  • can you give me the sheet of this song ?

  • Im thinking of takign up Viola or Violin, whats the major differences?

  • I love this and literally started crying.... You're amazing I wish I could play

  • I'm a viola player too! :-D I've played for four years but I don't think I'm very good

  • you know what sucks? i dont know how to read sheet music and i was put in intermediate orchestra D:!!! for bass though :P

  • WE ARE VIOLA :)

  • if you have them, could you send me the notes???? :D

  • beautiful! I tried learning this when I first started and it sounded horrible! But you've convinced me to try again. Thanks!

    Godspeed :)

  • you play so well!!!

  • 0:55 ouch my ears XD

  • I lovee playing viola <3

  • Sounds simply amazing :D

  • eww...

  • The version that you are playing is the correct one. they have studied Suit No.1 and have come to find that all the long slurs are completly incorrect.

  • im a violinist and im proud and sexy :]

oh and the edition rly is kinda crappy o.o

  • Lol you probably got the "crappy edition" from 8notes.com lol thats where i got mine for cello.. then I bought the Fritz Gaillard version with slurs. I bought a viola one by accident.. too bad I can't give it to you ahah

  • Lightn Your Bow Hand

  • I've just started playing with a bow, so I can only wish I could sound like this.

  • i would definitely not upload this after a day.

  • Good job! I agree you should have some slurs. Work on phrasing and dynamics! Keep it up! :)

  • how long have you been playing?

  • You sound really amazing!

  • u r so good

  • i love it! its so nice~ i play the violin and some people told me i could play this piece in the violin ^^ i wanna learn it soon :D u play beautifuly :D

  • Wow. Very good. I play the viola and I'm learning this song on cello (even though I'm reading the song in alto clef).

  • lovely <3

  • This is pretty awesum! I'd say watch the vib, its not a very baroque thing to do. I think your viola sounds great! You make a beautiful sound! Becareful not to do rubato in the hard parts, it starts to loose its effect otherwise, try practicing with it ll in time a while 1st then think of the musical places to put it. Well done, keep going :-) are you doin this for your grade 7 viola?

  • Awesome dude! ^^ Could you please tell me where I can find the sheet music for this piece for Viola?

  • You sound awesome! Don't let people tell you otherwise. Those who say bad things about you performance are just effing jerks who don't know their ass from a whole in the ground. Keep up the amazing work!!!

  • Hey, don't listen to what they say you are amazing, I can't even do vibratos properly yet on the violin!

  • Wow! You're really good! Any advice for a beginner? I get my viola tomorrow! :)

  • yeah, sure, just focus on making a nice tone before anything else, and have fun with the music!

  • @AytidaRed annnd relax and play like you reaaaaally mean it lol

  • hey guys, please go check out the video that i posted up. I was playing the Sonata for Arpeggione and Piano. i need some feedback on how you guys think i did please.

  • That's pretty sad that you have to advertise on someone else's video just to so they'll listen to your performance. X(

  • you really need to add some slurs to the piece, its so imcomplete and not proffesional. now we all know you can play it, but can you play it properly? proffesionally?

  • heyy, um i learnt this in one day so it's not a polished performance. i have slurs anyway, where do they add them? i used a crappy edition from the internet.

  • where did you find the crappy edition???

  • i found it as an image somewhere and printed it out larger, can't remember where

  • @chaosblitz99 its the old suzuki version, but they have edited it now so its a pretty good arrangement from them nowadays.

  • @chaosblitz99 icking-music-archive. org/ scores/ bach/ cello_suites/vl100712. pdf

    delete the spaces

    I like this version :O

  • @AytidaRed I heard this piece doesn't actually indicate where to slur so the performances differ.

  • your playing is very messy for this song and your not using any dynamics and you have to use the slurs other wise it sounds choppy

  • Violas are unappreciated....

  • @MsViolaPlayer thats so true!

  • it's not a "song". don't you even know the names for classical pieces?

  • thats because he played it wrong

its supposed to be lower pitch

he played it in a too high pitch

  • Due to the tuning of the viola, no shit you moron. A cello is tuned an octave lower.

  • YES!!! It should only be in the hands of a cellist be he did really good I don't like how high it is

  • Viola rocks!!

  • you sound great =]

how long have you been playing?

  • hey, sorry not to get back to you sooner, i have been playing violin for 7 years and recently started experimenting with viola :) glad you liked it

  • i'm doing the same thing, violin for 9 years, and then tried the viola and fell in love with it, and i've been playing that for .... 1.5-2 years and now auditioning on it for college in Jan.

  • Great job!! Difficult song to play.

  • What type of viola did you get? Just another violist who's curious : )

  • It's a 15.5" 'Westbury Antiqued' viola made by The Sound Post UK. I got it for about £400 (sterling) including set-up with a good quality French bridge, Obligato strings and a new chinrest.

  • Viola's rock! yhyh i'm playin this and my part is specially arranged for alto celf! my teacher thinks it sounds better on cello than viola but thats debateable! Try getting it a little faster and work on smoother string crossing and you cud sound like a pro!!! Welll dun :D x

  • hey thanks for the tips! may post a new version anyway, i only read this in a day :) x

  • hahah nice!

thanks for making the viola gain a bit reputation!

    :D

yo how did u figure out to play this? ear? or converted the bass cleff to viola cleff?

anyways mine sharing me the tips of how to play that?

  • i just read from the cello score because i can't read alto (viola) clef very well but i can read bass clef better. i learnt most of it by ear but had to look at the music for certain bits. you can buy a version with alto clef quite easily.

  • why not slur those notes? like its written in the music? It'll sound a whole lot smoother since your notes are perfect. :) *****

  • thanks! by slurring do you mean slur everything? because i only have the notes and just chose a comfortable bowing.

  • well I'm looking at the music now and it's still in those fast sixteenth notes but could you possibly try to slur four sixteenth notes together so the bowing is up four down four and so on...understand? I know you could do it.

  • sure, i'll give that a go. i have seen all 8 in one bow, and also 3 slurred then 5 separate. I tried 3 slurred, then 1 separate, then 2 pairs of slurred notes.

  • There are actually numerous ways to play them. They dont have to be slurred. Depends on your interpretation and the publisher you use.

  • I kinda figured that out...haha!!! This is what most people like to use. As for me I like to play it with the most slurs as possible to make it sound more flowing. And if you can hit the notes correctly too....as for you...its perfect for this style of this piece. :)

  • Now I feel like changing violin to viola.

    haha

  • what kind of viola is that

  • it's a 15.5" viola made by The Sound Post (a British company with a chinese workshop). it's set up with pirastro obligato strings.

  • i love The Viola

unas pequeñas desafinaciones y los armonicos que nunca faltan pero bien!

  • FASTER! good job though i loved it

  • nice performance!!

i think you should try not to string cross at some parts, maybe use fourth finger, otherwise everything is very well played =D

  • I see what you mean, at the time 4th finger on a viola was quite a big stretch for me. :)

  • I think that you play very well, the edition is what doesn't convince me. You need better bowings and I'm sure "that" would fix a plethora of problems. I have a french edition with Paul Tortelier's bowings if you would like them write back and we can figure something out for me to send them to you. Good Luck

  • I printed this free off the internet, it had no bowings and I found this most comfortable and so do most of my friends. I have seen many other bowings too.

  • You did very good even though it wasnt your best.. I know the weaving of the bow is very difficult but a little more practice and you will be in tip top shape

  • thank you! but what do you mean exactly by "weaving of the bow"? sorry! :)

  • omg thats great! im about to audition with this piece, and this gave me a lot of phrasing ideas! but id say u should experiment with dynamics a bit, especially in between the first and second sections

  • Wow. Even if you think it was not your "best performance", I thought it was incredible. I wish I could play something so beautifully and with as much soul as you did.

  • Thanks! Check out my other videos too if you have time :D

  • where did you find the music sheet

i need it for my solo ensemble and I CANT FIND IT!!!!!!!!!!1D:

  • excellent!!! your viola sounds terrific. good luck with it :D

  • I love playing this piece!! :) I tend to muck up the very end bit in 3rd position so thumbs up to you for keeping in tune!

  • thanks! it wasn't my best performance by any means so thanks for your kind words
