Just look at the "wide screen black bars" on the screen, the same thing when you see a video on the landscape vision. Would be really cool to have a Mario Kart for iOS, and the Ipod, Ipad and Iphone have the hardware for that, considering the graphics of games like Asphalt 6: Adrenaline or 9MM. Is just a matter of patience and persistence for some Programer or Desingner to do such a thing.
