  • If you ever see this again immediately raise both arms shouting STOP STOP - a guard should not ignore this. If he does it may well be a meeting without coffee.

  • air con must have gone, gets hot in that cab.. hence door open a bit

  • Well spotted, you should have got a thank you, not shouted at.

  • That could have ended up being quite nasty

  • "DOOR!"

  • This is an example of why 'Spotters' should not just be canned-off all the time by Rail Staff. WELL DONE!

  • it isn't closed properly but it is on the first catch so it would probably be fine.

  • Hmmm, some RO2 not doing his/her job properly ! I don't think it was any big deal as the flourescent strip on the door edge wasn't showing, but let's hope for the sake of the RO2 that some eagle eyed signaller never noticed that handle !

  • whats a shame is that young people have such a bad (undeserved) reputation that the gentleman on the train probably ignored you. Well done though for doing what you could, nice video.

  • Trains get me off.

  • Tripod, go buy one. :P

  • just to clarify things, i work on theses coaches, the doors have a central door locking system, which is bolts that drop from top of the door, they will still drop and engage the door to stop it opening even if the door is on the catch, which you can see in this video. the cdl system is not linked to the brakes in any way. the guard and staion staff should ensure they are all shut , once the guard is happy he signals the driver to move. in all the years we have had door checks no one has failed.

  • HST doors are all Interlocked now so if the interlock couldnt hold it the train wouldnt of been able to move off as the interlock holds the brake on the train if that door did come open the brakes would apply auto as the interlock circuit would of been broken

  • The comment thread on here is full of crap! A door on the catch is a cause for a stop and examine, which is costly and cause delays. Doors on the secondary catch have been known to open at speed and pose a risk to passengers, staff and oncoming trains. This should have been reported IMMEDIATELY to allow for the correct action from station staff, the signaller and the traincrew.

  • Why Did you signal the train to stop ?

You are allowed if you can back up your reason for doing so, as in the DOOR IS OPEN !

  • Oooh got me on Facebook Eh? Friggin' Pedo... Why look at my Profile... You wanking over it?

Ive been on youtube to much lol.

  • @kezrat123 if you see my other videos, you'll notice this isn't my first hobby, thick prick

  • This is the saddest video I've ever seen. Depressing.

  • @Snortthesweetener too right, very :(

  • @Snortthesweetener loool, I had abit of trouble getting around the logic until I realised I landed in Trainspotting land and not the type of the movie although one could be excused for thinking you would need some serious prohibitted substances to be able to stand and film trains leaving a train station with this kind of enthusiasm.. But each to his own I guess...... Ps:@ Harbordman, You really cracked me up.

  • @GQmensah watching trains doesnt make me happy.. it's just another piece of transport for me, my main hobby is rallying, and always has been, i take an interest in all transport..

  • That's fuck all kid. At 5Secs if you look to the right hand side you can just make out that on the third floor of that building six windows in from the left shes left the oven on.

  • @harbordman FUCK YOU.

  • @Keegz2k7

    Train freak.

  • @harbordman i take that as a compliment mate, you wouldn't have the balls for my other hobby. driving through forests at huge speeds.

  • @harbordman AND SHE'S LEFT THE OVEN DOOR OPEN!!!

  • Also noticed the handle is in the down position too.... definitely NOT closed...

  • Its for someone to jump out at 125mph lol

  • the door is defiantly open the guard is a lire

  • same i seen that at yatton but it was on a buffet car

  • That door is not closed you can patently see the strip thats jutting out. Well done for spotting it though, shame one person didn't believe you.....

  • Thanks For Noticing!

from now on, im just going to let other ones believe what they want to!

i was just worried something might have happened that day lol.

    Keegan.

  • i work on the railway thats what we call a door on the catch

  • doe was closed. zip it.

  • sure the doe is closed. lol

  • Of course it's open! There's the metal inside of the door (or doe!) showing and the handle is hanging down. These are mark 3s aren't they?

  • The Door on coach G is open. When I wached with my Grandfather who is an ex FGW Driver he agrred that the door was open.

  • Cheers for the Comment, glad that someone knows their stuff

  • nice footage

  • Thanks,

Shame the Guard didnt believe me!

Someone Could have been seriously hurt or Killed that Day.

    Thanks,

    Keegan

  • if it was open then the orange lights would be up on the coach anyway.

  • it was clearly open though lol, cant you see? :S

  • the doors still on the catch though if there was a problem it would have been closed fully its not a big deal it happens regular

  • I bloody don't hope it happens regularly. Doors should not be on the catch on any kind of slam door stock. The central locking should be the last line of defence and not the first.

  • the light would not be on because if the steel bar is extended at the top of the door then the light will not come on

  • thanks.

  • I recently saw something similar on a service headed by a class 82 into Liverpool Street. Its amazing how common this is. You would have thought that the dispatcher would be able to see the flu resent yellow strip on the side of the door. Odd.... Dangerous, well maybe slightly. If the latch were to brake then who knows what would happen.

  • thats is dangerouse, and u speek welsh do u, rydw i yn siarad cymraeg hefyd, rwyn mynd i ysgol cymraeg, hwyl

  • helo, ydw, rhywn siarad cymraeg, a hefyd, rhwyn mynd i ysgol cymraeg :)

and yes, it is dangerous, i dont care if it on the catch, as IC125EG said, it is still dangerous!

    keegan

  • The door was on the catch, not completley open. When the train is dispatched it is under supervision of the train manager and in the case of HSTs two dispatchers usually. This is not unusual to be honest, I travel on a lot of HST and slam door stock and it is a regular occurence and it is easily missed. It will NOT get a person sacked so any notion any of you wish to do is not worth the effort. In other words, get a life!!!!

  • it was still open,

    i have a life thanks ;)

hence why i travel locally to watch trains, hah!

    now that's saying something :)

    regards,

    Keegz

  • 1. Railway firms are saying they need enthusiast for extra eyes and hears, yet when something goes wrong they dont give a damn

    2. if i was you i would have been evil and noted, the time, the date, the service and also put the name of the dispatcher (if he didnt give it you he would have been sacked anyway), but thats just me, i can be evil at times lol!

  • Haha!

    Well, you are right,

when a dispatcher does something wrong-they dont want to know!

i can't be evil :L FGW are tight gits

id probably be banned from cardiff central!

    Thanks for the comment,

    keegan

  • Me and some mates had a problem with a dispatcher at Didcot until we showed him our staff passes, that shut him up lol

  • haha; i bet,

they just want to get on with they'r jobs; they'r all grumpy!

i bet they dont even like they'r jobs.

  • I totaly agree, iys dangerouse

  • Love these colours! 5* and fave!

  • cheers lol :P

  • Nice footage. Love the colors.

  • thanks ,lol :P

  • send this vid 2 FGW, thats proof enough isn't it?

  • gah, they'll just bin it for security reasons..

    thanks for the comment

  • Scandalous! Surely the doors cannot lock shut unless they're properly closed.

  • thats what i thought

but, ive actually got some proof now, if i see it again, im not trying to act hard, but ill punch the guard

  • It's safety critical and should have been fully investigated. Swearing at a customer is appalling anyway. End of story.

  • yes! thanks for the comments.

  • Comment removed

  • Erm, dispatcher could (and should) lose his job for swearing at you! Instant dismissal for that - as is not acting upon a report of something that could jeopardise the safe running of a train.

  • yes, that's true, and thanks for the comment also, umm, the station manager came out after, and said i was lying!

  • i would boot that door closed

  • yeah, i think a guard done it, to save that dispatcher's ass

  • Nice vid mate,i was at a door that was just on the latch coming into exeter once, that was FGW too!

  • Hiya,Thanks for the comment, the guard wouldnt accept that it was Open..

they should check it twice, i think its disgusting

    and dangerous..

did you report the door already open?

  • Great vid! 5***** + favourited!

  • thanks ;)

  • That door deffo wasn't closed look at yellow line along top of carriage it doesn't align. If you ever see a door open again and train starts moving the best thing to do would be raise both hands straight up in the air and hope staff notice you. Also clear communication is key so shout loud make yourself heard and speak clearly enough to be heard just once, especially as train is picking up speed quickly so you have limited time to speak etc.

FGW should be congratulating you, not punishing!!

  • did u show the station staff the video

  • Nice one Keeg

  • thank you :) lol.

  • It looked closed to me -_- Haha kicked off the platform lol

I'm really struggling to understand what you're saying but I love your videos!

  • thanks, was it you that asked for the list of what i said in the hst brake tesT?

    sorry lol.

  • Yes mate it was. I feel embarrassed and guilty about it. Just do it in your own time; thanks :)

  • lol i thought it works on a interlock system

  • same here, but i saw it depart with an open door lol.

  • did he stop the train?

  • apparantly, and they "didnt find anything"

  • oh well maybe a person working in the buffet felt a draft and closed it

  • i reckon the train manager closed it,did you hear me shout? lol

  • ye lol

  • this is the video.
