@nicamy8988 I say the cops didn't need to hit so much because it was clearly unecessary once the guy turned around on the other side of the road. It was pretty dumb for the pickup truck to drive so far ahead when all he had to do was stop right in front. And all the two cruisers had to do was box in either side like they tried to do in the beginning. But no, they were fucking stupid and now have to wait to get their cars fixed which also is probably paid from my tax dollars.

@sleepersown im sorry have you been in that situation or multiple situations where you have first hand knowledge and experience? then you cant really say what they should have done and what was easier or not. actually accidents like that are usually handled through the offenders insurance if he doesnt have any then the gov has insurance which the court can also fine the person a certain amount of money for the repairs if the damage was necessary to apprehend the offender

When a vehicle being pursued goes into oncoming traffic, you don't take the time to do a "perfect" pit maneuver. You do whatever it takes to get him stopped, they did exactly that. Someone ought to teach these guys how to perform an actual PIT maneuver. If they had used it, they would have ended up with one slightly damaged unit instead of 3 moderately damaged units doing old school Hollywood side swiping. I'd guestimate this pursuit ended up costing the Texas taxpayers about $7000 in repairs instead of the $1000 it should have. That's an expensive game of bumper cars. The PIT. Learn it, live it, love it, use it.
