Good job with the captions, but there is one mistake that i notice towards the end. In this performance, Glinda did not sing the line "I hope you're happy". I do not know why it was omitted from this specific performance, but it is not heard. Great job and thankyou for posting!
Yup I'm deaf and I captioned those 3 clips - with the aid of a cochlear implant and memorizing the lyrics i'm able to hear and understand Wicked, RENT, the film versions of The Sound of Music, Chicago and Mary Poppins. I did it for the benefit of deaf/hard of hearing fans as not a lot of Internet videos are captioned for our benefit. Most of us do have residual hearing or use hearing aids or cochlear implants so thus can hear a bit but not understand so hence the captions.
Whoah!!! I just noticed something, and had to post again. You can see, in between the posting of the subtitles, they actually put '(gasp)' flashing before another verse, because Idina was taking those sharp intakes of air.
It just seems odd to me that a deaf person would be watching a musical. That's kind of one of the key things of a musical... the music. Can't say I care very much for Idina's performance in this one... it's just her constant gasping that threw me off.
I have full use of my hearing, but have two friends who are deaf. Deaf people rely fully on there eyesight and sense of touch. There are also performances that have sign language interpreters for the deaf. By the way, Idina's asthma flared up on this day and prevented her from having full voice. You cannot deny that she originated the role wonderfully.
there are several places you can see it. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, National Tour, London, soon to be Germany and Australia. I also believe there is a production in Japan opening soon.
hey awesome! well i captioned this too, using SRT haha check it out ^^

Oh dear God...I truly wish that the deaf community was able to hear this music for themselves because it is so emotionally envolving!

I'm deaf and I love Wicked. This is pretty cool! Though Idina's facial expressions, especially near the end, were a little weird.

Why is this so fast? I know it was at the Tony's and they had only 3 hours for all the awards and performances, but still, that was really rushed...

I love her! They are my favorite Glinda and Elphaba. Kristy Cates is my second favorite Elphaba. But Idina did breath a lot

This is an amazing video, I love this song and I adore Idina and Kristin.
WHERE CAN I SEE THIS PLAY? I've heard all the songs, I've read the script, but I have never seen the play. Does anyone know where i can? Thanks!
But anyway, the quality is good and the song is beautiful.
