1. greyhounds are trained to chase small fluffy animals

2. when you get your greyhound you are told NEVER let it of the the lead out of the home

3. you are also told if you are going out and you know there will be other animals around in close quarters to ALWAYS put a muzzle on it !!!

And yes, it was a pissing contest the first year I did this, but now it's all about showing the public other breed attacks because the media won't, and letting YOU see how big problem of dog attacks really is.

My children have their own feelings. They have pit bulls here, and a German Shepherd at their dads house. They love all of them.

Yes, greyhounds are bred to chase. YOU SAID IT ! Therefore why demonise any dog? Blame the owner for letting the dog free to chase. The breed is a gentle one. Pitbulls who attack are TAUGHT to do so by irrisponsible owners. A dog will act in the way it has been taught, grey hound or pitbull - HOWEVER - some breeds are naturally more agressive , some are more passive. Stop hating on a gentle breed. And to show pic a of a racing dog is misleading. They run so fast their mouth falls open

Why would someone bring a puppy to a dog park? There are safer places for socialization. Hopefully that park has a separate section for small dogs, so that another ankle-biter doesn't get hurt playing with the big dogs (any breed of big dog).

I owned 2 greyhounds and they were never vicious! One of them retired from racing and she was never vicious! They are only that way if you teach them to be that way. My dogs were loving and kind!

No, I work with greyhounds every weekend with the Retired Greyhound Trust and greyhounds and truly the most wonderful breed of dogs. This is an unfortunate situation, but why was the greyhound off the lead if he couldn't be trusted with other dogs? BLAME THE OWNER, the dog can only learn if he is taught properly. greyhounds are not vicious animals.
