i was blessed to get to shake her hand after the first time i heard her speak. i have been a proud Texas democrat ever since. i get goosebumps everytime i hear her voice. a beautiful woman.

I have always admired Barbara, and am saddened that such a remarkable woman died so young. Someone like her today would send the far right running for cover.

When I watched this speech in 1992, I realized that the Democratic Party was not dead, and there was hope for a new beginning. This is one of the most moving speeches I have ever seen. RIP, Barbara Jordan, and have mercy upon us nit-wits you have left behind. If you can help from the other side, that wouldn't hurt, either.
