Nonviolence sucks against democratic governments. If your goals are not fulfilled, it usually means that most people think these goals are stupid. Also without repressive violence non-violence looses most of its teeth. That's why in western countries protesters will always try to overstate any "police violence" even if police really labor to avoid injury or even humiliation.
