@SUSSTURUCU My fasting blood sugar changes day to day, there is so much that affects it! My A1C last time I went to the endo was 7.1 I think. I have never heard of a Postprandial Blood Sugar, what does that mean? I have Type 1, insulin-dependent, diabetes. How about you, do you have diabetes, too?
@DiabeticDanica Do you make Paleo Diet ? My mother is diabetic and she makes paleo diet..And she uses metformin...His A1C level decreased to 5,6 from 7,7...I think you must research it..
Postprandial Blood Sugar means the blood sugar after meals...When you eat any food, please look your blood sugar after 1 and 2 hours..it must below 140 mg/dl..
Now I don't know...My fasting blood sugar is 75-80 mg/dl...But my postprandial blood glucose is over of 200 mg/dl..
@SUSSTURUCU I don't have any diet. I have type 1, so all I do is count carbs. I don't have to limit my carbs, I just count them so I know how much insulin to give. It sounds like your mom might have Type 2. I don't take any oral pills, that's Type 2.
Again, my postprandial blood sugar would just depend on the day. I think you may be thinking of what a non-diabetic's blood sugars should be at those times. :)
@SUSSTURUCU Hmm.. that's interesting. Well, I hope the doctors figure out if its LADA or not! And that's great that you're researching to find out more. And yes I agree, a cure would be wonderful! :)
Aww, thanks so much! That is very sweet of you to say :)
Hi Danica i have had diabetes since i was four years old and i am now 34 as of yet i havent been able to get a pump but that should be changing quickly thanks to the company i now work for and the fact my diabetes has gotten so rediculously bad in the last few months. For the longest time i wasnt sure if i could handle being connected but the more i read and watch all the great videos out there the more i am sure i will have no problem. sorry this will be a long post :( continued below
@DecadeDiabnetic Wow, so awesome that you are getting the pump soon! I think you're gonna love it! :) animas is coming out with an integrated CGM soon, which I am so excited for because I really want one!! Let me know how u like the pump! :)
on top of that the awsome bonus of not having to take 8, 9, 10 or more shots a day would be sooooo wonderful LOL i am very interested in the Animas Ping and after watchin your vids i know its the one i want it would be great to have the CGMS which i hear animas should be gettin in our near future fingers crossed but after doing the research and watchin the many videos of the pumps i have to say that the Ping is the pump for me yes continued one more time and sorry for postin backard but i fixed
although my Endo is trying to push me into a Minimed Veo ( i think he may get a kickback for gettin his patients on it lol) but i believe that i am definitely going for the Animas Ping and hopefully in the next few weeks or perhaps a month i will join with my fellow diabetics and on my way to a healthier happier lifestyle :)

Hi Ive been Diabetic for seven years now and my doctors have been encouraging me to go onto the insulin pump and I really dont want to because I wouldnt reallu like having tubing hanging out of my body especially if I were to wear a dress I dont think it would look that great. Inless there are other ways of wearing the pump
@caitlindro27 I thought it would bother me having it attached to me all the time too, but most of the time I forget that it's even there!! And they have plenty of pouches and things so you can wear your pump with dresses. Some people even attach it to their bra. You should check out the Omnipod though, that one doesn't have any tubing. :)
Hi my name is kialeigh and i also have an Animas insulin pump i am acuttuly wearing it as i type this and its actully my first week. I just love it. All my friends are so insterted in it and there jealous because i have a device with me. If you want to talk about any thing i am 4444bently and just fried me so thats it bye.
@4444bently Hi! That's awesome that you just got a pump! :) And I'm so glad you like it, they really are amazing. :) We're friends now! Message me if you have any questions about it! :D
Hey, your videos are awesome. You're pretty much an expert on the disease. Your misconception videos are spot on too, I hope non-diabetics watch them lol. For me I just didn't like the idea of something being attached to me all the time. I figured why have it if I only need insulin when I eat, although I know you need the basal all the time. Also, I didn't want people to see it and know I was diabetic, im kinda insecure about it but im getting better. Plus I think I would break it..lol
@Scote001Jeep Thank you! I'm glad you like them :) I don't know if I'd call myself an "expert" but I do know quite a bit about it! lol. I hope non-diabetics watch them too! I thought it being attached to me would bother me too, but I was sursprised how fast I got used to it! I mean, most people have their phone with the at all times anyway. haha. Yeah, it is a big giveaway that you're diabetic, but really most people have no idea what it is! And they're pretty durable... (more on next comment)
@Scote001Jeep But if something does happen to it, they'll send you another one! Thanks for your input, its interesting to see people's views on it! And thanks for watching! :D
hahhah u crack me up!!' pumpms r cool'' where r u from...watch my video and see how u like mine..i think its so much fun making videos son diabetes and pumps!! its under ( insulin pump and the email is ilovesunshine85@gamil.com ) cool..hope to hear from you!!!
@ilovesunshine85 Haha thank you! :P I'm from the West Coast (U.S.). Nice, I just watched your two insulin pump vids! i'm planning on doing a video on changing my pump set too! Great job, it was interesting to see how the minimed set change works, its actually got quite a few differences from the animas!! Is there a part 3?
Thinking about it. Have been diabetic for 30 yrs have been doing the "poor man pump" for at least 10 years now. I am so sick of the 5-7 shots a day. I also am not sure about having it attached all the time. I can put the bag down and walk away for awhile. I am also hating the fact that I am going to have to fight the insurance co for it. Did you say it can read your glucose level too?????
@nailsbynancy Wow, that's a long time! I would be sick of shots too!
I thought it would be weird to have it attached to me all the time too, but its crazy how much you get used to it!! You don't even feel the infusion set once it's in and having your pump with you is just like keeping your cell phone with you! Yeah, that was just my insurance that gave us trouble, it's probably different with eveyone. As long as your endocrinologist is on board, you should be able to do it.
@nailsbynancy Sorry, the last comment was too long so here's the rest:
My pump can't read my blood sugar, but when I check with my meter, my pump and meter are connected. So I can give insulin from my meter, like a remote control. If I had a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor), then that would read my glucose level and show up in my pump.. I don't have on of those though!! I kinda want one though! :D
I am wondering your Fasting Blood Sugar,A1C level and Postprandial Blood Sugar...Can you say me ?
And which type of diabetes have you got ?

@DiabeticDanica And after 5 years, I can be Type-1 diabetic..Doctors wanted specific tests from me..But I haven't still done it..
If I have LADA,after 5 or 10 years I will have type-1 diabetes like you..
Hence,I am researching to diabetes in everywhere..
I hope that boffins will solve with stem cells to this nightmare..
YOU ARE THE MOST BEAUTİFUL DİABETİC GİRL I HAVE EVER SEEN..
Your eyes are wonderful :))
