what i did was almost same looking, i just painted joystigs and directional buttons (up, down, left, right) and the cross, square, triangle, circle buttons. oh yeah and also both R1's and R2's i only left the start select and ps button normal.. it works well and isnt sticky.. hard part was to replace the R2 buttons for me..NOTE: do not take R2 buttons off the controller, they are rvery hard to replace, so just cover the parts you dont want to paint and paint the buttons.

I later tried helping a friend paint his controller and we tried masking off the logos and other things with special masking tape and an exacto knife, and it turned out horrrible in the end. So, yeah, it's way harder than it seems to mask off all of the various things on the controller.

No, I got the paint at Wal-mart. If you're wonderng, it's Krylon Fusion. I forget the exact name, but it's something along the lines of "Hammered Effect Silver". Anyway, if you really want the look of a metal controller, it's the way to go, you should be able to find it.

Dude, you only crop crappy songs. For this it was either the whole song or no song, Pink Floyd rocks. Also, I used Krylon Fusion paint. I believe it was called "Hammer Effect Silver" or something like that. It's supposed to give the painted object a hammered metal look. I'll have to update my video information with this stuff.

I'm thinking about making one like that, but I want to do more research on special plastic paints to see if I can get it to where it doesn't feel as sticky. All I did with this one is paint it with Krylon Fusion spray paint. I didn't put any sort of second clear coat on it to smooth it out. I am also working on a technique to paint the buttons while leaving the labels intact. Also on how to perfectly paint around the rear label.

hi how did u do dis cuz i sprayed my ps3 controller and left it 2 dry and den used lacqeur and also lefted it 2 dry den wen it was fully dry i touch it and den i was all sticky.thanks

After mine dried, it was sticky. Just because it is dry doesn't mean that it is fully cured yet. Make sure you give it a day or two to cure. Mine's not sticky anymore.
