Good job; I remember when the girls in my choir sang this song. The first soprano's are over powering the second's, and you can barely even hear the alto's. Other than that, good job.

I think you're right about balance in the ranges, however I have found that about 3 good first soprano's can completely overpower 5 or 6 seconds even while holding back. We have that exact problem with my choir, and we're international champions ;)

sounds a little young...especially the sopranos, and the sopranos are singing to loud so you can't hear the other parts as well as they should be heard

the reason you can't hear the alto part is because it's written for three female parts, two soprano parts and one alto.
