1960 im australian too and i find it extremely stereotypical. people from other cultures who watch it will think that all australians are like this. its appalling. we get enough stereotyping because of our obnoxious accents, we dont need movies like this making it worse. not all australians are bogans like that. other cultures dont understand the humor because there is none. any australian who finds this funny is obviously lacking intellect. oh and by the way, its Hilarious, not Halarious.

@emmarose0013.. allot of Aussie films that have been made,paint Aussies in a positive light,like this for eg,it's a story of a family and their memories that they shared in their house in which they grew up in and how politics and cooperate greed want to destroy those memories,but they fail, because they underestimated the family and their love that they have for each other and the memories that they shared together in that house,you need to stop scratching at the surface and dig a little deeper

@TheWheelofLife100 I agree,there are many Aussie films that have been made to show the family values and sense of nostalgia harboured among the Australian people. However,to think that this film is an example of that is to look at it from both an Australian perspective and also from a surface perspective, contrary to your belief. Foreigners dont see it this way, they see a bunch of bogans. Just like when we see some american movies-We take the stereotype portrayed and apply it to all Americans.

@emmarose0013 Do you have something against apostrophes? How about you use some. I'm is a contraction of I am and so an apostrophe is used. Its (as in "it's appalling") is a contraction of it is, and so an apostrophe is used. Don't is a contraction of do not and so an apostrophe is used. In Australia we spell humour with the extra "u". "Australian" is a proper noun and so a capital should be used for the first letter. Capitals should also be used after a full stop. Shall I go on?

I'm Irish, but I think Aussie movies are the best. Funny and natural. Love this movie like a child. It was the first time I'd seen Bana (had never heard of Full Frontal), and I thought he'd be like this in real life. He blew me away in Chopper. Top bloke. Check out Noise, another great Melbourne flick. Bana's not in it, but it's very good. Up the aussies.

No, they producer's are not mocking the kerrigans, they are both sympathising and empathising with them, but they use a humorous spin to create the magic of the characters. Have you seen the movie? Because this scene does come across as a mocking depiction if seen on it's own.
