@Pwells1 they actually are making a new movie that is supposed to come out next year.....but I think they said they wanted it to be live action mixed with CGI....I hope it has a darker theme like this one, well this one wasn't incredibly dark or gritty, but it had that light tone of darkness to it.....oh and they did make a copmletely CGI turtles in 2007 a few years ago
This one was the darkest of 3 and maybe was the first time (you can argue ghotbusters) that chidlren's heroes were starred in such a dark picture. The best recent example of course would be batman begins and dark knight. It just makes for a better movie and allows you to take mutant turtles and guys that dress as bats uch more seriously.
despite the fact that even though the entire Foot army was not able to defeat the turtles, Shredder did it by himself, he was a ninja master, and Shredder is much older than the turltes and therefore is at a disadvantage to them and he still kicked their ass. so seriously, why was he such a wimpy bitch in the second one?
STUPID PARENTS!!! lol... its there fault they didn't use the weapons as much in the other movies. they complained that this one was to violent for kids..
@freemikeg It's called Shredder's Suite. Starts off with the enter the Shredder music, but this stuff starts at around the middle of the track. And it's epic :)
This movie brings back so many memories as a kid. I also think the Shredder is still incredibly bad-ass, Even with all 4 turtles taking turns, Leo was the only one who even managed to even injure him.
I love the music that plays during this scene (its part of Shredder's suite on the soundtrack well I'm unsure if the Burning Apartment scene that it plays at and this scene here are different or one in the same though) anyways I love the music that plays during this fight its one of the reasons that this scene is My favorite part of the movie, its just sounds and feels so epic to hear the music that plays during this scene with the aweomse moves during this fight between the Turtles and Shredder
*Continued* I have to say I love John du Prez's work on the instrumental music in this film, I really think the music during this scene should have been an independent track as it really deserves to be.
@Thenumber1yoshi I have the soundtrack on LP (vinyl) and yes, shredder's suite is an epic amazing track, I keep and keep spinnin' the LP listening to it !! Going to the theatre in the 80s and 90s was much much more fun than today's whimpy CGI movies! We need a new live action turtles WITHOUT CGI!
@shairaptor Yeah now even worse is when they combine the CGI cartoony look with live action people making the characters look very out of place like Garfield and Scooby Doo and the upcoming Yogi Bear movie. The Turtles looked just fine in this film with Jim Henson doing his creature shop to bring the Turtles to life in this movie I mean what ever happend to the stuff like Jim Henson's creature shop in movies like this one? I mean are we really going to be lazy and use CGI replace *2bcont.*
@shairaptor *Continued* I mean are we really going to be lazy and let CGI replace stuff like the hard work that was used to bring the Turtles to life in this film here? Sorry but I have to say movies looked much better without using CGI as an easy way out of everything in films.
@Thenumber1yoshi You are so right! CGI looked good on Jurassic Park and Dragonheart, but then they exaggerated! We need real men & women doing real action with real life puppets as it looked amazing in the 1990s Turtles movie. The CGI Turtles movie with Klaus Badelt music was so bad and looked way too artificial and ugly. Also yes, CGI combined with real action looks often so out of place like Garfield etc. Btw isn't there a new Turtles movie in the making? :)
@shairaptor Yeah its due sometime in 2012, hopefully before the December of that year, its just I'm so afraid of the end of the world date that was said to be in that year, all I do know is that I heard the world ends sometime in December in 2012, but everyone tells Me the mayan or whatever calendar is off by a long while, anyways the new TMNT film is due sometime in 2012, though I'm not sure if Nickelodeon having the rights to the Turtles now will affect how the new film will be.
@Thenumber1yoshi That 2012 thing is nonosense, everyone believing in that BS is weak in his mind and superstitious! Anyway I'm looking forward to the movie, turtles rock! :)
@Thenumber1yoshi I looked it up for ya, the Mayan calender doesn't even say that for one thing. The other thing is that I think that if they were able to predict the end of the world they would be able to predict when the Spanish would come and take over.
That or they just were planning on making a new calender when that one ended. Just never found the need is all.
If something was gonna happen though the Turtles would stop it. Probably what the movie is about. XD
too bad they killed the turtles with the cartoon remake that came out like 2-3years ago and cause i was big fan of the original cartoons i had to watch the new one and i was really disapointed if im able to do a remake ill make sure its like the first movie only more action plus with it would be in our present time :) wish me luck
if this movie was made today, the camera would be ultra close and sped up so you couldn't actually see the moves, thank goodness for some of the action movies of way back when, when you could see every bit of the action
yeah casey cool but the fight should have been longer, i like how shredder kicked they ass, it much better than the original cartoons wen shredder was a clown (i like the tv series but watching it now, shredder was like a clown lol) and the new cartoon series also, shredder a more believeable bad guy i like the tmnt but they cant beat every1 all the time no matter how great they are
Great fight scene, the only thing is its way too short. And the cutt-way showing Casey ramming the dumptruck into the building ladder to stop the Footclan takes away too much of the action. Anyone agree with me???
i like this one better than the other two because this one has more on edge with the fighting, dialogue and the music. the others were too kiddy. even tho this was a fictional story, the content was all on some real shit. if u aint a movie buff, this comment got u lost in the sauce nigga!!!
I remeber watchin this part as a kid and thinkin this battle was top, the music in the back ground makes it epic. music in background (Shredders Suite Theme Song)
YEAH!! Leonardo cuts him! He was the best! I remember in all the fight sequences he usually had to rely on punching and kicking people or losing his katanas in the fight. Actual contact from those weapons would be too bloody for a PG movie.
i dont know why, but i really like this movie as well as the second one. i watch them almost all the time and i'm not sure why. i guess they're jus cool lol. love this lil fight scene. i thinks its awesome.
i always found it funny how leo was the first one to take off running but was the last one to actually get to shredder as if he slowed down to let his brothers go into danger first lmao
I've found it more weird when The Shredder just actually walks around with his spear instead of fighting the TMNT, since he can beat them all over here... Fancy letting them sit together and discuss about what to be done next and etc...
"They need to make another Live Action movie but have The Shredder AND Krang."
The first movie had a pretty mature atmosphere like the comics.Because of that they probably thought no one would be able to take a talking brain seriously, especially in a 1990 movie.
That's probably why not many other of the animated series villians made it into the movies. They wanted to keep them mildly realistic.
Although I really do believe that baddies like Baxter Stockman and Rat King could be done.
If this were made today, the Turtles would be all CGI and talk like Jar Jar Binks. FACT.

Hmm the track Shredder's Suite sounds slightly different from the on I post look ---->

The reason the turtles just couldnt even get 1 hit on shredder (besides leo's lucky hit) was they fought mad.

If you look carefully at 1:11 you can see that Shredder was fighting Rapheal instead of Leonardo for a second.
