I Have To Say The Mustard Has Not Been Cut Here, Abba Songs Stay Abba In My Mind. A Man Of FANTASTIC TALENT! Should Have Left This One Alone Mate But UNTOUCHABLE! For Your Own Music
I don't agree. I remember lots of people loving them and their albums always were at the top of the charts. Granted, there was an equally popular undercurrent movement that hated ABBA because they were loved by a lot of older people as well, and threatened the more mainstream popular music of the time.
To describe all of Abba's music as "muzak" is ignorant. "Knowing Me ..." is well worth Joe's attention, but I don't think the vocals (harmonies) quite cut it in this recording.

I have nothing but respect and admiration for Joe jackson as a performer, artist, singer and song writer......having said that....THIS SUCKS! Joe! What were you thinking????? ABBA????? REALLY?????

I have to agree this is truly frightening. Joe M8 No! Abba should not have been encouraged. At least your rendition shows the gaping holes in their approach to music umm musak er musick.....whatever!!
I don't think that there's "gaping holes" in their music...Mr. Jackson, as brilliant as he is, just didn't have the right orchestration or the right harmonies. Those two girls were masters at harmony!!!
It's an okay song, and I'm proud of it, but I still wish that ABBA had tried to make a hit out of "Genetic Test", the song they rejected from me in 1973 back when I was still writing songs for them. They ended up rejecting the song but using the story of the song for the musical Mamma Mia! You can check out The Missing ABBA Song at my YouTube page.

Who is the drummer? He looks like Adam Clayton. Can you tell me if it's true or not?
xxrola 2 years ago
The drummer is Joe's long-time drummer - Dave Houghton.
mmdobey 2 years ago
@xxrola nevermind the adam clayton lookalike drummer...joe jackson is a spitting image of mickey rourke in this video.

Adam Clayton plays bass. Larry Mullen Jr. is the drummer for U2. But yes the drummer here is Dave Houghton.

Everyone said they hated Abba back then, but in fact everyone loved and loves them.
Me too.
One only have to grow older to have the guts to admit it.
They created really brilliant things.
