  • so cool...would like to see some bigger rockets though

  • Comment removed

  • @nosajj12345 Are you retarded? If the nose was straight up it would be climbing at a 90 degree angle, moron.

  • I live in Mexico and I don't think see this alive, that would be a miracle The Blue Angels come to Mexico....mmmmm don't think so...

  • I remeber walking up to the airshow in Pittsburgh a few years back just as this thing fired the rockets and took off. It was fuckin amazing to see.

  • They don't hav jato anymore :(

  • I saw Fat Albert take off by this method on one occasion at an air show. I had no idea about the rockets, so when the went off and that thing angled up to 45(+) degrees with all the noise put out by those rockets it was quite spectacular.

If you ever get the chance to see it in person definitely do it. While these videos are great they're nothing compared to the real thing.

  • @Ike1727 well yeah that's what an AC-130 is but those guns (the 105mm, 40mm, and 2 mini-guns) mounted on there weigh a lot, plus all the ammunition. Probably too much for that particular plane because an AC-130 is a gutted C-130 with some heavy fire power and targeting computers.

  • FAT FUCK ALBERT

  • Put some big ass guns on there and you got an AC-130

  • there are some morons on here conservatives<

  • Chuck Norris going to work.

  • Krass! Wie bei nem Windenstart mit einem Segelflugzeug O.o

  • i thought that the blue angels were navy ... why does it say marines on the wing ??

  • The USMC is actually part of the Navy.

  • @IrishMagpie88 lol. thanks :)

  • 0:39 Reno Air Races? Was that filmed at the 2010 races or earlier?

  • Saw them yesterday at an airshow for the first time. It was amazing

  • @bobodd. One forest fire pumps more carbon into the atmosphere on 2 hours than that plane will over it's whole lifetime.

  • They no longer do the JATO takeoff due to the depleted supplies of rockets. They don't produce them anymore.

  • wonder why the stoped the jato in florida

  • Just saw them today! They RULE!

  • @fishingwiththenerd Battle Creek? Saw them too!

  • i wanna be a fat albert or at least have one

  • I wonder, do the Blue Angels ever fly along side Fat Albert to a venue?

  • Fat Albert just farted.

  • Its too bad they dont do this anymore...they do a high performance takeoff, but no JATO.

  • it also pumps out a lot of pollution and fumes into the atmosphere causing global warming and extreme weather

  • @bobodd5 human existence contribute to global warming also.

  • @bobodd5 you realize that there is no such thing as global warming...

  • I love my albert! Thank you Mr Saul.

  • there not called rockets they are JATO rockets or Jet Assisted Take Off (JATO)

  • @EpicFlailurific wow, Contradiction much.

  • thats fucking crazy man hahha holy shit

  • That's amazing. I didn't even know that something like this is possible.

  • @LordSteinchen they use thesse on AC130s too.

  • @LordSteinchen when it comes to the US Armed Forces anything is possible

  • 0:40 thunderbird 2; blast off

  • YEAHAAAA ALBERTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I've flown in that. Theres a clear dome in the top right behind the wings I could look out. Scariest thing I've ever done...

  • take notes, wily coyote

  • the olny time I would think they might feel wieghtlessness would be the top arch once they level off

  • How do they experience weightlesness??? Isn't the contrary of that?

  • FUCK WITH IT!

  • I crossed the Washington border to watch the Blue Angels fly at Whidbey Island, Fat Albert doing that crazy high angle take off was definitely a high light. We were like whaaat O.O

  • that needs to come to tinker afb in oklahoma

  • I go to see Fat Albert.

  • 140,000 miles - about as much as a busy long haul trucker or a part time team.

  • They can land and take off a C-130 from a Carrier without JATO bottles.

  • why dont the do that on carriers?

  • @BillyCarleton Costs wayyy... to much money. As a matter of fact, Fat Albert doesn't do nitro take offs anymore.

  • @theloopholeisntaahol how valuable would it be to luanch a c-130 o even an AC-130 from a carrier though

  • Ah Fat Albert. You made my day when I was 7.

  • wow nice

  • IN AUSTRALIA WE CALL THEM BATTLE HERCES

  • @d9andy992 No we don't...

  • i wish i had the booster for my plane

  • Bring to afghanistan with a 105! LOL

  • This is a great ride- I got to ride at the Indianapolis Airshow -

  • hmmm, this c-130 isnt terrifying enough. lets attach fucking rockets too it. gota love the yanks some times.

  • hahaha id like a cockpit view of the pilots when that kicks on

  • Also note that the JATO is NOT needed to perform the flight profile flown by Fat Albert. The C-130 is capable of the same profile without them, just don't have the ohh and ahh for the crowd that has no aviation clue.

  • Blue Angels no longer do JATO take-offs with Fat Albert has nothing to do with Obama. It has to do with, no one makes the JATO bottles anymore, and they are one and done type bottles(can't be refilled) There is a limited supply left. So The Blues were restricted from using them to allow the supply to be used where needed. On the ice. The NY ANG unit that deploys to Antarctica needs them for take-offs there for certain missions.

  • @P3SuperBee I was the Logistics Mgr at the Air Show in Indianapolis I think was about the last time JATO was used- I got to ride on practice day - WOW

  • @P3SuperBee Any reason that the US isn't manufacturing anymore bottles?

  • What The...

  • I could just see charlie sheen in there having shit fall all over the place hahaha.. hot shots ambulance scene..

  • Thanks Obama...Since they no longer do this due to $ reasons. Hope you like the video cause you'll never see this again, but hey atleast juan and maria can have the best of medical care with there 6th illegal kid here. Thumbs up right?

  • @TowManSKS You're blaming Obama for no more JATO with this specific plane?? Are you retarded or just looking for another asinine way to bash Obama? I'm not really a fan of him, but c'mon. That is just an extremely stupid equation to draw.

  • HEY HEY HEY!

  • They experience weightlessnes when the plain levels horizontaly very quickly.

  • at the end it says the crew members can experience weightlessness.. this is incorrect. at a 45 degree ascent gravity would be doubled.

  • Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat Albert!

  • I remember hearing something about a limited supply of the rocket cylinders. They only have so many. They're going to have to start feeding the Herc Tabasco ™ sauce.

  • i'd laugh if there put those on backwards

  • BAD!!!

  • must be bad for the paint on the plane

  • haha dwight, havent seen you in a while.

  • I love it!

  • awesomeness!!!!!!!!!!!! =P

  • holy shit..

  • now do a barrel roll

  • Impressive, but what's the point of reaching 1500 feet, then normal climb?

  • @rich0319726 Check out the "CREDIBLE SPORT" PROGRAM on YT.

  • dont mess with the marines

  • @fieryfoxproductios yeah, you shouldnt! They even use a precision torque tool to fasten the bolts that hold the rockets ... oh no wait ... they don't ...

  • HEY, HEY, HEEEEEYYYYY!

  • Is it necessary? No. Is it absolutely bad ass? Yep.

  • Damn, this booster need I for my car! ;-)

  • @thalgauloveitII Yeah, forget the NOS. Get this. Haha.

  • @thalgauloveitII i saw that in some movie

a guy bought a turbine exactly like that from two guys played by the mythbusters

and he put it on his car and he crashed after a huge jump

    xD

  • @thalgauloveitII stfu

  • @thalgauloveitII you wouldent have a car. lol

  • it's sad, the Blue Angels no longer do those JATO performances anymore :(

  • holy crap i always thought those rockets were small those things are big as hell

  • i just seen fat albert today 9-5-10..at cleveland national airshow.hes quite agile for a fatty..lol

  • Did they do the JATO takeoff? I heard they stopped doing it.

  • @YakFest no they didnt..i dont know why but it was a normal take off.

  • @YakFest I asked them at an airshow last year and they said they don't do the jato takeoff anymore. It sucks, I know. :(

Still, outside of that the show does rock.

  • blue angles do only stuntshow .. or not ? around the wold or only usa?

  • @asildhgioshdgioashdi They can be ready for combat in i think 45 minutes, and i dont know about worldwide air shows

  • blue angels..dream job...

  • they should put those on regular c-130 and c-17's and c-5's

  • @3ISAMAGICNUMBR. They do put them on regular cargo planes. They were designed to assist cargo planes take off of an aircfart carrier. The president's plane uses them once in a great while, too, if the president lands to visit an aircraft carrier (altough, he usually uses Marine One to do that)

  • wow getting a c130 to go at a 45 degree angle thats impressive

  • some sort of problem with youtube here, this video wont play for me, it appears to get stuck, im guessing its on a "bad sector" of the server maybe

  • pimp my c130.

  • called JATO

  • lol! the fat albert!!!

  • VERY VERY NICE VIDEOS TOV TODA

  • i LOVE C130s

  • I want that baby

  • We used to do that except it was at a dead stop, It would be off the deck in 800 feet!! Boy you can feel that thrust in your chest!!

  • NICE!!!

  • Holy shit thats very very impressive

  • AMERICA....FUCK YEA

  • this used to be my daily driver

  • Such a cool take off

  • I saw this back in 06 in miramar. Awesome to watch

  • this is not rocket its a missiles!

  • ive seen fat albert land, BACKWARDS!

  • strong g-forces

  • nice i dont know it is posibel

  • I rode on Fat Albert twice, once in 2001 and once in 2002 with the JATO Rockets. It was an amazing experience, especially going weightless.

  • hugefukinstepring u will i did at reno air races

  • im gonna be riding in this on sunday! :) I hope i dont get sick lol

  • enemy ac-130 above! (jk) really cool!

  • HAULING ASS!

  • Hahaha , my name is Albert :-)) I like it. Btw, i have proposed to our principals to install these rockets onto our airplanes :-)

  • epic

  • i want the blue angels to come to britain :(

  • Do you guys have anything like this in England?

  • yea we do we have the epic red arrows!

  • oh nice, yeah. ive seen red arrows footage before. they are pretty legit

  • i watched this tv show once where the red arrows went against the blue angels they both looked brilliant together!!

  • Comment removed

  • fat albert is part of the blue angels HE IS SICK i have seen him live at the air show in washington dc it was awesoem :DDDD

  • I know the marines came from the navy, is Fat Albert Navy or a Marine aircraft or are they all lumped in together.

  • It's a marine aircraft. Look at :30 the marine crest is on the side.

  • the pilot also has USMC on his chest

  • Great start to the Blue Angels. There are two types of aircraft: Fighters and Targets!

  • those rockets can get that thing airborne in 500ft. i fly small single engines planes that cant even come close to that.

  • @btbdby19

i flew a maul recently and it'll take off as short as anything i've ever flown. it wont touch this. i've ridden in a standard c130. and just watching this video is astounding. it's like a bumble bee. it shouldn't work but it does. and it absolutely astounds me

  • If u get a chance, fly a piper cub, like 30 feet man and your up.

  • it sounds like the narator is Harm from JAG

  • Thats right Man.

  • @saulpilot David James Elliot! :)

  • I was just about to say that!

  • Huh?

  • I saw the Blue Angels in the summer of '09 at the airshow in Janesville, WI. It was well worth the 2 hr trip to get there! I miss going to air shows when my dad was active duty USAF.

  • I went to the airshow in Ellingto Field and got all 8 of the pilots' autographs. Fat Albert Rocks!

  • i love watching this thing fly.

  • i went to a air show and got their autographs

  • i saw them on the water, during fleet week, its the best

  • last time i saw the angles i was 9 im 16 now i was in loveland

  • just saw it today at elington it was tight

  • If you like the Blue Angels, grab the DVD series 'Blue Angels: A Year in the Life'....Get a real up close feel of the planes and the pilots.

  • I'm praying like crazy that the weather holds up for wings over houston, jato is being used then. I've never seen the blue angels in person before, Im super excited!

  • Im going to wings over houston too! I'll be filming it and it will be my first time to see the blues! :D Cant wait!

  • I witnessed this plane take off last week (in person) and it was one of the most incredible things I have ever seen. To see such a HUGE plane climb into the air so fast was amazing. Great show!!!

  • No More JATO at the end of 2009

  • Why?

  • No more Jato bottles :(

  • Why?

  • ~tear this year at the air races in nevada is the last time there going to use jato for taking off waaaa

  • wow

  • lol a plane landed behind him :):)

cant u jst install jet engines, wdnt that make it faster and able to takeoff more easily?

  • Actually it woudnt, the wind up of the jet engines would take longer. Also, there are some airstrips that are VERY short. The boosters allow a sharper climbing angle but almost instant power.

  • jet engines don't produce very much power at low speeds, whereas props do. jet engines become more efficient and produce more power at higher speed.

  • they are fired from the cockpit. the main function is for short takeoffs.

  • i mean who fires the rockets?

  • yep, and seafair was great with the Blues!!!

    greetings from Germany

  • that's in seattle!

  • lol now I wish I would have taken the opportunity to ride it when I had the chance! My friend said he didn't feel good afterwards though.

  • That looks good But when it comes to displays theres nothing better than the RAF`s Red Arrows.

  • wow i guess nothing can have blue angels on it unless it has rockets or after burners,... the hand writing pens on there desks probley have rockets also

  • Imagine if they did a high speed pass with the rockets at full power lol

  • they did at the jax naval air show last year

  • it's called JATO. Jet Assisted Take Off
