  • I AM "THE KING" I SUFFER THE SLINGS AND ARROWS FOR BEING "O'CONNELL""KEVIN JOSEPH O'CONNELL" SEE MY TWO NEW VIDEOS,ONE MUSIC ONE AND ONE NATIVE AMERICAN ARTIFACT GIFT ONE,SEE HOW YOUR KING EMPOWERS HIMSELF SAINTED IN "INDIA" AND NATIVE AMERICANS" PEACE "IRELAND"22 BROKEN BONES KEVIN"

  • Now if we had a version of this, with the strings removed, it'd be vastly improved. Dusty's voice is like silk as usual.

  • I love Dusty - a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.

But the times dictated a "pop" version of this song.

I wouldn't dare give it a thumbs down, but IMO, there is no comparison to Emmylou Harris' version with the Hot Band.

You feel it throughout your body.

  • love Dusty, her voice and her music - she was a classy lady with an amazing vocal talent

  • Dusty was a fantastic singer!

Thanks for posting this video. :-)

  • I would like to add that I think Dusty's version of "Lagen Love" is her best (so far on YT). My favorite version of this song is the one by Tennessee Ernie Ford.

So many wonderful singers; thankfully we can enjoy their wonderful God-given talent on YT. :-)

  • She loves Jo Stafford's version too! Bless her!

  • This would bring a tear to a glass eye! Absolutely beautiful and nicely filmed. Never been able to find this on cd, but it's on the BBC dvd. SHE'S THE GREATEST!

  • Beautiful voice but a mandolin and fiddle would have served her much better on this song...

  • The most beautiful song I have ever heard.

  • Great song, great singer.

  • everyone needs to listen to JAIMEE PAUL's version she will blow your mind!!

  • Another immaculate example of why she is the most emotive singer from the UK and right up there with Aretha etc.

  • Don't understand why she never recorded a lot of this kind of stuff that she ended up only performing live on TV

  • Dusty is gone, she was so much more then her am pop.

She's home. She's with her father.

    & I am a lonely man.

  • Beautiful:)

  • her irish heart singing out...melancholy at its best... luv u dusty xx

  • goosebumps

  • sela have the absolute best version...just stunning

  • Damn! She was awesome!!! Her voice just makes my heart melt and gives me the " good chills" when something like this woman's lovely voice hits my ears. It's so awesome!

  • Always loved dusty, loved this song. Check out Eva Cassidy's version. Up tempo, also very good.

  • @mwhigha Eva Cassidy's version is very good, also bekah's

  • She had a most wonderful voice.

  • Lordy, lordly, darlin', wish I could hear your beautiful voice once more. God bless, Lady!

  • Thx for posting. Dusty's powerful talent truly enriches this song. How is it that humans are so blessed?

  • @tacoram810 It's your ears that are flat

  • it made me cry

  • One of those songs, like "Summertime", which has been performed in so many different good arrangements - but how lovely to hear a live performance by the incomparable Dusty. Many thanks for sharing this with us.

  • Dusty's voice just knocks me out .from the mouth of a troubled soul comes such beauty in song. This will be played at my funeral. The JECAT

  • EXCELLENT!!

  • Thank you, gferdinandus, for posting this vid! :-)

This version brings tears to my eyes...Thank you Dusty! I have to agree with some of the other posters about the song and the way Dusty performed it....superb !!!!!!

  • Never knew that Dusty performed this song.....not the usual type of songs she sings..

  • A difficult song - beautiful melody but maudlin, self pitying lyrics. Dusty sings superbly, keeping things simple and letting the melody carry.

A very rare gem. Thanks for posting.

  • a beautiful rendition of this song!!

  • Angelic.

  • magic Dusty! so lovely

  • My fave cover of "Wayfaring Stranger" is by Emmylou Harris -- it's on seeqpod , everybody who loves this song should check it out.

But boy Dusty's performance is spectacular!

Jo Stafford, whom Dusty praises in her intro, was a fantastic jazz/pop singer with lots of big hits, but she and her husband had a tiny "garage" label, Corinthian Records, for their Christian music. The record Dusty found must have been on Jo's Corinthian label. I'd love to hear it.

  • lovely Dusty, one of my fav singers. Thanks MARY

  • Memories never fade ..they are the jewels in our life that keep forever......

  • The most moving rendition of ths song that I've ever heard .

  • try the band 'Sela' they really do an amazing version

  • @Sethtyphon Have you not heard Frankie Laine's version of this song? It has been one of my favourites for years,Cheers,Ernie

  • @Sethtyphon Almost a good as Frankie Laine's version

  • 2009 is ten years since she died. The BBC should show these Dusty Sprinfield Shows this year. I'm going to write to the BBC to suggest it and I suggest anuyone else in the UK reading this should too. Go tho the BBC website and send email, or write a letter.

  • this song always makes me want to cry for some reason, i have no earthly idea why either...xoxo

  • I've waited on this song coming to the tube for yonks. Ty very much for putting it up xxx.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this video! It is undoubtedly Dusty's finest performance! No one else can sing this song quite like Dusty!

  • @moonlightpegasus Except Jo Stafford, whose shoes she was trying to fill...but she wears them quite nicely too!

  • Nice video. The song was well done and I think that it was well filmed. The camera man added to the song with the way he panned. All around, well done.

  • What a Breathtaking Performance this is.

  • live recording from the 3rd show in dusty's first bbc series broadcast on 1.9.66

  • Glad to hear Dusty loves Jo Stafford. Judy Collins claims to have heard her 1st folk songs from Stafford's lps. That said, this is far from Ms Springfield's finest hour. I highly recommend Joan Baez' version (youtube available)

  • I disagree - I think this is a suberb live performance and intensely moving. This and My Lagan Love are among the highlights of Dusty's BBC shows. Joan Baez's version is great too, but in a completely different way. Have you heard the Eva Cassidy and Andreas Scholl versions?

  • Beautiful!

  • thnx 4 postin the video...i love her...and u posted it on my birthday too lol
