Look, I'm not sure what doesn't really work for me with these guys: I'm a dyed-in-the-wool AC/DC fan, and yet I LIKE Hayseed Dixie's covers, and to be honest, I enjoy Paul Anka's rendition of "Black Hole Sun" *more* than Soundgarden's, and as much as I respect Trent and NIN, Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt", etc.etc.
...but this? Um, I dunno - I like ukes & mandolins, but maybe it's the mild, soft 'pop music' vocals that just ruins it. Sorry.
