  • so what happens when you dont find a corresponding piece??

  • I finally get an idea of how this method works, good job. but this method definetly involves a lot more thinking and skill, rather than the beginers method where you just learn algarithims... and it will take me longer to learn this method

  • hey man pls can u make a tut of the last part

  • I dont get it :(((

  • I've spent days looking for a tutorial as good as this. THANK YOOOOOOUUUUU

  • Thank you so much this was VERY helpful.

  • You should definitely get a better cube, mate :3 That one looks a little sticky. Great tutorial, though!

  • wow u really helped me thanks

  • I think that this is the best explanation for this method ever!!! Thanks for slowing it down.

  • i can solve a cube in 50 seconds.....but i dont get this very much

  • As everyone else says "Best f2l video on youtube, all other are very confusing" :)

I FINALLY DID SOME OF IT!!

    TY SO MUCH!

  • @markussen19 Awesome!! Congrats! and Happy New Year :-)

  • @markussen19 Awesome!! Congrats! and Happy New Year :-)

  • @theerion Happy new year :)

Btw. I think i can make the beginners method faster than F2L.

But i am sure that after some practise i will make the F2L faster than the beginners method :)

  • You sound like the joker from the dark knight

    XD

  • AGHHH!!! ALL THESE F2L VIDEOS ARE CONFUSING!!!!

  • Best f2l video all the others are very confusing thanks :D

  • thanks bro!!!! even tho you are a beginner this is the best vid I've seen on this method thanks again

  • thx.... when its in my muscle memory my time will be a lot better. i usually have to spend about a minute working on the lower two layers and its getting really boring. my time is 62 sec.

  • your awesome, probs the best tutorial for f2l

well done; ill be telling all my friends bout his

    thannks!

  • @p3wnyAntony awesome!!

  • my way is better! solve white at first step with T-form at its sides. Now, make the T-form a perfect form. make the crosses at 3rd step then do the corners! well, guess our patterns are the same....

  • thisi is good

  • Can u give me the link where i can find the formula.. Please.. f2l..

  • There's no formula for F2L. It's intuitive.

  • Thankyou this was such a great vid.

  • Thank you! This was a big help!

It does not have as many flaws as you think.

  • Nice

  • great but can you make this in HD i cnt see much too blurry

  • dude please explain the last part!!!

  • the last part's just the final algorithms from the layer method. check pogobat's tutorial for a great explanation of how they work. once you get them, then try to learn the fingertricks necessary to make them muscle memory, and then they just fly by.

  • i do not understand.... mine just don't seem to be a tube of color... "sighs"

  • It'll come to you, keep at it! Just remember that to achieve the tube of color, you need to involve (usually) two moves... one to position the cube you're working with, and the second to deliver that cube to its destination (next to the edge cube, oriented properly) to form the two-cube "tube" I refer to. Good luck! It took me a long time - don't despair, you'll get it. :-)

  • Thank you!!!

  • FINNALY a good tutorial!!!! :D

awsome video bro, you took everything slow and good :) a + to you because you re-did some difficrult things you did, so we can really see what you were doing :) 5 stars man, awsome

  • This excellent comment just made my whole day! :-)

  • very good and a sub. I watched some other guys vid on this and he was going way too fast. u give some very good ponts and break it down slow. but u finish it different? i do a cross on top, then corners in right spot, then corners with right orientaiions, then top sides right orientation. how do u finish?

  • hey man, thanks for the kind words and the sub. I finish with: cross on top, correct the sides of cross, orient corners, reorient corners to finish.

  • ...

i dont get the Fridrich and fucking all

    lol

  • tube of color. Great description lol

  • world record is 8.72 ler...his rubic's cube kind of bad,not smooth..

  • petrus FTW?

  • i dont need this method i made a new method up where you can solve the first 2 layers in one second probably shorter than that. and the rest i just use OLL and PLL. my best time now is 5.69 seconds!

  • sweet!

  • Could you post a video because to tell you the truth I don't believe that because the world record is 7 seconds.

  • ok i will tomorrow! :)

  • please explain to me. where can i learn this OLL and PLL methods?

  • just type OLL and PLL tutorial in youtube search box. the best guy that teaches you is DanielDude somethin dont know the rest of his username though, but the first part is DanielDude

  • its dan brown.

type in "how to solve a rubix cube part 1"

    easy as pie

  • teach me

  • teach what?

  • fIRST two layers in 2 seconds

  • no because i was kiddin!

  • nice tutorial, please go check out my videos there are some good cubing ones, also some magic and other various videos please checkout rate comment and subscribe

  • i dont get it

  • Thanks for the great tutorial :) I've been living on the standard method for a few weeks now, my best time being 1:06.

I've been looking for a great method to learn; Petrus and Ortega Corner's First are currently a bit too much for me o_O.

    Thanks.

  • you should get a better cube to make things easier and faster

  • hey bro..thnx alot

i know how to solve the cube but in LBL method..

and now i will try this method

    thnx

  • hey no sweat - glad it helped!

  • Well..thanks man! I didn't tried yet to solve it looking at you're movie 'cause I'm not in the mood yet to try it, But I'm sure that I'll try it as soon as possible. When I will solve it, I will contact you to thank you again! :)

  • One thing I have noticed: The white cross can be made much faster if you stack up the white edges on the yellow face first (no particular order) , then match the side colors and rotate them 180* into position on the white side. Less looking and thinking that way and (usually) less moves as well. That saved me a minute and a half. I still can't get the hang of this F2L thing...

  • I've learned to do something similar with the white cross, including looking for the white side pieces that become correctly oriented halfway through the 180* rotation to either be completed or spun out of the way on the yellow face for repositioning before ITS 180* rotation. Keep at the F2L, you'll get it, and once you do... the whole cube changes and you'll start seeing things one, two moves ahead. Good luck.

  • Great idea!!!! :)

the only flaw is that that theory may not work if you have an Unofficial Rubik's Cube... :l

  • The colors may be different, but the principle remains the same. I'm sure it'd still work. I'm getting the hang of the F2L thing :)

  • true... :)

  • mine record is 55 secs without f2l, but i hope after i learn it it come down to about 35-40 secs

  • thanks alot , im down to about 1.30 mins thanks to this video

    =]

  • sweet!

  • i can do it in 40 seconds

  • my fastest is 32. lol

  • heyy , i can solve it in about 2 mins without this , if i learn to master this, approximatley how quick could i d the cube ?

p.s i ave started to learn it , but not competent yet

    thanks

  • hhey, once you really get it and feel really comfortable with it, you'll probably get your solves under a minute. my best time is around 30 seconds, averaging around 40-50 seconds, which for us regular humans is fairly respectable imho. :-) keep at it, you'll master it with practice!

  • thank you i got it!!!! I too had to set my cube down and just watch.

  • omg i really dont get this method i get so confused help please

  • cheers, i wanted to do it at the same time but i put the cube down, watched you, and now i understand. your method of explaining is awesome - open the door, put it in, close the door! thank you so much! :D

  • Love the way you explain. This video is so good! Thanks!

  • omg so boring -.-

  • i have 2 pieces together but then they arent correctly a cloured tube, and i have 3 of the first 2 layers solved, can u help me out?

  • i would love to, but I totally don't understand your question. 3 of the first 2 layers solved? huh?

  • sorry this is really hard to explain, lets say i have 2 pieces that can make a coloured tube, but they are not the exact colour tube, how can i make it so the colours match?

  • no worries, i'll do my best (and yes, it's way hard to explain) -- ok, you have your "tube of color," but the colors are mismatched/reversed? think of it this way: using your to layer, try to reposition your edge cube such that when you TEMPORARILY "reach" with your corner piece to match it, it will have the correct orientation. keep practicing, you will get it -- good luck

  • THANK YOU!1

  • i agree i have found lots of tutorials for this methord but this one is the best to make sence of thanks soo much m8

  • yo i agree, this made a lot of sense, you need to take out that thing in the description about how there is better. thanks a lot dude!

  • dude, best tutorial for fridirch ive seen so far, good job man, you actually EXPLAINED what needed to be done, not just showed us that you can do it.

    5*

  • you just totally made my day, dude :-)

  • im glad, i still have a little trouble with the trickier set ups where it takes a little more brains to figure it out, but none the less your tutorial as helped the most

  • excellent -- here's another thing to keep in mind, once you start seeing what to look for in edge/corner arrangements -- learn to mate pieces "in reverse," so that you'll spend less time rearranging pieces and more time going "oh yeah, that happens just as easily (and quickly) backwards" -- this will shave many seconds off your solving time -- good luck!

  • finally somebody who didn't just say turn it this way and explained took about 15 minutes to learn with this thanks =)

  • mission accomplished!

  • thank you for posting this :)

  • Im having trouble doing the very last 'tube' of colors. Its the blue and red edge and the blue white and red corner that are giving me trouble. The white it on top, and when i try to do it similar to how you did in the video(by turning the edge downward, then swining the corner around) it messes up one of the other three tubes. Can you help? haha thanks.

  • I hope I can help, yes -- for the "last tube," as it were, hold the cube such that the last corner, the one you're working on, is in the lower right quadrant. there's only two ways you can turn the edge now, Right, or Front Inverted. This won't mess up any of the completed corners. Make sense?

  • there's something i'm not getting... and i don't know what it is... when im trying to match them up i never can...

  • think of 'which corner cube, with white on the end' am I working with, and 'which edge cube do I need to mate it with.' use your right hand to rotate the corner cube with its mate (edge cube) and then PUT IT BACK so you don't mess up the white cross or the other solved corners. sometimes, especially with the last corner, you'll need to work with the front face as well, to mate corners with edges 'off to the left' - i hope this helps

  • nice vid ty i think now i get this TY so much =)

  • sweet!

  • thanks, i dont have it perfect yet but ill keep practicing, you did a good job explaining tho im just thick headed lol, could you explain what the OLL and PLL methods are?

  • thank you -- we're all a bit thick headed when it comes to the cube, at first... then, we master it. I don't know what the OLL and PLL methods are, but now you've got me curious.

  • I believe that oll and pll are fridrich methods to solve the last layer in 2 moves, i cant remember if you need a bunch of algorithms tho or if that is petrus

  • I'm going to need to look into this, because while I wouldn't say the cube's gotten boring to solve (at all!), I could stand a bit of fresh excitement, aside from trying to learn the 4x4 or 5x5's.

  • ok i found out OLL solves the top side (yellow face for me) in one algorithm, 52 cases w/ short algos but it can be reduced if you just make a cross and PLL is solving the last layer in one algo, 21 cases medium lengh algo

  • Interesting -- seems like a lot to remember to shave off one or to algos, but if it's faster, it's faster - thanks for the info!

  • I downloaded this and hope I can get this down.

  • you CAN!

  • my best time is 42 secs, and I hope to get it better! thank you for teaching me this! 5 stars

  • the honor's mine -- since learning this, I've forgotten the old layer method and good riddance! ;-)

  • tytytytytytytytytytyty so much

  • w00t! go forth and solve!

  • My new fastest time is 47 secs usin dis method! I used to solve it in like 2 mins! It took almost a month to master this method...I'm happy with my new fastest time!

  • Now THAT is one of the coolest bits of news to be shared in these comments yet! Congrats on your very, very respectable time! 47 seconds is great!

  • lol i've watch the videos like 3 times... =(.. i realy want to get faster.... but thnx for the great video..i get some parts of it but nnot all

  • Im sorry.. =*( i still dont get it =(... i learn from pogo bat.. and my best time is 1 minute and 30 seconds.. but i want to get faster..

  • hi swirlkat -- that's fair, you'll get it eventually. tips: don't break the white cross. match up corners/edges for "tube of color" with white on the end, and then "open the door, back it in and close the door" to "place the corner." The layer method will never, ever been super-fast. Keep working on Fridrich, you will get it! It took me quite some time, but now I couldn't imagine solving the cube any other way. Good luck!

  • hay man.. thanks a million yea your right i was actually getting a lil bored of doin the old method this spices things up a lil. great vid, best explanation iv seen so far for this method. just a question.. the ppl are nuts at this who dose it in like 30 secs and stuff, is this the method they use ? i do it with the old method and i can average under min.. but no matter how hard i try cant get it past that... help plz.

  • hhey thanks!! i don't know if this is the method the 30s people use or not, but i'm going to say probably. there's a couple of other "last layer" techniques out there, but i finish the cube with the standard layer method algorithms. once you get GOOD at fridrich, and I mean "forwards and backwards and upside-down," becuase THAT'S the key to fridrich proficiency, is hitting those corners 'in reverse' if you get my meaning. Work it both ways. I'm down to around 40s top speed on a good day.

  • oi man at sovloing the crosspart u should of moved the 1 on top first but fucking well done great vid man

  • hey thanks bro!

  • How do u solve the last layer?

  • With algorithms... first I make the cross with an algorithm, then fix the edges if they're screwed up (usually) with an algorithm, then move the corners, then fix the corners to copmlete the cube. Too much to explain here, but there are good videos out there... check Pogobat's tutorial for probably the best explanation of the last layer's algorithms. That's what I use.

  • w0w!!!! this reaaly helps me

  • mission accomplished

  • thanks a lot this is what i was looking for, very clear.

  • sweet!

  • this is the only vid that I can understand F2L thanks~~

  • excellent, that's why I made it. :-) glad you're finding it helpful - don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. cheers

  • watching ur video, i felt like i had a phase lag with your experiences with rubik's cube... thats exactly how i learned, felt after a while, my dusty cube and everything.. and now im into fridrich's method.. one of the very few very well explained tutorial.. good work man!!

btw, whats ur best timing after u started working on fridrich's method?.. just interested to see hw far it can take me..

  • hey man, thanks! the fridrich method really really helped my times... I'm still not world-class speed, but I've got it under 60 seconds for the most part. Quick enough to do while someone watches, after hearing "you can't do that thing." :-)

  • Very good explanation! In my opinion this is the best tutorial i have seen. Now i need to buy a new cube because i dropped my old cube and it broke into pieces :(

  • oh no! broken cube = bad. glad the tutorial was helpful - good luck!

  • Oi Khash! That's got my name on it! XD u can use my cube for a while if u wanna try this Jess method. O well. Love ya xxx

  • thanks man this was the easiest vid to understand

  • glad it was helpful!

  • you did a great job explaning

i just think that im not smart enough to understand. lol

  • oh whatever, you're plenty smart - if I can figure it out, surely you can, too - keep at it :-)

  • this tutorial was the easiest to understand out of ALL of them. awesome job thanks much!

  • glad you found it helpful - good luck!

  • you are helping man! thanks!!

  • you're welcome, good luck!

  • man this helped a ton, one of the BEST F2L method videos around! great job!

  • glad it helped! cubing rocks - effortlessly kills time during layovers in airports

  • lol i brought mine in a airport and it beat bordem

  • thanks man! helped alot :D

  • awesome! :-)

  • it is u'r tutorial on f2l which i understand the most....... !! ^_^

    tnx...... helped a lot!

  • this seriously means a lot to me to hear - thank you!! :-)

  • fun to learn aswell =]

  • *thumbs up* :-)

  • Dude, while I was in S.A. yesterday I snagged my brtothers cube and told him I was gonna solve it.And from watching this last week I was able to do the first 2 layers but I'm stuck on the top.I don't want to screw it up tryin' to get the last 5 pieces in place.

  • GTFO you got the F2L from watching THIS video? Damn, that's awesome! Ok, find Pogobat's video Part Two for the final layer. It'll be like this: get top cross (1 algorithm), align edges of top cross (1 algorithm), rearrange corners (1 algorithm), finish corners (1 algorithm). You ahve a total of 4 algorithms to learn to finish the regular way. I know there are other ways of doing the final layer. rock on man, good luck!

  • GOT IT !!! You Rock!!!

  • w0t! Congrats! Sitting in the bathroom will never be the same.

  • haha....... wash this!

  • :) cool man ;)

  • cool :) man :)

  • Nice tutorial man.

  • thanks dude

  • I had a book to explain how to do the six side, I did it in 13 seconds, but I forgot how to do and I don't know where I put the book. I remember I did one side and two lines, the the four last corners, and after there was 6 manipulations, then 6 six again and the game was over, but it's not fun when after you know how to do.

  • The difference with this method is that it requires problem solving instead of just following algorithms, so it's "different" each time. It's very challenging, like guitar! :-)

  • nice...

  • thx broseph

  • WOW you are great!! I don't understand the spectacle at all. I had a Rubik's Cube as a child, but I couldn't solve at all, but, rather than it, I got interested in the structure of Rubik's Cube, so I decomposed it scatteringly, but then, I couldn't assemble it, so threw away. LOL

  • hha! straymouse, i came pretty close to throwing this one away, too, and then something clicked and it all made sense. it's not magical, but it sure can look magical sometimes :)

  • HAHAHA! I took mine apart to oil it so it could move faster. You have to lay the pieces out in order or give up the idea of getting it back together.

  • hahahaha that is a weird perspective!! hahaha nice :)

  • seated, cube between my legs, camera pointed straight down, the way i solve it. thanks james! :-)

  • nice one.. I figured out my own algorithms back when I was little by experimenting on a solved cube and using my methods I could solv it in about 10 minutes. Though your method is much faster... My algorithms would usually transform 3 pieces at a time so I had to think a lot on which algorithm to use in order to achieve desired effect

  • hha COOL at least one of my subscribers didn't think I'd lost my mind by posting this vid - thanks! the cube's brought me MUCH joy and MUCH killed time, LOL
