Don't think my response ever came up, maybe because I had a link in it, but Bad Brains are the most important all black punk band and that shirt was a variation on their best album's cover (it was actually a cassette). Obviously, as DC-based punk rockers with Reggae-based Babylon themes their attack on the capitol was not meant to be electoral, making it an even more interesting appropriation. I guess I can't paste in a link, but google "Bad Brains" and then click on "images" tp see that image.
