1:04 -1:10 while not the most challenging technically is SO CUTE and says so much about Kitris character, as well as shows off the artistry of the dancer.

I love how the fan seems to magically open and shut without her seeming to do anything. It's not easy to hide the flick in a port de bras and still get the fan all the way open.

best kitri i've seen is definitely cynthia harvey. she doesn't turn it into a flexibility freak show, her technique's impeccable and she is so expressive. this performance was pretty good too, but i don't think it compares to cynthia harvey.

I must disagree. I think that Paloma is a great Kitri. I think she's definitely better than Nina Ananiashvili, and I think she might express Kitri better than Zakharova. Dance is more than technique, Paloma is feeling it with her mind as well as her body.

Nice article in Dance Magazine on Paloma this month. It seems that finally her artistry is catching up with her prodigious technical ability. For so long she was such a disappointment to those of us watching her career closely and so wanting her to develop. It seems like this is finally happening (her port de bras has so improved lately!) and that she's reaching that magical place where physical and artistic powers are at their apex.
