There is also a version by composer Felix Draeseke (Liszt Pupil and Wagner friend - 1835-1913), which is also very beautiful and as I just saw, resp. heard , - also on Youtube !

she's an exquisite performer and can sing almost anything, her voice is not at her best in this repertoire, though. It's trying to sift a hurricane through a keyhole

sorry, the poets name is Rückert, not Ruckert. Ruckert is no name nor a German expression, it sounds like the word for a man who is a very clumsy bedmate for his wife: "schatzerl, bis mir obar wiedar a ruckert hoit noch.."

Yes, we know. English doesn't have an equivalent, unless you want 'Rueckert,' and not all browsers support the special characters required to produce the umlaut.
