  • Japan is still a small military compared to China.

  • @NorwegianCrows japan has no military.. if japan decides to militarize... well let's just say japan will once again be a force to be reckoned with.

  • it's funny how if someone disagrees with anything japanese the replies are all Fuck you Gook, or you Korean cabbage eating shithead, Which makes the repli-es bigots.

anyways, I really like the transmission and active suspension. this tank has finesse.

  • @rctsos hey fuck u man china has good tanks now as well same with south korea... i believe that the xk2 black panther and the type 99 tank are the same if not better than this type 10 tank

  • @skywiz3

k2 is fine, quite surprising, but lool type 99 better than type 10 ? that type 99 is the worst modern active tank. most of it is t-72

  • @genjurooo the new type 99km which is the latest variant is worth mentioning though because it is pretty good, since it does not carry much components from the t-72 but either way the t-72 is a pretty good tank you know. the only reason why the west think the t-72 is bad because of the war in iraq when Saddam Hussein's army used t-72s but, in fact the t-72s were downgraded and the tanks were using pre-modern rounds, if the t-72s were using modern rounds the outcome may have been a bit different

  • Imagine! Japan used to have the worst tanks in the world in WW2

  • @Hairysteed Japan did not only development of tank for WW2. But really Finland used T-28 of remain tank for 1951 from in northern Europe war.

  • @Hairysteed i dont think this a good tank for the money, it costs like 10 million dollar while the leopard 2 tank from germany only 5,7 million. The canon is also from germany its a Rheinmetall 120 mm gun.

  • its kinda stupid that news in here america allwasy cranks up the counterversy. japan aint the same as it was. in ww2 erar there was bad emperor who lead country astray. most of the time japan has been pretty cool. but every country has their dark moments. ww2 was theirs. just bechose japan has armed forces does not mean they are gonna attack you. ww2 is distand past. japanese are not warmogeres. get over it.

  • looks like japan not repeated the mistakes of the past. then again, speciality of japan has allwasy been working hard.

  • Modernize a WW2 T34 and it would beat this tin can

  • Hm, file sharing on tanks ? What if the enemy cracks those signals ?

  • I love the steering...it looks geared rather than hydrostatic like modern tanks. Look at the first scene, where it stops and turns, stops and turns.

  • It's not Korea they need to fear, it's China - because China would dearly love to open up a can of whoop-ass all over Japan.

  • @MustNotRead "a can of whoop-ass" you play wow! lol and no china can't attack japan

  • Japan has plenty of blame to other countries.

  • @rctsos It wasn't engine problem, it was with the transmission. know what the hell you are talking about before you talk about it. It was because Korea never had any experience in manufacturing tank transmissions before and this is their first attempt at creating it. You are comparing 44 ton puny medium tank to 55 ton. The Xk2 is 100% locally produced compared to the type 10

  • omg hear why go >?? 2e time

  • Chinese tanks are made from cheap plastic simply said.

  • Wouldn't it be better to just mass produce a shoulder launched AT missile? I mean, unless you fight in the dessert or on a massive plains, tank to tank combat is unlikely. All that happens in any somewhat urban terrain: a guy pops up from the roof, or from behind the bushes, blows the tower off, and that's that.

  • MBT, main battle tankette.

Small, light, packs a heavy punch. I think with 44 tonnes, it will outcompete the Russian type 90s.

  • @dishwasherman83 the T-90 is just a T-72 with ERA,and welded steal plates around the turret to make a disk shape,Its just a modurnized T-72,So really still its armour is still weak once you get past the ERA

  • i think this tank has a lot of potential.. dont get me wrong its no M1 Abrams but it think it suits japan well..

  • @JESSIEEDSELL21 Japan just needs a good tank that can out class anything North Korea or chinese built. But its armour is composite so its likely to stand up to rounds like an Abrams

  • Think this way! If Japan would change her policy, you may be able to buy this tank to replace your European Crap! Isn't it fascinating? Japan gets money to rebuild the country, you get better tanks against terrorists. It's a win win situation!

  • @NoNoSpice against terrorists ? Lol dude go get manga and read it

  • @NoNoSpice european crap?, what bad about european tanks?

  • 44 tons??? aww. how cute..

  • lokks a bit like our leopard 2.... oO

  • @Trustds07 it was made together in association with germans. It is kind of like a tweaked leopard

  • This is waste of the tax of the people. .... an expensive toy for military nerd.....it

    contradicts pacifism.

  • 現時点で最強の戦車だろ。第4世代戦車の条件を満たしている、世界で唯一の戦車だと思う。さっさと増産して、74式を退役させてやってくれ。

  • Japan today is completely different from Dai Nippon, or the Great Japanese Empire in the 2nd world war. They have learnt from their mistakes, as well as no longer being ruled by a brainwashing totalitarian government, who's main focus is for defence, as this video states. However, that us the problem... With an ever increasing and now nuclear armed threat, it might not be possible for the Japan of today to retain it's stance of having a tiny army...

  • 6.5 million dollars?!?! that's cheap!

  • @TheDearLeaderEd

MBTs cant stop Nukes being used.

  • @EvilFingers Fighting a nuclear war for most armchair generals is like pressing an Xbox button. Any country fancying a nuclear war will do only if it is the last option. Never as the first option because retaliation will annihilate the attacking country as well.

Seriously man, if only nukes were considered as the first line of defense you think people are idiots to continue modernizing conventional military?

  • @Saffronwing1 Show me an Island Nation that has an Arsenal of Super Modern Tanks, also if you think about it as well, why is it that the Japanese Navy doesnt have their own Aircraft Carrier Fleet or a Nuclear Submarine Fleet like the United States Navy?

  • @EvilFingers Brits are an island nation and have good modern tanks. Now Carriers are essentially for power projection- something forbidden by Japanese constitution because you (Americans) dropped a nuke on them and threatened them for more. Now if someone gets a space laser weapon and annihilates NYC and Chicago and then asks you to give up, even you will.

Coming to real world, Japanese need to defend their mainland country rather than waste money policing around the world.

  • @Saffronwing1 Britain has always been a World Power for centuries way before the US and Japan ever became a Nation and a World Power.

And like said in the beginning, its Pointless for Japan to have a Modern Tank, and yes Japan has the Right to Defend their country, but to build an MBT to defend their country is redundant and thats is only because Tank Warfare in a City or Town has proven Ineffective since WW2 with the Germans and the Russians.

  • @EvilFingers Excuse me? A nation before Japan? Japan has been governed as one nation for a long time in a different setup than democracy or typical kings of west. Because even my country was governed as one nation with several city-kings paying homage to 1 single emperor since ancient times.

I partly agree with the city part. but a lot has changed since WW2. You remember what happened when Russians entere Tblisi with T-90s? That's modern tank warfare: Urban surroundings.

  • @Saffronwing1 Japans version of Democracy before Europeans and Americans landed on their shores was with a Sword

Now as for the T90 or any MBT, it doesnt matter, because there always has been one weak point on a Tank and thats the Rear and since most modern tanks uses Turbines, that kind of engine is relatively easy to disable and the best tool for anyone who doesnt have an Anti-Tank Gun/Rocket, is with the Primitive Molotov Cocktail, and any Flammable Liquid will combust inside.

  • @EvilFingers And US UK version of democracy is either persuasion, or sanctions or wars and deaths. What different is it? Listen, every region has a type of rule that suits. Those people who don't like will revolt like Egypt. So again, meddling in others' affairs is not good.

I agree with the specification. But no one is going to go behind the tank to fight it and hence it all depends or armour of the tanks. This tank seems bloody good.

  • Whats the point of Japan making High Tech MBTs, when they are no longer a Super Power anymore since after WW2.

  • US lies,

Everything from Atomic Bomb's aim which they simply just wanted to test nuclear and chose Japan, The pearl harbor incident never happened, they made bunch of lie story of Japan History, Japan is now just being silent of every noises from brainwashed Koreans and Chinese. look "Secret history of Atomic Bomb" for reference.

The 9-11 tragedy is set up by US Govt'.

Setup for an opportunity to invade Afghanistan, and now they're also doing the same style to Iraq.

    Now Russia will give help.

  • Japan made their battle tank knowing they probably wouldn't be fighting conventional warfare, while we (in the 80s) built a supertank. The only problem with our Supertank is it's basically worth shit now because we're fighting an enemy that A. is unconventional in and of itself and that B. In the case of Afghanistan, worked with us and one point and knows almost exactly how our military operates.

  • @rctsos Retard Chinese tanks are of good quality but North korean tanks you are right about, are not cause they are from the 60's stop bitching about whats better and whats not because none of us know the true capabilitys of these tanks ....unless its an ex soviet T-72 tank

  • we'll see how good it performs next time godzilla shows up...

  • This seems like a great tank. Can not wait for more data to be released on it. :)

  • @rctsos and japan has break problems. You should STFU because you don't know what you are talking about. If South Korea and Japan goes to war who will win. Exactly shut your mouth. Retard. Talk mad shit when South Korea would most likely become the winner

  • @TheHabadu um idiot both of you South Korea and Japan are allies...if anything they would be up against North Korea

GOD i fucking hate these debates between people who "Think" they know there millitary prolly from a couple of video games

  • i hear that korean tanks won't move unless you feed them with rotten cabbage...

  • @gonn2006 korean tanks are starcraft terran siege tanks. :D

  • the optics positions is reminding of leclerc

  • this tank does not fit to fight other tanks..

it has no high plated turrent front, but a better plating in other turrent regions.

this makes this tank not fit to protect itself from other tanks, but makes it more fit to protect itself in guerilia wars.

this means: it fails in common warfare, but it is realy good for "asymetric warfare"

  • 5 wheels in the tracks why not 7 with a bigger body and turret to keep a better accuracy, it still is a prototype but interesting design i give japan that and i hope that japanese and turkish relations improve

  • @TURKSTA19 japan doe not need a "real" tank.

  • Looks like a Leopard 2

  • @titsxyxyxyxtits not realy

  • 44ton........ i don't know..... but it says it's intend for counter insurgency and guerrilla battle. i guess that's probably enough.

  • @TheWaffenssoberst lol, please do some more research before commenting

  • @zqdz123 wait, are u out of ur mind

  • japan should take the responsibility to protekt noth asia from russia's possible invasion.

i am not jocking.i come from notheast part of china "manchu".and old people have good imagine about japanese.

japanese is the people that we can trust.they are better than the south chinese.

  • @zqdz123 Russian invasion :D? LOL ahhahahha

  • @zqdz123 I thought japan beat the fuck out of china back in the WW2?

  • @fenix144

sorry i dont quite understand you.

what fuck ? what do you mean ?

  • @zqdz123 I thought japanese peoples were pretty mean to peoples from china in the WW2

  • @fenix144

many chinese hate japan becasue of WW2

but i come frome japanese colony :manchuria

and i am very very objectiv.

japan stop russia's invade to manchuria and saved our lives.

  • The future of tanks lay in a solid hull and turret design as a base for advanced & modular armor configuration. The tank has to get into the fight to win it, even if it has to sacrifice armor for deployment speed. Tactics make up for the rest. Once in the theater of operations, and foothold established, logistical support can provide the "bolt on armor" best suited for the combat environment. This is the direction that the U.S. needs to take.

  • 10式戦車ついに完成したな。でも実戦に使われることはおそらく無いだろうな。

    can it float?

  • TENJHO HEIKA BANZAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Bajedu what time table you are living in?

  • @TheWaffenssoberst

The very high technology you cannot imagine is used for Type10.

Korean mbt is just a trash compared with Type10.

  • HUH! it looks like the JGSDF will have a new tank,a very light i'm surprised that is not classified as a light tank, it'll probably will replace the older type-74 mbt.

  • @3452te nah. imaginations is veru important however, admit that there is always better will exist is much harder than anything.

  • do they have an intern wii console?

  • Maby there building a secret army :D

  • @jibster94

nah. but they build bitching wepons!!

  • bitching weapons for what :O

  • i wonder what the caliber length of the barrel is?

  • 5,300 mm. It's a copy? of the Rheinmetall L44 120mm gun for the Type 90 or M1A1 MBT. There is an option for L55 or a new barrel 50 caliber in length.

  • @limitedQ nah. no copy. just waaay better.

  • this tank looks badass

  • it is great to see from Japan that they wont back down to North Korea!

  • @ThePanzerWarMachine Nah. Japan won't back down from nothing... Japan won't make any wars agaist any countries. they just defends. if it's conquering is neccery U.S. will play the rule for Japan. Sorry time has changed than most of silly histry channels crappy videos.

  • if the DPRK tried a nuclear attack on japan, or on south korea it would be suicide for them, there would be a ton of fallout blowing back on them and/or to china and china wouldn't stand for that. and for a conventional war DPRK has thousands of artilery pieces but everything is very old tech. modern MBTs and attack helos would crush them in a couple days.

  • not 2 mention the US troops in south korea, or japan and there carrier groops in the east asian seas, they would be forced to attack north korea if they made any hostile moves toward south korea or japan

  • @macuss87 U.S. will play the biggest rule on that.

  • MegaGewehr likes butt secks

  • Looks like a rather short barrel.

  • i wonder what the caliber length is?

  • @popsgoneracing I dunno. Looks like about 2/3rds the length of an M1A1's main gun. Bet the muzzle blast is horrific!

  • @MegaGewehr doesn't matter . it's precise than any thing on the market

  • Wow, Mitsubishi made it

  • Japanese huh?

    Build quality, excellent

    Reliability, excellent

    Electronics excellent

    List of extras excellent

Easy to drive, simple standardized controls, drink holders for everyone, air con. and comes with standard 3 year warranty.

    Large range of colours

  • this guys got it!

  • hmm...i think north korea has no nuclear weapons, they starve !!! how can they have any real weapon ?!? someone must save people there and put their goverment into jail !!!

  • That's what the rest of the world thinks...

  • You can Have Nuclear weapons and have the entire populationof the Country Starving, besides... N. Korea has those nuclear weapons that were either sold or constructed in part by the Soviet Union A Gazillion Years ago (Actually like from 50 years ago and on...)

  • I'd buy one.

Lol, if it's made in japan WITH technology, you can bet it's good.

  • I'm afraid how stupid N. Korea is playing with fire, danger of waking up the big military power Japan once was.

If they flex their muscle using the technological power and economic power they have now, N. Korea is no match against Japan. Only thing they don't have is nuclear weapon, but may not be longer.

If that happens, along with China, E. Asia will be very tense region.

  • Japan was never a particularly big military power. Their reach far exceeded their grasp. They simply dont have the resources to maintain a large, well provided army or navy.

Now they do have a lot of potential, if they can secure the resources, but even at their height during WW2, the Japanese were operating at the very limit of their capability, in terms of sheer resources. They had neither the oil resources nor the steel to produce more than they already had.

  • Today, however, oil is no longer obtained solely through ground-level drilling, so if the Japanese were able to secure a few underwater sources, they might be able to run on that for a while. Their best bet, however, is probably to exploit their volcanic resources for geothermal energy, and invest in power cells and nuclear-powered warships, to maximize their very limited resource base.

In terms of geothermal power, though, their potential is very good.

  • Etimos: "Japan was never a particularly big military power."

    Don't make me laugh.

Who else say that except you? Name some of them who say that or show the article.

  • I may be mistaken but, didn't Japan sign a treaty that disallowed Japan to create a military for "offensive reasons" but can for "defensive reasons"? N. Korea is no match against Japan, for sure.

  • @thefunkz

It's not a treaty with other countries, It's written in the constitution. All it takes is rewriting it and the movement to do so is getting momentum because of N. Korea.

Once the constitution gets changed, it maybe pre-WWII military power all over again. And this time, US has little power to stop because of the debt they owe and also to China.

I think ultimately, the biggest problem won't be N. Korea but Japan against China.

  • Japan Has Gundams... You Can't fight Gundams LOL Just Kidding.

  • looking good...

    my favorite tanks are:

    Leopard 2 A6 M

    T-90s

  • I bet this gets good mileage and is reliable as hell, as well. LOL.

  • or Trumpeter...

  • I hope tamiya makes this tank SOOON

  • @gorrammit I am sure Fine Mould will be the first to release the Type 10.^_^

  • ...modular armour to quickly change configuration? sounds good. very heavy tokio drifter. nice engineering. PEACE!

  • the fifth generation tank will be even a smaller humanless tank.

  • 44 tons = less armor than the Type 90. Are the Japanese planning to use modular armor, and the quote is for non-modular weight?

  • Lighter doesn't automatically mean less armor. Japan leads the world in composite material tech. Type10's composite armor is about 40% lighter than type 90's, but still can withstand 120mm APFDS. It was developed by Mitsubishi heavy metal and Kyocera corporations. They are the world tech leaders in their respective field.

44t is the normal weight and its more protective than type 90. They can add extra side modular armor. It would make the tank 48t. Still very light.

  • That tank has 'awesome' written allover it...

  • I bet you control the tank via PS3 controller lawl

Kewl tank, seems like it has a really low profile (or suspension; whatever it's called)

  • 6.5 million dollars??? it maybe a good tank, but at cost of an abrams?

  • the best tank in the world.... i mean japan

  • GT-R Tank.

  • What are the bags over the tank at 1:13? Are them for radar stealthiness? Very nice tank btw. Well done.

  • Just a M2 mashine gun.

But type 10 also has ir sensor, laser, extremely high frequency radar and so on.

  • lol don't make me laugh dude. Chinese has best quality!!? let me tell you the truth, that is impossible lol chinese never has quality and never will lol u guys just need to produce cheap shit. that's the ur duty for this world.

  • Yeah show us because China still don't have an aircraft carrier while Japan do.

Isn't that weird for a "world's highest thechnology standing"

Oh!And they still don't have anti missile shield like AEGIS!!

  • when did apn hav a aircraft crrier plse info

  • DDH 181 Hyuga , the 18 march 2009, watch it on youtube =>watch?v=IJXhm421tqI

  • sorry to say buddy but even if your military technology is high japans over all technology still beats yours, like it has magnetic trains in service as well as mobile phones that can replace your wallet pretty much, and they have the worlds most advnaced robotics

  • WHERE did u see that?

  • japan

  • oooh I see serious prooh heh?ROFL

The only thing I saw about chinese tank is that they still use russian model

  • PROOF*

lol only the type 59 is based on russian? Are you blind?Watch the other tank they are the same as russians.

  • Comment removed

  • Hmm... if Bludgeon was a Japanese tank, he would take the disguise of this kick-butt Type 10.

  • cool

  • Does anyone know why that tank is so cheap?!

  • Cheap? It costs more than the M1 Abrams tanks and I'd rather have an Abrams.

  • Finally civilized countries realised, that a tank must be under 50 ton weight. Cheers

  • @napal05 and why must it be under 50 tons ?

  • @AugustMate81186 because former japanese tank, type 90 tank(which was deployed in hokkaido to cope with u.s.s.r) was too big and heavy to deploy it in all japanese land.japanese self defense army faces north korean guerrila,so they needs light and easily-transported tank.so type 10 tank have been born.

  • @napal05 chinese tank is under 50 tons

  • this would kick any chinese tanks' ass

  • It's a cross between the Merkava Mark IV and the Leopard 2A6
