  • Thanks for posting this. So beautiful...

  • Thank you starrman22.

Margaret Carrier Dillon was Pauline Tinsley's teacher and my teacher. A great woman; two great women...perhaps three.

  • In the 80's Pauline was singing the role of Elektra in Mannheim several times and I had the pleasure to play the timpanis in the orchestra. This was so fantastic. I loved her! She was so great. I never ever heard another Elektra again like her!!!

  • superb, I loved that

  • I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE HEARD HER IN MANY DIFFERENT ROLES BUT THE

TWO WHICH ARE STILL IN MY HEART ARE AS LEONORA (LA FORCE OF DESTINY) THERE WASN'T A DRY EYE IN THE HOUSE WHEN SHE STAGGERED DOWN THE STEPS OF THE MONASTRY, AND HER ELIZABETH TO BAKER 'S MARIA STUARDA. WAS STUPENDOUS. ELECTRIFYING AND TERRIFYING! A BRILLIANT SINGER AND ACTRESS .

  • her Kostelnicka was PHENOMENAL - i would say that the audience held it's collective breath at the end of the act 2 monologue ..... i know I did

  • Excellent.

  • This is so beautiful, thank you!

  • So beautiful, lovely tone and musical feeling. Thank you so much!

  • Thank you for this amazing singer!

  • What glorious glorious sining Pauline.

  • I think Lady MacBeth was one of her favourite roles and what a shame she was not recorded. Her Abigail was equally fantastic

  • bye the way, the coloratura of the "vieni affretta" in the Macbeth is still ringing in my ears and no-one else has ever come close not even Callas

  • without doubt one of the greats. first real opera singer i heard who `s voice filled the theatre as Lady Macbeth in Glasgow and who also filled europes biggest theatre the Liceo Barcalona in "der frau" she was brought by taxi at the last minute from Milan as a substitute and was the onlyone who vocally and dramatically belonged on that stage. what a treat for me (yes i was there ....long story...) so always for me there is a great place in my heart for this wonderful, wonderful singer.

  • Those Lady Macbeths in Glasgow were sensational... and I managed to see all of them (I was an usher at the Theatre Royal at the time!). Did you also see her Kostelnička and Elektra in Glasgow? Unforgettable!

  • Hi, thank you for posting Tinsley's voice on youtube. She is a great great singer

  • I was long ago (or still) tenor and we were together in Aida in Carré in Amsterdam with Götz Friedrich und Edo de Waart (holland Festival 71 or 72)

  • Where you a principal or chorus member? That must have been a great experience.
