Phil collins Genesis was good until the Mama album.... Phil is great and did an amzing job on the Gabriel vocal songs..ALL I MENT IS THEN COLLINS TURNED INTO THIS SLAP STICK POP CRAP THAT HE WANTED TO DO !!!.

I've always found this story pretty interesting. The band was supposed to play only the songs that were easier to learn, not being on tour for the last 2 years. The turn it on medley with additional musicians must have required lots of rehearsals, horns arrangements, etc. What happened? My guess is that gear setup in between bands are the bottleneck for this kind of festivals, so they opted to do a combined setup for both PC solo and Genesis, and one thing led to another...

i have always disliked phil fuckin collins,i was at this festival and everybody else did 1hr he did 1hr as himself plus 1hr as genesis + 1hr cos he took on the mantle of the blues bros(wtf have they got to do with him)he did the same at live aid and fucked up led zep(again wtf) plus when he was on i got separated from me mates and had to hich home alone glad to get that of my chest

Genesis and Phil are just great! Phil has a tremendous amount of charisma and confidence. How Genesis could audition 75+ people after Peter Gabriel left before choosing a guy sitting right behind them is remarkable. A great choice and I think there's a reason Mike and Tony stayed on. The success of Genesis and Phil individually blows Gabriel out of the water.

I was there, great day, great atmosphere, very smashed by Pink Floyd and then the rain came, stuck in car park at end to get home, would not have missed it for the world . Phil and Genesis my highlight but then they have always been my favourites. Elton and Paul not bad either, good to see Cliff with Shadows. A day never to forget!

The time signature is not in straight 4/4s. The song uses 5/4, 6/4 and 7/4 time signatures, which are extremely hare to dance to...

This concert was broadcasted in FM stereo to several stations in Europe. I was lucky enough in Portugal to record it...and boy was it worth it. In those days we didn't have Internet video, so I always wondered how great it would have been to actually watch it. Well I do now. Long live youtube

This benefit concert was for The Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy which does music programs for children and adults with Autism and other disabilities. Damn shame I live in the US and we didn't get benefit concerts with bills of that nature anymore.

this video is great but it is not complete. A few parts of the original 70' medley were cut out... Probably to keep the video under 10 minutes length or under a certain size... but that's a pity anyway... I was there...will never forget!
