I don't know EXACTLY for this one, but my flights from central Canada to Punta Cana take 4 hours and 15 minutes on average (between 4 hours and 5 minutes and 4 hours and 30 minutes).
I flew Skyservice to Punta the day before they went kaput...so I'm with you on this one..and in a way..I think it's better they're gone.they were never very good compared to AC or AIr Transat
I am from London and been on many flights to Europe and Caribbean and I think you should all get some respect and a life, because clapping is just that... respect... for the pilots for getting you there after 10 hours of hard grafting while you sit in your chair pissing it up and eating your fat faces till you die..... long live the clapping you bloody miserable bastards.
One thing for Ive never heard, and thats people clapping after a hard landing. I don't always clap but when landing at home after a long overseas stint, it definitely puts a smile on my face. What I have generally observed though...and is pretty funny (and this isn't a jab at anyone in particular) is that some people sort look down on groups of people that do clap as being "a bit village" and that concept of touching down isn't new to those experienced travelers that don't clap- nice video 5/5
Everybody claps! Regardless of nationality, Ive been on several flights originating in the UK, Germany USA etc, and theve all clapped from time to time.... I think it depends many things but mostly mood on board.... or if there are large groups etc.... After a long flight/ Bad weather, smooth landing or finally arriving home or beginning of a holiday in the tropics escaping a harsh winter (worth clapping about)it just takes a couple people to start clapping and everybody else joins in- continued
I've never understood this habit of clapping ... Really weird ... You would think that a safe landing is the least you can expect from the pilots ... I usally try to thank the cabin crew when I'm getting out of the plane if the landing was particularly smooth ... But this clapping is really strange to me ...
I agree with your theory that the least we can expect from the crew is a safe landing, but I like to clap anyway, because flying a plane is a very stressful job. In addition, I am usually excited to be at my destination, especially if it's a vacation!
landing a plane is actually the hardest part about flying missy. flying in the sky for a bit ahah easy peasy, a smooth landing and especially coming from such a ridiculous speed, most crashes happen like this, so thats why people clap, just like "props" lol respect to land it, this is one of the things that the pilot needs to focus on, theres no "auto pilot land" the pilot does this himself! but yeah, im always looking at them weird when they clap lol makes me uncomfortable for some reason lol
i just thought about something taking off isnt that easy either but nobody claps when pilots do that because they arent at there desitination yet, so when they clap at the end its also like they are saying "thank you for getting us here safely"
The new flight simulator should be like this
