Joe won this fight!! Ali told Dundee he wanted to quit at the same time Futch told Joe he was throwing in the towel. If that ain't enough, after it was called off Ali feinted in his corner...if they had gone one more round Ali would have feinted and Joe would have won!
Another thing, the cut em off myth actually is confused with the first Liston fight. Liston blinded the young Ali and Ali couldn't see anything so he asked Dundee if he cut off his gloves so could protest to the ref about Liston's tactic. Dundee told Ali after the 14th round "You've got him, you've got him baby" after Ali punished Frazier in the 14th and was close to knocking him out. Its sad how people like you say something that has never been stated.
Asiatic 1979 Stop lying to yourself about Ali saying he was going to quit. HE HAS NEVER STATED SUCH A THING. He gave Frazier his props by saying things like "closest thing to death I have felt" or "I felt like quitting after the 10th, I didn't know Joe had so much stamina". Ali, Dundee and his entire corner has always shot down the rumor that was made up by the bitter Frazier corner. Dundee's words, "how can they make a statement like that, Ali didn’t say a word in the corner after the 14th".
Eddie Futch is a great trainer, a great guy, but.. he should've never thrown the towl in the ring, Smokin' Joe would've won, or ali would've end up dead

these guys were so incredibly tough it doesn't make sense. How the hell can you fight for 14 rounds like this. a lot of people could die from a fight like this it's so brutal constantly absorbing hard shots like these and still fighting back. You can't get any more "man" than these guys. Great men but both of them suffered or are suffering from the effects of it.
Ali did state at sometime that he would have quit if Frazier wouldn't have quit so, it's not false info. That's the same interview where he stated it was the closest thing to death. It might have been on the Champions Forever tape where he stated it. It shocked me to hear him say it because I'm such a big Ali fan. He also said he would have quit against Norton if he thought his jaw was really broken in the 2nd rd of their 1st fight.
I understand his concern for Frazier, but to stop the the fight at round 14... really? Just let him finish the fight... one more round. But whatever he knows more than I about the situation.
Mrmiloha, don't bring wrong information about this fight. Ali has never said he wanted to quit, you should do your research and stop bringing up such a false myth that has circled on the net. Ali said this was the closest thing to death that he knew of and the incredible battle gave him thoughts of quitting, and that was in the 10th round! Thats completely different than saying he wanted to quit. Such a myth was made up by Frazier's corner years after the fight. Get the facts straight.

@terminator12ish Fights don't stop over a lost mouthpiece. It happens all the time. And there was no "they". Eddie Futch smartly stopped the fight on his own. The last thing Fraizer had to worry about was his cut lips. He was swollen to blindness in one eye, losting sight in the other, and taking very hard shots to the cheek and temple which cause concussions. Frazier wanted the 15th. They is was no quit in him. heavyweights fighters but they threw punches like flyweights im not saying they're punching as hard as flyweights but they punched as fast as flyweights! what a fight! one of the greatest fights ever!
@CharlitoCZ One of Fraizers eyes was swollen and he had cataracts in the other. He was basically blind. Still - if he wouldn't have thrown in the towel Ali later mentioned he would of quit before the 15th.
@CharlitoCZ Ali beat up on Frazier pretty badly from rounds 11-14. Especially bad in rounds 13 and 14. Ali was landing punches on Frazier on will, almost every punch was hurting Frazier at that point. It became worst when Frazier's eye swelled shut and so he could not see any of Ali's punches coming leaving him defenseless for round 15th so his trainer stopped the fight before the last round. It was the right call, Ali would have most likely knocked out Frazier in the 15th...RIP Joe
What a great fight between two great fighters, but Ali should have retired after this fight, since we all know the shape Ali was in after this grueling fight and other ones afterwards...
Your comment made me laugh. Ali was throwing so many punches and punished Joe aggressively, how you have come with such an ill comment. Respect to the real warrior and don’t under estimate their greatness and skills. Ali was the guy who floored the monster JF who had knocked down Joe 5 times in a single bout until the fight was stopped by referee. Ali will be remembered as the greatest of all time.
What great fight! I am highly impressed by both fighters. Ali's speed and accuracy was incredible, while Frazier's non-stop aggression and chin were also amazing considering the tough circumstances he had to deal with. This a rare fight in which both boxers showed unbelievable skill and will.
Erratic, I love you, but Ali is a piece of shit. In this fight in the rounds from like 4 or 5 onward, you can see that Ali's gloves are deflated. Watch the whole fight and you'll see...especially in the later rounds. Joe didn't deserve that, but then again we ARE talking about scumbag Ali :/
What a sad lost to boxing.. An absolute warrior, infact that is a understatment. By far the best fight of all time, Nothing will ever come close. Rip Smokin Joe Frazier!
In the break time of the final round, Ali was begging his coach to let him give up but his coach pleaded him to fight on, while on the other hand Joe's coach was pleading Joe to stop fighting but Joe just wants to carry on.
Of course in the end Joe's coach threw the white towel and Ali won.
@kimjunhong84 no thats a lie and a made up story by hbo. Ali's trainer later confirmed that Ali never wanted to quit. On the other side Frazier last words before the fight ended was " I can't see" as his eyes were both closed due to cuts.
@kimjunhong84 As little it may seems but that 1 round that Joe's trainer avoided probably could have much saved Joe Frazier for serious brain damage til he died .. RIP Joe Frazier .. Ali was just landin too many punches
the thing not many people know about this fight, after the 14th, fraizer was pleading with his corner to continue fighting, while ali was pleading with his corner to stop.
Did Frazier ever take a step backwards during his career? Even when being completely mauled over by Foreman, he kept moving forward. Frazier must be the bravest man ever to enter the ring. What a fighter!
respect to both!! ali and fraziers where warriors look how many shots they take. you dont see this in the heavyweight division today the are afraid to get in and get hit. once again ali and frazier where warrios and both where prepare to die in that ring that night
@inviziblehunter naa he wouldnt frazier's face was messed up ali's whole body was fucked. ali pissed blood for a few more weeks after that fight bcos of the damage frazier did to his kidney with all those body punches. Frazier operated on kill the body then kill the head, well he killed the body he woulda killed the head in round 15
@inviziblehunter naa he wouldnt frazier's face was messed up ali's whole body was fucked. ali pissed blood for a few more weeks after that fight bcos of the damage frazier did to his kidney with all those body punches. such tremendous endurance. ali throwing fast combinations, joe frazier throwing power punches from beginning to end. both fighters with heart the size of the empire state building. thats key ingredient lacking in todays heavyweight divison
I still disagree that 15th would hav been frazier's so he got staggered at d end of d round he was stand up not once but 6 times against foreman frigtening power nd i believe he was better conditioned than the average boxer and probs ali i believe he would hav stood nd at least won the 15th
ali dominates almost the hole time but fraizer is so hard and strong in from round 10 or 11 he fights blind by the atacks from ali he cant open his other eye (he is blind on one eye)
@alahmi100 Well, Frazier actually dominates from rounds 4-10 with Ali maybe taking only 1 or 2 rounds from 4-10. But from 11-14 it was all Ali, hitting Frazier almost on will. In rounds 13-14 Ali must have hit Frazier with 100 unanswered punches that staggered Frazier various times. At the end of round 14 Frazier almost fell to his side after the bell, one of the reasons Futch stopped it. Frazier had no chance of winning and he didn't need Ali knocking him out to add insult to injury.
i agree what you say about fraizer that he d'ont make a chance vs ali but i think ali whas playing with fraizer in the rounds you say he was dominating like he did it against george foreman i mean ali nearly trained the weeks before the fight fraizer trained so much to proove he could beat ali a second time but ali is just the best ever and other reason fighters had less engergie at the end of the fight the tempreture was above 40degrees and the the too much people in the arena sorry formy b eng
@alahmi100 I agree. The rounds that Frazier dominated was mainly because Ali was using the rope-a-dope. If Ali had not layed on the ropes in the middle rounds he would have finished Frazier sooner. Maybe in rounds 9-12
@vladiator100 You are an example of the Ali delusion...
Of course... It was the rope-a-dope... What a BRILLIANT plan, lay on the ropes and absorb crushing body blows. The problem is you don't know a thing about boxing. You are an Ali fan, not a boxing fan. Thus you don't understand what is going on in that match; a match that Frazier almost won. When will people take off their rose colored glasses and realize that Ali was a great boxer, but he is FAR from being the greatest.
@spman2099 I've been an amateur boxer for 5 years and hope to make my pro debut soon. Check out silver city gym in Meriden CT, my friend Danny Aquino(look him up too) became a pro not too long ago and I will follow. I know more about boxing than you will ever know in your lifetime. Don't tell people they don't know something unless you know them. Why don't you tell George Foreman that the rope-a-dope is not brilliant. You're just another troll who thinks he knows boxing but truly doesn't.
If you think what Ali did was brilliant than you aren't going to do very well as a pro... Ali isn't a boxer anymore, he is a symbol. That is why you can't critique Ali; despite the fact that Ali really did a bunch of VERY questionable things in his time, inside and outside the ring. As for you knowing more than me about boxing, I doubt it. I also doubt you have ever been in a boxing ring; it is far more likely that you just like to pretend...
@spman2099 you are nuts. Ali was the ultimate boxer. he showed how you could win when you are not strongest. He used brains over brawns.....boxing is not about brutal manic punching...its about how intelligently you fight....Ali was an artistic boxer not some punching thug
If Ali was so great than why couldn't he beat Norton convincingly? The first match he lost, the second was very close and the third he clearly lost but got a gift decision (still talked about as one of the worst robberies in the sport). Sure Ken was a very good boxer, but if Ali really was the greatest of all time he should have been able to do what many before him had already done, beat Norton convincingly. He was great, but his legend has preceded him many times over.
Also, if Ali was so smart why did he use such an ineffective guard? Archie Moore tried help him refine his defense, Ali refused. Ali really wasn't a thinking mans boxer; he primarily relied on superior reflexes and instinct. He was never all that clever in the ring... Unless you count the times he and his team clearly broke the rules. Holding the head down, ripping gloves in order to get a break, use of illegal smelling salts... I guess if you count that stuff he was real smart.
True - but Ali (great though he was) never fought intelligently against Frazier. In all 3 fights his hands are down, he doesn't circle away from Frazier's left and he keeps throwing right hand leads. The result is that he gets clobbered by huge left hooks time and time again. He had the technique, ring craft and speed to have avoided many of them - but he just didn't do it.
I think he wanted to 'fight' Frazier - in the same way that Leonard did in his first fight with Duran.
The Frazier corner robbed Ali of a knock out. Ali was tired and exhausted just like Frazier but Frazier had no defense or fire power left...one of the reasons Futch stopped the fight was to save Frazier the humiliation of being KOd by Ali...and of course his health...
@vladiator100 No they didnt Ali himself said that if Frazier had come out for the fifteenth that he would have thrown in the towel, he said that was the closest he had been to death, Frazier still wanted to come so technically i believe Frazier's corner robbed Frazier of a knockout.
@Sholdsf lol. Yeah the same old myth. Ali never admitted to such thing. Thats is a simple myth brought on by Frazier's people and people like you who feed into it by the net. Ali DID say it was the closest he ever felt to death but never did he say that he wanted it stopped. Stop trying to bring lies into the facts. I too once believed the myth but after doing some research AND talking to Dundee HIMSELF when he visited our boxing club I was told the truth behind it.
Wow, just wow, at the risk of sounding cliche - They don't make them like that anymore, they left a bit of themselves in that ring that day. After watching that, thank god 15 rounds was scrapped, we would have some deaths by now if we were still fighting 15 rounds. One of the greatest fights of all time, but at what expense...? Possibly the reason we lost one of the greatest fighters in Ali? I am tired and feel beat up just watching that. I salute you both
greatest fighter of all time...Ali, second place for all time if not tied for 1st... frazier! anybody who could have 3 world wars against ali, is damn near the greatest.
@widebody123 haha thats funny cos i remember lennox being knocked out by fucking hasim rahman, so i'd like to see him eat some frazier left hook. he'd be gone to beddy bed for a long time.
if joe frazier had a better way of getting inside other than "i'm going to let him hit me 5 times so i can get my shots off" he probably would've beat foreman heh
after this fight Ali quote... " This must be what death feels like" ... Greatest fight of all time PERIOD.. They Put there life on the line In this fight.
The fact of the matter is, is that as good as Joe was he could not overcome Ali. Joe Frazier was feared because of his power shots and elusive head movement! He fought Ali 3 times, dropped him once and went on to win one fight by decision! That's the fact! Ali won the last two! If Frazier was as good as he claims he would have beaten Ali more than once! Ali fought and beat every body from Norton, Shavers, Lyle, Quarry, Foreman, Frazier, Ellis, to Liston. That's some resume! Ali>Frazier!
@vincespell lets not forget frazier fought with partial vision in one eye and developed arthritis before th thrilla in manila nd still managed to achieve so much nd still wanted to go 15 rounds in the last one
@Sholdsf Ali also developed some arthritis in the 60s as well. And his right arm virtually died in the 70s in terms of firepower. So both guys overcame tough circumstances...
@324582782 u do realise that after a clubbing from foreman u are pretty much outta your prime nd plus dont talk bout 8 years out of his prime considering frazier is less than 2 years younger than ali. tbh ali relied too much on the holding tactic in this fight and the second to win but in the first when he didnt he lost. (btw holding is illegal in boxing)
Just because Ali is a little heavier in this fight does not mean he was not in good shape. Frazier came in at 215.5 but was in great shape. I mean the guy was able to go 14 rounds in blistering heat while taking punishing body shots.
Ali was an Alien when it came to taking punishment, both to the body and especially the chin! And Frazier was a friggen machine! It took a prime Foreman to annihilate him, and he had to knock him down 5 times! Frazier was simply just a nightmare if you didn´t have the strengh, power and size of Foreman!
Ali really put some shots on him in those last two rounds. He landed almost an entire fight's worth of punches in 6 minutes. Joe Frazier was such a tough guy.
@calbo555 - Read the build up to this fight, you will know that Ali took it easy in training. He was putting on a circus show to insult Frazier and bring more heat to the fight. He was also in an affair with Veronica Porche and his wife even stormed into the arena causing a stir too. Ali's camp stated that he screwed around with mocking Frazier, even intruding his training champ. Not sure what you mean he look strongest? He look to be in much better shape in the 2nd fight. (continue)
@calbo555 - No disrespect to both man but the Ali almost pay the price for fooling around with a determined Frazier. If Frazier's corner did not stop the fight in time, Ali might have quit (though there is a chance he might change his mind as Dundee implored him not to quit).
@expressivechild the whole of the ali team underestimated frazier, its in the manila documentary, they all completely believed joe was washed up after watching how fast foreman put him away, in fact ali organised the fight to help joe get some money, he didn't think it would be a war at all...what a mistake he made
@MrBumboclart - They thought wrong. His lost to Foreman gave everyone that idea. They don't realize Frazier's style simply won't work against Foreman. Frazier will never beat him with his style in 10 trials. Also because Ali won decisively against Frazier in the second fight, he must be further convinced that Frazier's gonna be easy. Ali did mention the fight was the closest to death he ever knew! Even Frazier said he threw punches that could have bring down the walls of a great city. Salud!
@expressivechild I love Ali but Joe was robbed in Manila. During the break before the 15th round he was arguing with his corner to allow him to finish the fight, meanwhile Ali was pleading with his trainers to cut off his gloves and end the fight. It turned out Frazier's corner didn't let him go out and Ali acted as if he won. A draw would have beat a great way to end this bout.
@MrBumboclart - Well, by heart Frazier already won the fight. But Frazier's eyes has shut completely, he would be fighting blind, literally and that cannot happen. But of course, Ali was already on the verge of giving up. Heavyweight history will never be the same if Ali managed to quit before Frazier's corner stop the fight. Ali didn't know he was so close to winning too. But if the fight went on, Frazier would lose. Ali had the fight won unanimously already in the scorecards. (continue)
@MrBumboclart - Honestly, Joe's corner saved him from becoming a blind man completely. Can you imagine Joe walking straight into Ali's jabs not knowing what hit him? Frazier, in a sense was the true winner of the fight. His trainer Eddie Futch, told him no one will forget what you did today. But then again, if Ali quit the fight, he would probably retire and saved himself from the suffering he is going through today. This fight is not only the greatest fight in history, but also life changing!
@expressivechild Indeed, Ali should have retired after Manila, after one of his greatest fights, instead he went on to fight several more years, I think he would have developed Parkinson's either way but the effects would surely not have been as terrible if he had retired in '75.
@MrBumboclart - Yeah, even Ali would have nothing left to prove after the fight win or lose. Both men fought an unforgettable fight. But Ali should have well consider retirement after becoming the third time champion defeating Leon Spinks by UD. The fight with Larry Holmes and Berbick is a total mismatch.
joe frazier a great fighter and a good and humble man i miss him but at least i can still watch his hegreat fights with ali, mathis, foreman, chuvalo ellis, machen smokin joes my favorite because he fought like a man and always got up when knocked down he had a great fighting spirit.

BabaMazarishahid 3 months ago

In the break time of the final round, Ali was begging his coach to let him give up but his coach pleaded him to fight on, while on the other hand Joe's coach was pleading Joe to stop fighting but Joe just wants to carry on.
Of course in the end Joe's coach threw the white towel and Ali won.
kimjunhong84 4 months ago

What a fighter!

ali dominates almost the hole time but fraizer is so hard and strong in from round 10 or 11 he fights blind by the atacks from ali he cant open his other eye (he is blind on one eye)
alahmi100 8 months ago
@alahmi100 Well, Frazier actually dominates from rounds 4-10 with Ali maybe taking only 1 or 2 rounds from 4-10. But from 11-14 it was all Ali, hitting Frazier almost on will. In rounds 13-14 Ali must have hit Frazier with 100 unanswered punches that staggered Frazier various times. At the end of round 14 Frazier almost fell to his side after the bell, one of the reasons Futch stopped it. Frazier had no chance of winning and he didn't need Ali knocking him out to add insult to injury.
vladiator100 7 months ago
i agree what you say about fraizer that he d'ont make a chance vs ali but i think ali whas playing with fraizer in the rounds you say he was dominating like he did it against george foreman i mean ali nearly trained the weeks before the fight fraizer trained so much to proove he could beat ali a second time but ali is just the best ever and other reason fighters had less engergie at the end of the fight the tempreture was above 40degrees and the the too much people in the arena sorry formy b eng
alahmi100 7 months ago
@alahmi100 I agree. The rounds that Frazier dominated was mainly because Ali was using the rope-a-dope. If Ali had not layed on the ropes in the middle rounds he would have finished Frazier sooner. Maybe in rounds 9-12
vladiator100 7 months ago
@vladiator100 You are an example of the Ali delusion...
Of course... It was the rope-a-dope... What a BRILLIANT plan, lay on the ropes and absorb crushing body blows. The problem is you don't know a thing about boxing. You are an Ali fan, not a boxing fan. Thus you don't understand what is going on in that match; a match that Frazier almost won. When will people take off their rose colored glasses and realize that Ali was a great boxer, but he is FAR from being the greatest.
spman2099 7 months ago
@spman2099 I've been an amateur boxer for 5 years and hope to make my pro debut soon. Check out silver city gym in Meriden CT, my friend Danny Aquino(look him up too) became a pro not too long ago and I will follow. I know more about boxing than you will ever know in your lifetime. Don't tell people they don't know something unless you know them. Why don't you tell George Foreman that the rope-a-dope is not brilliant. You're just another troll who thinks he knows boxing but truly doesn't.
vladiator100 7 months ago
@vladiator100
I also doubt you have ever been in a boxing ring; it is far more likely that you just like to pretend...
spman2099 6 months ago
@spman2099 you are nuts. Ali was the ultimate boxer. he showed how you could win when you are not strongest. He used brains over brawns.....boxing is not about brutal manic punching...its about how intelligently you fight....Ali was an artistic boxer not some punching thug
ednan9 6 months ago 8
@ednan9
He was great, but his legend has preceded him many times over.
spman2099 6 months ago
@ednan9
I guess if you count that stuff he was real smart.
spman2099 6 months ago
@ednan9
TheSmithDorian 3 months ago
The Frazier corner robbed Ali of a knock out. Ali was tired and exhausted just like Frazier but Frazier had no defense or fire power left...one of the reasons Futch stopped the fight was to save Frazier the humiliation of being KOd by Ali...and of course his health...
vladiator100 8 months ago
@vladiator100 No they didnt Ali himself said that if Frazier had come out for the fifteenth that he would have thrown in the towel, he said that was the closest he had been to death, Frazier still wanted to come so technically i believe Frazier's corner robbed Frazier of a knockout.
Sholdsf 7 months ago
@Sholdsf lol. Yeah the same old myth. Ali never admitted to such thing. Thats is a simple myth brought on by Frazier's people and people like you who feed into it by the net. Ali DID say it was the closest he ever felt to death but never did he say that he wanted it stopped. Stop trying to bring lies into the facts. I too once believed the myth but after doing some research AND talking to Dundee HIMSELF when he visited our boxing club I was told the truth behind it.
vladiator100 7 months ago
Wow, just wow, at the risk of sounding cliche - They don't make them like that anymore, they left a bit of themselves in that ring that day. After watching that, thank god 15 rounds was scrapped, we would have some deaths by now if we were still fighting 15 rounds. One of the greatest fights of all time, but at what expense...? Possibly the reason we lost one of the greatest fighters in Ali? I am tired and feel beat up just watching that. I salute you both

scottyb453 11 months ago
The fact of the matter is, is that as good as Joe was he could not overcome Ali. Joe Frazier was feared because of his power shots and elusive head movement! He fought Ali 3 times, dropped him once and went on to win one fight by decision! That's the fact! Ali won the last two! If Frazier was as good as he claims he would have beaten Ali more than once! Ali fought and beat every body from Norton, Shavers, Lyle, Quarry, Foreman, Frazier, Ellis, to Liston. That's some resume! Ali>Frazier!

I mean the guy was able to go 14 rounds in blistering heat while taking punishing body shots.
scottyb453 1 year ago
Ali was an Alien when it came to taking punishment, both to the body and especially the chin! And Frazier was a friggen machine! It took a prime Foreman to annihilate him, and he had to knock him down 5 times! Frazier was simply just a nightmare if you didn´t have the strengh, power and size of Foreman!

@expressivechild u kidding right? strongest looking hes been and fittest to last 15 rounds
calbo555 1 year ago
@calbo555 - Read the build up to this fight, you will know that Ali took it easy in training. He was putting on a circus show to insult Frazier and bring more heat to the fight. He was also in an affair with Veronica Porche and his wife even stormed into the arena causing a stir too. Ali's camp stated that he screwed around with mocking Frazier, even intruding his training champ. Not sure what you mean he look strongest? He look to be in much better shape in the 2nd fight. (continue)
expressivechild 1 year ago
@calbo555 - No disrespect to both man but the Ali almost pay the price for fooling around with a determined Frazier. If Frazier's corner did not stop the fight in time, Ali might have quit (though there is a chance he might change his mind as Dundee implored him not to quit).
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild the whole of the ali team underestimated frazier, its in the manila documentary, they all completely believed joe was washed up after watching how fast foreman put him away, in fact ali organised the fight to help joe get some money, he didn't think it would be a war at all...what a mistake he made
MrBumboclart 1 year ago
@MrBumboclart - They thought wrong. His lost to Foreman gave everyone that idea. They don't realize Frazier's style simply won't work against Foreman. Frazier will never beat him with his style in 10 trials. Also because Ali won decisively against Frazier in the second fight, he must be further convinced that Frazier's gonna be easy. Ali did mention the fight was the closest to death he ever knew! Even Frazier said he threw punches that could have bring down the walls of a great city. Salud!
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild I love Ali but Joe was robbed in Manila. During the break before the 15th round he was arguing with his corner to allow him to finish the fight, meanwhile Ali was pleading with his trainers to cut off his gloves and end the fight. It turned out Frazier's corner didn't let him go out and Ali acted as if he won. A draw would have beat a great way to end this bout.
MrBumboclart 1 year ago
@MrBumboclart - Well, by heart Frazier already won the fight. But Frazier's eyes has shut completely, he would be fighting blind, literally and that cannot happen. But of course, Ali was already on the verge of giving up. Heavyweight history will never be the same if Ali managed to quit before Frazier's corner stop the fight. Ali didn't know he was so close to winning too. But if the fight went on, Frazier would lose. Ali had the fight won unanimously already in the scorecards. (continue)
expressivechild 1 year ago
@MrBumboclart - Honestly, Joe's corner saved him from becoming a blind man completely. Can you imagine Joe walking straight into Ali's jabs not knowing what hit him? Frazier, in a sense was the true winner of the fight. His trainer Eddie Futch, told him no one will forget what you did today. But then again, if Ali quit the fight, he would probably retire and saved himself from the suffering he is going through today. This fight is not only the greatest fight in history, but also life changing!
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild Indeed, Ali should have retired after Manila, after one of his greatest fights, instead he went on to fight several more years, I think he would have developed Parkinson's either way but the effects would surely not have been as terrible if he had retired in '75.
MrBumboclart 1 year ago
@MrBumboclart - Yeah, even Ali would have nothing left to prove after the fight win or lose. Both men fought an unforgettable fight. But Ali should have well consider retirement after becoming the third time champion defeating Leon Spinks by UD. The fight with Larry Holmes and Berbick is a total mismatch.
expressivechild 1 year ago
@expressivechild neither was Joe, the world thot he was washed up. he was old, suffered health probs and lost to Foreman + Ali II
