  • what are the best settings for ps3 on this tv?

  • Had the same issue, after a lot of research, and tried several fixes, I found this real and the only solution, switch the PS3 display setting to use 1080i (remove the 1080p option), now for some people upgrading the firmware of the TV or changing the motherboard of the TV/PS3 worked as well, but also found several folks that still had the problem after that, many of them returned the PS3 to the store and got a new one, same thing, so if you are still having this issue after that, try this.

  • pero esta como mala tu tv

  • Samsung M81,best TV,and the most Beautiful for sure!!! greetz

  • LOL that is a great point and why did you write back so late , itsbeen months since i posted that coment

  • hey im going to buy a new monitor ????? and im going to connect it to the ps3 ? wat the hell do i need ?? and wat should the monitor be ? HDMI OR WAT ? i know nothing about this just tell me wat to buy and il go buy it ? thxx

  • wat the hell is happening to your tv , it is messed up , you should get a new one

  • oh , great advice chap.

Just throw away the 1,500 bucks you just paid and go get a new t.v.

You should work in a call center.

  • i have my ps3 connected through hdmi and it looks so real like

  • WoooW..... guuddd....

    i want that one... hhihihihihi

  • that's a le40m87bd :P

  • Ähm, no it is a 40M86BD :)

  • theres no difference ones just exclusive to some stores.

  • oh shit wtf

  • oh!!! horrible!!!!

  • You must buy an HDMI 1.3 Cable. The PS3 and the Samsung M8 have an HDMI 1.3 Port. With an HDMI 1.1 or 1.2 you got only problems.Lokk in the Samsung book for your Sammy and there will be the answer. He got problems with HDMI 1.2 or older.

  • Thx for advice. The problem was solved a long time ago as mentioned in the video-info.

  • your cable is HDMI 1.0, So put the hdmi cable in HDMI port 2 on the M8

  • No, that wasn't the problem. I checked every HDMI-Port.

  • Wow, someone else is (was) suffering from this too! I got a PS3 + Sony hdmi + Samsung f86 46", and the two hdmi ports in the backside of Samsung have this same blinking. The third hdmi on the side works properly. WTF! I'll try another cable brand then, but why the hell does this happen with these Samsung models? I thought a Sony cable would be reliable...

  • I think it has something to do with the 2 hdmi imputs on the back not being hdmi 1.3 compliant the one on the side is

  • that sucks, iv just bought a hdmi cable and i have a samsung, this better not happen to me

  • Well my tv is the m87 but i had a similar prob with flashing when a 1.3 cable was put in either of the back hdmi ports. The side one was fine however, i think u can just use a 1.1 or 1.2 hdmi cable instead in the back of the set u wont notice any difference. It doesnt really bother me as all my hdmi ports are used up so something had to be connected on the side, u cant see it when its connected anyway

  • That's a good theory. I'm 90% sure that the back hdmi ports are somehow "demanding" and require a higher quality or certain hdmi version cable. I tried with a hdmi-dvi cable and there was no flicker.Yeah, using the side port isn't so bad since it's not very visible.

  • Is it a bug? Is it removed in the 2.10 firmware?

  • I'm quite sure this is not the PS3's fault but has more to do with the Samsung's hdmi ports, they must be very picky about cable quality.

  • Hm.. I am kinda in the subject Samsung and TVs.

With my experince it must be a bug in the TV that can be removed if you update your Samsung M86 firmware or if you go to the reseller and say that your TVs software have critical bugs and then if you still have your warranty you should easly get a new one!

The problem mostly apperas in new TVs, those who have the oldest firmware.

I hope your problem will be fixed and I wish you a nice 2008 and life! ¦)

  • idon,t think samsung will be around for long with sony in the picture...um remmeber aiwa.

  • sk8kid i dont know WHERE THE FUCK you got that info from but PHILIPS is dutch moron SONY is working together with samsung not philips you moron philips make great tv's so go back home and do your homework first and MAYBE you can post a comment again. -_-' geez where people get crappy info from xD.

  • AND I TOOK MY PHILIPS 52 " 1080p HDTV BACK IT WAS A FUCKING GAY ASS TV and then i bought a samsung 56" dlp projection 1080P and its AMAMAMMAZIIINNNGG

  • LOL I'm proud of you... Philips are the WORST TV's you can ever buy, anyone with a Philips I suggest you buy a new TV. Samsung is FTW!!!

  • I totally agree with you. Samsung and Sony are among the two best TVs out there.

  • I have a question that I hope any of you can answer for me. I have a 56" Samsung 1080p HD DLP television. I also own a Playstation 3. When I use a HDMI cable, I can't get a picture, even when I try to change the settings to HDMI it just won't work. However when I use a Componenet D cable I can get a picture and it accepts the 1080p output on my PS3 settings. The question I have is how come my PS3 won't accept my HDMI cables?

  • hey WHAT KIND OF HDMI CABLE YOU USING

  • I can see you have great taste in HD televisions! Samsung's HD 1080p DLP television kicks total ass! Anyway, I use a Monster HDMI cable. Which HDMI cable you use for your HD tv? Which do you recommend? I glad somebody FINALLY will answer this for me!

  • HEY I USE HIGH QUALITY DRAGONPLUS HDMI CABLE,i got the SAME TV YOU DO lol cool.

  • Thanks Poisonsting22, I'll buy a Dragonplus HDMI cable this Friday(payday)! Thanks for answering my question, I'll add you to my PS3 friends List!

  • ummmm ok.. I NEED TO BUY AN 70FT ETHERNET CABLE SO I COULD STOP GOIN DOWNSTAIRS ALL THE TIME TO GET ONLINE i will let u kno if i got online

  • Poisonsting22, why don't you just get wireless internet from your internet provider. Once you get wireless internet service, all you have to do is type in the modem seriel number on the box in the settings section on the PS3, push enter and then you can play online without the need of a ethernet cable coming from the ps3. This is what I use. (I use my Gateway computer just when I surf the bet).

  • you kno wat you right dude BUT WIRELESS SUCKS my room is soooo far away from the computer downstairs. And wired internet are way faster from wat i heard

  • and loads more reiable

  • Actually it depends on your router. I got a belkin n+ router and my friend 8 houses down can get my connection. It just depends on what you buy.

  • i have a 52" PHILLIPS 1080p HDTV AND A $20 HDMI CABLE AND I HAD THE BLINKING problems all you have to do is unplug the hdmi cable wait a few seconds (5seconds) then plug it back in and it workeeeeddddddddddddddd

  • I tried this before. Did not work for me. But even if it would: Are you doing this every time you want to use your PS3?

  • ummmm it didnt's blink anymore after i did that

  • its 15000:1 actually lol i ahve the same tv at home it kicks ASSSSSSS

  • dude that tv kicks ass 10000:1 hell yeah 1080p LCD i love it also

  • well i have a ps3 running on a 20dollar hdmi cable works hella good no problems at all, where all this stuff come around of having to buy a 50 dollar cable or more.

  • I never said that a 50 $ cable has to be better than a 20 $ cable. I just bought one from Altona because it is very thin.

  • with you old cable you could of got it fixed by typing it into youtube (your problem) then one video gives advice one how to fix it.

  • niiiiiiice...i've got a Ps3 conected to a Samsung 37M86
