@impcookie The timber didn't come from any rainforest. It was sustainably-managed Swedish wood (mostly pine) from Sweden's vast plantation forests. The timber was loaded onto the Russian-registered ship at a Swedish port and was heading for Egypt when it got into difficulties due to bad weather.

I found out all this by googling on the net - only took a few seconds! :)

i made my chicken house and run out of that wood. nothing was wrong with it, just very heavy due to the water. i left it to dry for a couple of weeks and used it no problems.

It's dimensional lumber. If it was greenwood it would be fine if you get to it within a few days. Even if it was kiln dried you could just restack it and wait a week. It is still fine for framing.
