This breed i a great babysitter. Only problem is if you leave the dog and child alone and a stranger gets to close to the child. They are very protective.

@OttavianoAugusto2011 Do a lot of research before you do buy one. there are many "bad" breeders out there which dont breed for health and tempermant. I recomment the kimbertal line.. Its all I have ever owned for 15 years now. Great tempermant beauty and health.

And another thing, i must be amazing to know that if your child should ever ge lost from you anywhere, your dog would find her withing minutes by knowing her distinct smell!

My grandpa had a collie that I played with a log as a kid. One time my mom spanked me in front of it and it tried to stop her. I miss that dog.

I have a Red Doberman. When my friend brought their six month old and two year old over to the house, she turned into a little mother, sitting next to the baby just like your Sophie did. They are a wonderful breed and so good with children.
