

  • oooo creepy really good heart freaked me out

  • R.I.P. Vincent Price. No horror artist better.

Loved this adaptation; it was really well done.

  • he left out a coyuple lines but wonderful perfromance!

  • Vincent: The King of Horror!

  • terror! For real! The man is too good! BRAVO!

  • Incredible. This was excellent acting. Vincent Price has all my respect.

  • This scared the mess outta people back in the day. It's a testament to how something can be extreamly effective without constant swearing or special effects. I find that when the author wants me to use my imagionation, it's scarier then anything.

There is NOBODY now or then who can do Edgar Allen Poe like the GREAT Vincent Price.

  • amazing this is way better than reading

  • No, reading the story is much better than seeing it acted out. 100 times better.

  • normally i would agree, but nothing compares to hearing vincent price act it out.

  • @melrosebeotch oh but when it's acted like THIS it's kinda hard to choose

  • Vincent and Poe, absolute geniuses in their respective crafts.

  • And they go hand in hand

  • godness, if someone's is ought to film or tape such a splendid tale, and do it with nothing else than a narrator and a good scenario, this woul be the way to do it, the heck if not. Did not you pictured every scene on your mind and felt traped by the man's madness like it was real?

An actor commited to his art, shure Vincent was.

  • Completely. A consumate actor in every respect. He is my muse.

  • Wow, he's an incredible actor.

  • vincent ; 6,4 and full of talent. yes vince we knew we knew !

  • that guy kind of sound like the guy who does the opening and

    closing of count duckula.

  • I love it, its brillinat!

  • W0000W , i thought that he did gr8. He acted it out perfectly, i would rate him at an 9...one point less than 10, because at a certain part of the scene, i would have acted slightly different. Other than that, he did gr8. =)

  • Excellent. One of my favourites from Poe, and Vincent Price is fantastic!! :) <3

  • outstanding performance!

  • lol

  • Best performance i've seen of this tale so far... but still i can't find 1 that please me totally :/

  • we read this in school same as the raven and ever sence ive loved mr. poe's work vary grim.

  • i was reading along and he may have skipped a few sentences, but the Acting was convincing. thanks for putting this up

  • Perfect!

  • Vincent Price is amazing.

  • That was so good!!!!! No body recites Edger Allan Poe like Vincent Price.

  • this guy did a good job of telling the story.

  • Good?

I'd say Godly but hey that's just because I love Price

  • i think i may very well be the youngest viewer you'll get but i adorned this video i have read this story many times and i think this man portrait it in a most awesome way

  • How old are you? O.o

  • Lol he probably just got out of the womb.

  • wth?
