GM made shitty cars! I had a new '80 Citation which over the first six months spent more time in the shop than on the road. At month six, I opened an escrow account and told GMAC they'd get their money when the car was fixed. By the time GMAC came for the money or the car, it wouldn't even start. GMAC recoursed it back to the dealer who resold it and billed me for the repairs, all of which should have been covered by the warranty - but weren't (fixed). If GM goes under, I couldn't care less.

Because I cannot stand GM. For one they always took all money out of relatives/friends wallets. They are poorly built (hint hint, the cheap plastics and the high repair bills) and for one, the only reason their sales shot up was because of OnStar. haha

Lol...w/e Japanese automakers will not go out of business anytime soon. I am just hoping Ford doesn't go out of business now because I have a Ford Focus and I don't feel like getting another car for a long time (my first car btw) but seriously...I could care less if GM leaves. Why like them if they are so cheap? I don't understand.............. -.-

I am a 21 year old american. And ive owned both Jap and US cars. And US Cars are at least 10 years behind the japs. This is coming from an auto tech. While i hope they dont dispeare. GM will go bankrupt sooner or later cuz the hole they dug. GM and Ford are not america. When u sale crappy stuff and dont listen to the people. Thats no longer american. They need this bankrupcty to find out wat it is

Fuck all of You!!! Being a gm employee at the dealership level I am confident in there current prodution and have seen the plans for the future. Yes the cars will be smaller, it is not there fault for our dependency on oil. Get your fat ass out of the drivers seat and walk or ride a bike and then check your wallet at the end of the weak.

GM made shitty cars! I had a new '80 Citation which over the first six months spent more time in the shop than on the road. At month six, I opened an escrow account and told GMAC they'd get their money when the car was fixed. By the time GMAC came for the money or the car, it wouldn't even start. GMAC recoursed it back to the dealer who resold it and billed me for the repairs, all of which should have been covered by the warranty - but weren't (fixed). If GM goes under, I couldn't care less.

GM should have been working on hydrogen fuel cells or at least hydrogenated fuel cars like hundreds of people are already doing on YouTube (search hydrogen generator) instead of figuring out how to add more coffee cup holders to SUVs. For years they have been merciless to mechanics and body men about keeping the reparability in their cars, I for one do not feel sorry about their problems and have predicted what is happening now. ~ John B

This company had a ten year head start on an electric car and pissed it away. If I was a shareholder I would fully expect them to keep selling those joke SUVs with their massive profit margins throughout the 1990's when oil was cheap and the consumer was a traitorous idiot. However, at least have a electric car ready to be put into mass production when peak oil hit. Peak oil was hardly a surprise, National Geographic devoted two cover stories to it 3 and 4 years ago.

GM sabbotaged and killed their electric cars in the 90s and sold the NiMH patent they swindled the original owners into selling them to Chevron who then made sure Toyota who had developped an even better battery for their Rav4EV would be sued until they dropped production of the Rav4EV and their better NiMH battery packs.
GM can go fly a kite, Chevron meanwhile should be forced to drop any rights to the NiMH patent they are using to keep us addicted to their oil crack cocaine

Their new line of trucks & suv's look like a wet bloated shoe box on wheels & they are produced with the cheapest materials possible. These trucks have way to many quality issues & the price tag for them is off the charts!!! It's no wonder they are in big trouble.
