The Lone Gunmen rocked. Was definitely before it's time in terms of quirky humor. Check out the overview of the series on the RobotCrypt site. Just google RobotCrypt and it should be one of the first stories published there.
Great show. But I think what killed them was the show itself.
Not saying I wasn't a fan, but it's like having them as a spin off kinda wasn't too good of an idea.
Just imagine the very small character of Paul from Cheers. The old bold guy that sat in the back of the bar that said three words a season got his won show. Wouldn't last. Be interesting to see what he does, but not for a real show.
@scottieman2 I disagree. The producers said part of the problem was the that this was made a bit AFTER the X-Files's popularity had peaked, which I think makes sense. The show actually still got better ratings than the X-Files did in its own first season.
@toddsmitts Not saying I don't like the show. I do love it. Just saying that seemed a bit weak a little. Just wish it had more then a few episodes and they killed off the characters. It's like really? I wish it was still on. I love the characters.
The show became better and funnier with each episode. Especially Jimmy Bond was cool. Jimmy Skinner or when he meets Mulder. Oh man, I'll miss this show.
It did well when it had The X-Files Sunday at 9pm timeslot but when they came back and 'The Lone Gunmen were moved to Fridays that was the beginning of the end.
If Fox had moved their news to 11 like normal channels, The Lone Gunmen could have taken the 10pm Sunday slot and probably stayed on for a second season. Why don't they ever ask the fans?
Had the pleasure of meeting Dean Haglund at a recent Media Show this past April and he is one hell of a friendly guy....We hit it off like two old friends !
I love this song, and this show more. I wish they'd kept it on, but I guess that's what happens when the only slot you can get is Friday night when no one watches. T_T
One of the best TV Series and only 13 parts...shame.
I want more!

@SylverNuckelavee Fix tends to cancel all brilliant shows. Take firefly for example.

Seems like Fox always cancels the good shows that aired on Friday nights - The Lone Gunmen, Dark Angel, Tru Calling, Dollhouse...

I wish they'd release the DVD set in Germany, I really do! But more than that I wish this show had more seasons, it was really good.

MrsHarkness89 2 years ago
actually, their are 3 spin-offs of X-Files, ThE Lone gunmen, Harsh realm, and millennium :)
hughiegrant 2 years ago
actually Harsh Realm has nothing to do with X-Files, it was only created by the same guy.
