My iphone 4 fell off the top of my car into the middle of the highway last week. I watched it get run over twice by cars going about 55mph before i could get to it. The otterbox is broken in two places but my phone is fine. Not even a scratch or a crack in the screen! True story. Otterbox saved my phone.

Why didn't you actually DRIVE over it two or three times? You ran over it once, and at a very slow speed. If this thing was out on a road where it would likely have been run over multiple times with cars at speed, both the iPhone and the case would've been crushed beyond repair. Not much of a test, really

Haha funny shit. The case survived but the phone didn't. Being that a case is supposed to PROTECT the phone, it looks like the phone protected the case from being crushed. Makes you wonder what exactly it is you're protecting...

No the important thing is the motherboard and the back housing survived. Without the case the iPhone would not have been repairable. If you can not fix the motherboard the iPhone is toast. The screen and LCD are easy to replace. Point is, the case protected the phone enough to where it could be fixable. Check out the videos on youtube when the iPhone gets run over without any protection.
