You can still charge Nissan Leaf with 110/120V charging and not have Level 2 charger installed. So, you're not limited with installing a limited selection of Level2 chargers before buying a Nissan Leaf, because you can still do it anytime later.
An update from Sherry: I'm told Nissan will sell a quick-charge (Level 3) station for around $17,000 (significantly lower than the $50,000+ prices I'd heard before). With tax incentives covering half the cost (at least through 2010), that may be appealing to commercial sites that want to offer quick charging to customers or fleets, but it still probably isn't the best option for residential communities.
