iv'e always thought Edward winter inspired the voice of patrick warburton and when he became popular Ridge from bold and the beautiful started imitating it.
I liked the episode when he hid in the trash can outside the mess tent and some guy opened the lid and threw all the food on him. Also, I liked when he investigated the black market pennicillin ring and broke his own arm and a telephone over his own head. He was hilarious as was Frank Burns.
I loved this character....other than Frank Burns, I thought he was the funniest on the show, and Edward Winter played him very well.,..? did he win or get nominated for an Emmy? He should have!!!
I don't remember Winter receiving award(s) for Flagg, though it was a powerful role. Both Winter and Lindville stole the show when they were on screen and deserved more accolades than they got. But that's Hollywood, politics over talent.
He's not dead...he's just on assignment, but you didn't hear that from me, got it! Not that I'd tell you the truth anyway, because even I don't know the truth as I stay in a constant state of confusion just to baffle the enemy should they interrogate me before I bite into my cyanide capsule...
@pullybrit It's a security breach even showing the colonel's face on YouTube. The maker of this tribute must be a real commsymp, if you know what I mean. Probably a whole network of them on YouTube. Makes me sick. Yeah, Flagg's out there somewhere, keeping mom and dad and the kiddies safe at night and protecting our American way of life. I salute him!
A little later in that same episode Potter, in response to Flagg's trying to bully him into declaring Chandler fit for duty, and after Flagg's crack about Henry Blake's indecisiveness, said: "I'm not fond of personal abuse, Flagg!" Do you have that part? It's a classic Potterism.

Colonel Flagg was one of the Funniest Guest Characters on the show.
He represented the Idiot Mentality that put the Regular Characters in the position they are in , in Korea.
He could have had his own show.
They should have given him an office at the Base so he coul have become a Semi Regular .

yeah, but the beauty of Col. Flagg was that he only showed up a few times. i think if he was on more often, it would just become old.
