I SAID,"WHAT IS THAT".THAT'S WHEN I FOUND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME.
TELL HIM AGAIN! It is not as if we asked for this chronic disease. Medications only make us WORSE!! People who have their health and strength make a mockery of those of us who have this and other ailments. They do not know what tomorrow may hold for their bodies. Great job on this video. Good on you girl for posting this. I've also run into people with the IQ of a stick because I cannot always move as quickly as I would like (or used to). I also have Fibromyalgia and some days are pure hell and just 'moving' can be an accomplishment in itself.

My father passed away 7 months ago. I left my home, packed up my clothes and moved to Mexico to stay with my mother.
As of 2 weeks ago, I ran out of my medication. I didn't plan for paying out of pocket and I have spent over what I had.
So the problem now is that i ran out of money and my family won't help because they think I'm a cry baby. I am having to choose wether take the lyrica, the tramadol or my thyroid med because I can't afford them all.

Lots of people say it's fake, or akin to hypochondria, which completely downplays what it's like. Simple Internet research would have shown you what a controversial disease it is - it also would have shown you Dave has difficulty recognizing a keyboard duster when he sees one, so a complex chronic disease is sure to be beyond him.

Also it is under investigation as an auto-immune illness, with possible viruses at play. Low serotonin and an increase in substance P as well. It strikes very healthy people too. Not enough research money or help from the government, and I don't want to wait 5-10 years before they find the cause!

My ex thought my disability was so gr8 he screwed w/his insulin to get on disability w/plans of working "illegally off books" but it backfired. Surgeons & top eye ctr in Eastern US pleaded to do the surgery but he refused til he saw the disability judge. Over a yr later, he got his disability.. 5 surgeries l8r & he was still blind w/no fix & no work "under-the-table." He was pissed! Since, he expects wife & kids 2 wait on him!

What that asshole doesn't seem to get, like you pointed out, is that symptoms can attack us at any time, anywhere, and we have absolutely NO control over it. @erikjeff1 You forgot environment. I know a girl who grew up in a health-nut family, was diagnosed, and still suffers from it so its not just eating right. One thing to be considered is the damage that was caused by this doesn't go away. Nerves don't heal themselves, otherwise everyone who suffered nerve damage would be healed and be completely fine.. I changed my diet and my outlook. While i don't suffer everyday like I used to, I still get the pains I used to have a few times a month.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. I was 19, but had been struggling with docters for over 3 years, before that. Being diagnosed didn't make anything better, I was just told to learn to live with it. So I thought about it and found 2 choices. 1.feel misserable all my life or 2.Do what ever I could to do the things I love and not let my disease get me. So I moved 200km away from my parents/studying/working/being active for other students and sing. F*ck doctors they don't know anything!

I was diagnosed w/Fibro in 04 but want to get out the truth behind it.... to all those who have it please realize that it is a symptom of an underlying illness that is much more invovled than just , as the government says, "nerves" out of whack.. had I not continued my search for answers & accepted what was told to me I probably would have died because I discovered that the real illness is ME/CFS (Mycotoxicosis); in other words your system is toxic! detox & the pain goes away!

Anyone who thinks fibromyalgia is a joke clearly needs a refresher course spent for just one hour in the body of an FMS patient. I thought this video was a well-presented informative representation of the illness. Although it varies in degrees of severity with each individual, it tends to take over our lives in a way that most without it cannot understand. In many ways, we are by far more appreciative of a good day and accepting of a bad one than those that criticize us could ever be.
I dont have fibromyalgia, but I do have Rheumotoid Arthritis, and I am in pain 24/7 - unless you are in pain everyday all day you will never understand. I think Its complete ignorance to say anthing like that.
i have had fibromyalgia for five or so years. for those of you who dont know what it feels like, well i can tell you it feels like my bones are being ripped out of my body and i live with a headache. the worst part is i cant hold my kids. i am a mother of 7 children and i cant hold my baby. i cant run outside with my kids, i cant sit for long periods of time, and i cant do simple things like bend over to tie their shoes. so be greatful for everyday because tomorrow i might not feel like living.

We all have different symptoms. I describe it as the first day of an achy flu, every day of your life. That's my Fibromyalgia. Lyrica helps, but only with some pain. Each day also I discover a new favorite food that I can no longer eat because of the irritable bowel. Speaking of which, we all know that irritable bowel is made worse by stress, and ppl like Dave; therefore, literally make me sick and give me the shits, now, who should be shot??

My father passed away 7 months ago. I left my home, packed up my clothes and moved to Mexico to stay with my mother.
As of 2 weeks ago, I ran out of my medication. I didn't plan for paying out of pocket and I have spent over what I had.
So the problem now is that i ran out of money and my family won't help because they think I'm a cry baby. I am having to choose wether take the lyrica, the tramadol or my thyroid med because I can't afford them all.

Lots of people say it's fake, or akin to hypochondria, which completely downplays what it's like. Simple Internet research would have shown you what a controversial disease it is - it also would have shown you Dave has difficulty recognizing a keyboard duster when he sees one, so a complex chronic disease is sure to be beyond him.

Contrary to popular belief, Fibromyalgia is a neurological disease not rheumatological, and arises from a mechanism known as central sensitization with a heightened response to pain. Also it is under investigation as an auto-immune illness, with possible viruses at play. Low serotonin and an increase in substance P as well. It strikes very healthy people too. Not enough research money or help from the government, and I don't want to wait 5-10 years before they find the cause!

Fibromyalgia & Psoriatic Arthritis, diagnosed 1999. I have days where I can't get out of bed because of pain & days where I can almost be "normal". I can't sit, stand or lay down for long perions of time.
I receive $9396.00 a year in disability benefits. That amount is too much to qualify for food stamps.

My ex thought my disability was so gr8 he screwed w/his insulin to get on disability w/plans of working "illegally off books" but it backfired. Surgeons & top eye ctr in Eastern US pleaded to do the surgery but he refused til he saw the disability judge. Over a yr later, he got his disability.. 5 surgeries l8r & he was still blind w/no fix & no work "under-the-table." He was pissed! Since, he expects wife & kids 2 wait on him!

What that asshole doesn't seem to get, like you pointed out, is that symptoms can attack us at any time, anywhere, and we have absolutely NO control over it. @erikjeff1 You forgot environment. I know a girl who grew up in a health-nut family, was diagnosed, and still suffers from it so its not just eating right. One thing to be considered is the damage that was caused by this doesn't go away. Nerves don't heal themselves, otherwise everyone who suffered nerve damage would be healed and be completely fine.. I changed my diet and my outlook. While i don't suffer everyday like I used to, I still get the pains I used to have a few times a month.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. I was 19, but had been struggling with docters for over 3 years, before that. Being diagnosed didn't make anything better, I was just told to learn to live with it. So I thought about it and found 2 choices. 1.feel misserable all my life or 2.Do what ever I could to do the things I love and not let my disease get me. So I moved 200km away from my parents/studying/working/being active for other students and sing. F*ck doctors they don't know anything!

I have lived in pain for many many years and these stupid cunt doctors told me it was Fibromyalgia. Well to all the people on here I'm going to do you a fucking big favour. More than any cunt doctor has ever done for me. Do your research like I did. I have found the cause of my issue is eggplant foods. Cut out tomatoes, potatoes and anything containing Solanine. Google it.

Stupid cunt doctors told me I had fibromyalgia but I didn't believe them. That is coz they are too fucking stupid and lazy to diagnose your condition. My condition was due to a food intolerance. Anyone who thinks fibromyalgia is a joke clearly needs a refresher course spent for just one hour in the body of an FMS patient. I thought this video was a well-presented informative representation of the illness. Although it varies in degrees of severity with each individual, it tends to take over our lives in a way that most without it cannot understand. In many ways, we are by far more appreciative of a good day and accepting of a bad one than those that criticize us could ever be.

i have had fibromyalgia for five or so years. for those of you who dont know what it feels like, well i can tell you it feels like my bones are being ripped out of my body and i live with a headache. the worst part is i cant hold my kids. i am a mother of 7 children and i cant hold my baby. i cant run outside with my kids, i cant sit for long periods of time, and i cant do simple things like bend over to tie their shoes. so be greatful for everyday because tomorrow i might not feel like living.

Glad to hear that YOU aren't suffering...and that FM is just part of you, not WHO you are. Well thats good and dandy for you and is good to hear when someone with this debilitating condition isn't suffering.
But those of us with FM understand that there's varying degree's of this and many of "us" are in fact suffering and we can't help that this has made us WHO we are!

We all have different symptoms. I describe it as the first day of an achy flu, every day of your life. That's my Fibromyalgia. Lyrica helps, but only with some pain. Each day also I discover a new favorite food that I can no longer eat because of the irritable bowel. Speaking of which, we all know that irritable bowel is made worse by stress, and ppl like Dave; therefore, literally make me sick and give me the shits, now, who should be shot??
