PMDG MD-11 landing at Juneau, Alaska

Very nice video, i just got the "Taburet Photo Realistic Juneau" scenery, looks good, although i wish the airport buildings at PAJN looked more realistic, rather than the default fsx airport buildings.

im not shure about md11's but i think using reverse thrust under 80 knots puts excessive wear on the engines.

My suggestion, never ever listen to the default FSX ATC, I always fly alone with the SID's and STAR's. They are much more fun than just 'Turn left to 280, descend to 3500, turn to 310, climb to 4700, cleared for the Damn ILS over and over and over again. RNAV is more fun if you ask me ;)

pmdg: best simulation company ever!! To my mind, the landing was too hard, the people in the background are the callouts! if you cannot here them, check the soundcard driver and the pmdg md-11 settings! all in all, video is fine

Like ive said before nice one! But can you do a flight to TJSJ? Thats the intl aiport of where I live. Runway is pretty long. A short 200nm flight could be MDSD to TJSJ. It will be so cool to see you land in there! :)

Beautiful one! I would pull the plane a bit up when making the landing. Have you ever tried 35 flaps? Whats your approach and landing speed at 50 flps?

I had no choice about more flare on that landing cause i had decent fast to make the runway, as you might noticed Sink Rate Warning on Final. Typical Vref speed with flaps 50 is 151 knots. and with flaps 35, Vref is usually around 158,160 knots. I'll do flaps 35 on next video (:

An MD-11 is a great aircraft but i think they copied the newer airbus flight deck design the GPWS ( ground proximity warning system) that voice scares me

MD used "scariest" and most annoying GPWS , CAWS and call outs . and the cockpit is wholly MD's technology and design .

MD-11 was the first fully glass cockpit, although the 747 was around with other technologies. That is why the MD-11 was considered a very big competition to 747 in terms of safety!

Thanks, I use Window Movie Maker, my settings are , WMV file , 1920X1080 pixels, Aspect Ratio 16:9 and Frames per second [FPS] 30 . Hope this helps (:
