My brother is in CG, and I'm a firefighter. I would love to get ahold of the people that complain about carrying all that heavy gear. The breathing apparatus they were using in this video have got to be 20 lbs lighter than ours. Wear my good ole MSA and then tell me your fire gear is heavy. But I'm in no way talking shit here. I have massive respect for anyone that goes CG.
@IVIINT Well My brother said the biggest thing is it's one big mind fuck man. I was just talkin about the firefighting portion of this video...I was calling them bitches for saying the turnout gear was heavy lol
@JsonAre Seriously man! LOL, I was sitting here listenin to her say "Tons and tons of equipment and wearing it for 45 minutes straight." You're joking right? You're wearing LIGHT turnouts, and their breathing apparatus here is just a joke...As far as being in your gear for 45 mins straight? Cry me a river, try all night of fighting a commercial structure with structure gear on lol
@SouthernHostility13 well just because you know what its' like she doesn't, maybe that was her first time doing anything of that nature so yes the 45 would be hard. you have to remember we all start somewhere.....
@sarahvictoria2009 I didnt get the luxury of starting from the bottom, I was baptized by fire from the get go. They have the LUXURY of light gear and the LUXURY of an almost non existent respirator. From probie school to now, Its been full out nitty gritty. She is a pussy. Bottom line.
@IVIINT Not impossible at all. Look how many people graduate every week. Half of them probably think they couldnt do it at some point. Shoot, I did it, no reversion or anything, wasnt easy, but it was worth it.
Great Video, I have been a combat medic for 15 years in the U.S. Army, currently being medically retired for injuries sustained during deployments, I have gained a lot of respect for the USCG. A long time ago the Army used to be just as hard during bootcamp, I am sure the training has gotten easier since I joined 15 years ago. I just want to say the USCG looks bad ass, men and women fighting to save lives and defend our country an awesome job and skill set to have as a life trait! Thank you USC
I am very interested in being in the coast guard in another year however I am frightened of it BUT I am curious and wish to grow beyond where I am now. And I will never know until I try.
(sarcasm) so when you call a woman a pussy wow such an insult.. we have them, maybe u should call us a penis...

So you learn fight fires even if you wanna do law enforcement?
78720 1 year ago
@78720
that'd be kind of odd if they did. granted good to learn other skills but, i think ME would deal more with the range than the fire department.

No one should be nervous m. If it's something you wanna do get over it and do it. Coast guard doesn't need pussys.

This stuff will stay with you your entire life and, someday, more than likely, you will need to use your knowledge to save a life.
