  • How bout the transformer or power lines blowing at the beginning, no power outages from that neither?

  • @joshthesupertagger I think some people lost power nearby, but we were lucky.

  • Whoever posted this should rename this video to 75 mph winds, not 100 mph.

  • @bigazzpimp407 I based it on the news and weather channel reports from that time, not just personal judgment.

  • That's crazy! It's probably a good thing it didn't go out.

  • reminded me of the windstorm we had up here in NH a year and a half ago. how long was the power out for?

  • @MegaRicky89 never went out, can you believe it??

  • Was there damage?

  • @JerseyShore117 Just a little damage to the carpeting and the wood by the balcony door from all the rain, but nothing too bad. We were very lucky!

  • @raeny83 Yeah big time!

  • @JerseyShore117 were u not scared of the windows breaking on you,, Im a weather enthusiast when hurricane irene came thru central Virginia, the wind gust were 70-75 and i was scared of the windows breaking,,

  • @coolnick52 What are you talking about?

  • @coolnick52 oops Im sorry about that wrong person lol

  • holy shit that's scary

  • today i have a Severe Thunderstorm/No Hail/90 Or 100mph Rain/10 to 15mph Of Winds

    ON Oct 23,2010

  • How did your power stay on????

  • when i little drop of water hit you in the face at 100mph its going to hurt!

  • This video scares the hell out of me because it reminds me of a bad bow echo storm that hit two years ago... around about 2 in the morning though... I was pretty sure a tornado was going to hit; and one did, about 3 miles north of our house!

  • not 100 mph ill say 70 mph screw it lol those are 100 mph winds i can tell

  • This looks like a hurricane. Cool video.

  • wow! poor trees...especially the birds and insects.

  • i do remember this man scary as hell

  • the power definitely did go out - but they got it back on pretty quickly.

  • I would be afraid to near any windows in that kind of storm

  • You all got some strong windows.

  • Storm windows FTW!

  • @CaseRed0605 No, not strong windows. Just not 100 MPH winds!

  • i remember that i was scared cuz i thought it was a tornado so i told my mom and we took shelter under our stairs and waited a while and so we turned on the news and it said it was just a huge gust of wind and i was relived.

  • Typical Texas; always gotta outdo everyone.

  • @onehitta1 Yeah well too bad for Texas they didn't outdo anyone with these 75 mph winds. FAIL!

  • if that was me i would be in my basement crying

  • didn't have a basement... but I spent some time in the bathroom when the tornado sirens went off :)

  • Great Footage

  • Thanks! I had a lot of fun taking it, though I'll admit to being nervous when the water started pouring in... on the second floor! :)

  • @raeny83

water went in the house? that is pretty scary O.O

  • nope it said on the weather these are straightline winds

  • Straitline winds

  • no, these aren't straightline winds. these are severe thunderstorm winds.

  • Severe thunderstorm winds are usually straight line winds.

  • @dragonridley No they're not.

  • it did in frisco

  • I think frisco was the city that had the tornado in the afternoon if i remember correctly. Correct me if i'm wrong. The tornado sirens went off in plano, but there was no tronado in plano. it was somewhere near frisco.

  • im pretty sure that is a 100 mph winds because that storm had took out 3 transformers or more

  • Mordlingss Law: 3 transformers = 100 mph winds.

  • not to mention you're only a 12 yr old little kid! i was chasing storms before you were even born! i have 2 kids your age! you better stick to riding bikes, playing with transformers, and making sure you're home before the streetlights come on so mommy don't spank you.

  • 75 mph. not even close to 100 mph anywhere in this video.

  • no, 75

  • I hated that :/

  • the cars keep going because the winds aren't 120 mph. matter of fact, they're not even 100 mph. they're closer to 75 mph.

  • Notice the power flash at 0:04.

  • i live in texas my house was in a tornado it got 140mph+ to bad when i was taping it my hd camara got blown away so sad so sad );

  • Yep!

That is the kind of storm that will cause you to have to walk a block or 2 to get your Lawn Furniture back.

  • ive only been in 75 miles anhour

  • I am a storm chaser and those are not just 25-40 mph winds. I've been in hurricanes ranging from Cat 1 to 4. They are 50-60 mph with gusts to 75 mph.

  • thank you. i totally agree!

  • 100 or 45 mph this is some very interesting storm. I wish the storms we get here during the winter were much more like this often.

  • My sentiments exactly! The weather channel said 100mph, so that's what I wen't with. So much drama!

  • wow! i went through that storm

  • Comment removed

  • 25mph winds! I don't think so!

  • 100 mph winds will not knock down your house. It might blow off some shingles, though. Those winds were at least 80mph...

  • i agree at least 75-80 mph

  • @nikesocker31 imagen that with large hail and more wind and heavyer rain that what we got in arkansas one time

  • Criind-whoever told you that 100 mph winds can't knock your house down is a fucking retard.

  • I think fucking retard might be a little harsh.

Just as a side question. Have you ever seen a house blown off it's foundation by 100 mph winds? If you have, I would love to see video....

  • @criind You're a fucking idiot and so are the 2 people that gave you a thumbs up.

  • @bigazzpimp407 I'm a fucking idiot? And you the one judging people you don't even know? Who's the fucking idiot?

  • @criind Ha! lol, I knew bigazzpimp407 was a fake! I got a tornado on film, and he was saying he worked for the National Weather Service and I didn't see a tornado. Well, I was there, he wasn't, and I got a tornado on FILM, and he's saying it's not. The reason I know he's a fake is because people who work for the National Weather Service get fired if they use profanity on internet... Sorry you had to take his shit, you got a free suscriber, and a free thumbs up :)

  • @SMITEM1 You didn't see a tornado numbnuts! It was a rain shaft. Your Mother should have swallowed. You and criind need to spit each others cocks out.

  • @bigazzpimp407 Now I REALLY know your no NWS spotter, loser. Get a life! I have a pretty fun one already storm chasing... goodbye :P

  • @criind YOU are, that's who!

  • Not 25 to 45. That's about 75-80 most of the video. About halfway in there looks like there is a gust that's about 90-105.

  • I can 100% guarantee you that the wind in this video is NOT 25-45mph. There were multiple reports in that region following this storm of winds gusting over hurricane force. Sure, saying that these are 100mph sustained winds would be overstating, but saying that there were gusts to 75-100mph would not.

  • 75 mph...tops! not even remotely close to being 100 mph.

  • are you kidding? I'de say substanded 60-80 MPH winds, with 100 MPH gusts! Your crazy to think that this is nothing!!!

  • the wind NEVER blew 100 mph anywhere in this video. it might've blown 100 mph somewhere in Plano that day, but not in this neighborhood.

  • O__o

  • geez that sure sounded like a tornado:D

im surprised your windows didnt shatter

  • just wow....i hope no one was injured. Great video, glad to see you recorded it safely.

  • i mreber that day, thats when the colony got the tornado warning with 125 mph wind its was crazy

  • holy carp man

  • it was probably that very same storm that blew our fence over :(

  • i always fear rain wraped tornados!

  • hmm i lived in plano my whole life. and ive never seen a tornado, Raeny83 from what you know has there ever been one?

  • Not that I know of, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened! I only lived in that area for a couple of years.

  • I remember when Buckhead Ga got that kind of storm but ours was a a tornado.

  • Great storm. Shame the cameraman was too chicken to get closer to the window and get a good view. Thats said...I wouldn't have done it either LOL.

  • I did get closer - but the overall shot just wasn't as cool. You can't see wind unless there are objects to see it pummel... like the tree :)

  • This was not the one that set the house on fire on custer. i was driving home, i think it was later in 07...id say nov?

  • I remember that one. I think I was headed down I-35 toward Denton, right through the heart of it. I was SCREAMING for God to help me get home. Does anyone remember the one we had in Plano that actually had a tornado touch down around I-90 and Dallas Pkwy.? I think it was around 2001 or before. I had to drive without working windshield wipers through it. OMG!

  • its like a tornado it sounds like it u hear the raw we dont get weather like this in newyork

  • HOLY COW! Were you ok?

  • this was that really bad storm not too long ago?

  • As it says on the video, it was in May 2007. I posted it just a few days after the storm.

  • Did you lose power? I noticed the powerline arcing at the beginning of the video?

  • Yes, we lost power, but long before that.

I think the flash you see there was actually lightning that struck directly across the street at the TI plant.

  • The beginning of the video was a power arc on the lines. You could actually hear it.

  • Yea, see you know that it was 100mph winds as well. Some comments on my footage of that storm are of people saying that it was probably 60mph winds, but 60mph winds can't pick up a full size trampoline and throw it 50 feet which happened to my grandparents who live in plano. Our basketball goal for our pool was thrown to the other side of our pool, and we had trees uprooted and snapped and fences down everywhere. It was one of the best storms I've been through.

  • Well I hate to burst your bubble, but 60 m.p.h. winds can easily pick up a full sized trampoline and throw it several hundred feet. 60 mile an hour winds can uproot small trees and snap large ones as well. The winds in this video are NOT 100 m.p.h., but they are impressive. At the peak gust, they were probably more along the lines of 65 to 75 m.p.h. Still not too shabby!

  • You're welcome to your opinion, of course, but I disagree with you. I've been in measured 70mph winds, and these were much stiffer gusts. They actually drove the water up through the door jam of my second floor balcony!

  • Well my opinion is pretty accurate. I work for The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana. These are definitely not 100 M.P.H. winds.

  • didn't know that the weather service in northern indiana monitored the weather in plano...thanks for looking out for us. i was at a plano fire station that night and went on multiple damaged buildings AND UPROOTED TREES...the damage was not caused by winds of 60mph or less...it was way more - metal was peeled back, roofs ripped off, trailers blown into gas stations...thanks though...keep us safe with your knowledge

  • you might've had 100 mph winds in Plano that night, but not in this video.

  • 60 mile an hour winds can uproot trees! if this were 100 mile an hour winds, which it's not, it would've uprooted that tree in the front yard and tossed those cars driving by. and yes, a 60 m.p.h. wind can most definitely pick up a trampoline and toss it with no problem. if you live in Texas then you should know better!

  • this derecho was massive, and did have 100mph winds...

    great video

  • it might have had 100 mph winds, but not in this video.

  • 30mph winds can uproot a tree, it just all depends on how well the root structure is. Then the question of why do trees survive with just broken limbs when going through a tornado...same reason. The winds were 75-85mph with occasional gusts to a 100mph. Check out my video of the storm and you'll get a better idea of how strong the winds were. Although our tree did remain standing, it shredded the root ball which made the tree die. =D

  • HOLW COW!!!

  • **HOLY

  • i went through that storm

  • We live just north of Plano. The weather here is getting nuts, I'm tired of being told to go hide from the tornados in a closet all the time.

  • Is it really that bad all the time? We're moving there! We'd better duck.
