Dave,,I've just bought a Team TS-6M CB and I dont know if I'm on FM or AM....I've got a mobile arial and a Silver Rod when I'm on my boat.I'm also on the yahoo chatrooms as boatingbojangles (micktuck)..hope you can help me.

Different countries come in due to propagation. Its nicknamed "skip". During good conditions you can talk all over with just your radio. Ive talked to Jamaica and south america.

This brings back some good memories, I too, was an avid cb'er back in the late 70's early 80's at the tender age of 10/11 years old.

I'm now looking at getting a new rig!!!! Don't know which one to go for, any good reports??

I still have all my QSL mail that I have recieved from all over the world back in 1979 I wanted to take out the mail and contact some of the skip people that I have spoken to but I think they may feel weird. It was one of my best times and I am glad I was part of that Skip in those years, CQCQCQQQ DX

i love FM the audio is so much cleaner. un fortunely no one in the us talks skip on FM.

Thankyou....It makes me wonder why the USA has stuck with "Aunty Mary" thats more prone to TVI and is very noisy when the "Skips" rolling in.

i love cb radio so much that i own one, but there is a big problem on the airways with people bad mouthing and just keying you out for the fun out it.

but thay never get me off.

fantastic transceiver my father had one and I remember talking to northern Ireland and the shetland Iles Using 4 watts a stock microphone and a half wave vertical antenna would not mind having one of those myself great video keep it up 73 Adrian 26tm549 (2E0 TEN)
