  • i always thought richard was creepy ass hell till this episode (:

  • Hey, watch it buddy! Nobody pushes Hurley!

  • All the romantics love this episode.

  • And all this time I thought Richard is gay, it turns out he is loyal to his wife and very romantic man, long live Richard !

  • You need to include the part before this, where Richard has given up and is calling out to the Man in Black. That makes this part stronger.

  • this is so sad, I balled my eyes out after seeing this poor Richard one of my fave characters on the show, and the most emotional episodes of Lost.

  • "She said you have to stop the man in black; you have to stop him from leaving the island. Cause if you don't, TODOS NOS VAMOS AL INFIERNO". + Locke's face + music = Shit on my pants

  • Haha Locke is such a creeper.

  • Que poderosa esta escena

  • I remember sobbing throughout this entire episode.

  • hugo reyes habla como el culo

  • Best episode. Best show ever. Best story ever told. L O S T.

  • This is definitely one of the best scenes in Lost.

  • This show changed my life...

  • I like how they introduce characters as if they'll be "bad guys" but later on, it's only discovered that they just had a hidden agenda for a cause in the plot. I never got how richard never aged either...

  • ORDER OF FLASH BACKS:: 1). Jacob's Evil smoke mom = Viking Times 2). Jacob = 14 hundreds 3). Richard = 1867 4). Others = 1880 5). Drama = 1940 6). French = 1988 7). Desmond = 2001 8). Oceanic flight 815 = 2004 9). Flocke = 2009 10). Jack = 2010 11) Hugo = 2010 The New protector of the island!
  • @zaandarbrow um, she wasn't smokey and it was roman times, not Vikings

  • @daman1233 I believe she was smokey

  • just bawled my eyes out. This was like watching Ghost, but without the whole awkward whoopi goldberg scene

  • im spanish and he talk with a extremly latin acent. He could have put a spanish actress to this scene......

  • @mode0101 It might be because the guy who plays Richard is of Cuban decent. I know the accents vary a lot depending on which Spanish speaking country you're from. My boyfriends mom is from Chile and she pointed out his accent was off too considering he (Richard) was supposed to be from the Canary Islands. =)

  • i'll tell ya the best part...the cut from when she kisses him ..passes behind hurley..and she's gone. brillant and moving.

  • Why life can't be just fair ?

  • Beautiful scene. One of LOST's best in my opinion. The ending to this scene is excellent "You have to stop the man in black or we all go to hell." Really brings the show back down the essentials of keeping the MIB from leaving. The final camera shot of Locke really seals the deal!

  • the most beautiful episode, i'm crying right now, here in my office... and i do that every time that i see it...

  • Isabella is very cute.

  • I cry hardcore at this scene. Richard along with John had the saddest back stories.

  • omg.. this scene just made me cry, i love it.. :'( and i love his story.

  • Comment removed

  • I've been a very, very big fan of Lost since the show aired and there were so much moments where I could have cried, but I've done it only rarely. This scene is such a rare moment. And damn it, I cried like a baby. Thanks Darlton for that emotional moment <3

  • Why doesn't Hurley go on with translating? ;D

  • @xXmenneskerXx lol cuz he's a son of a bitch, like sawyer would say

  • Thanks, Hurley for giving Richard his wife back for one amazing moment.

  • that wasnt the smoke monster?

  • @iArieeee No. Why would the Man in Black tell Richard to stop himself? No, that was the real Isabella, or rather, her ghost. The proof is that she had to communicate through Hurley. If it was the MIB, he would've been able to talk directly to Richard. The MIB only shows up at the end, as Locke, looking pissed. Presumably, he was going to recruit Richard, but Hurley beat him to it.

  • Classic lost: makes you cry, major character development, and they didn't answer the question posed at the very beginning.

  • @worrowindXVI What question?

  • This is easily one of the top episodes of Lost. This is first time we learn anything about Richard's life before and they are able to turn it into a beautiful story and answer a ton of the important questions. I was at first expecting this episode to just be a bunch of explanation because we have Richard walking throughout time...but it turned out ot be one of the most emotional episodes of Lost ever

  • I want to knock out every single scriptwriter of LOST, I'm from the Canary Islands and I swear you that we don't speak that way, that seems to be Cuban accent, please, next time make sure that the language of the place that you're talking about is the one that you think, please!!! But I'm gland to know that at least they doesn't think that we're not Africans' islands.

  • @elenapunksnotdead the thing is that Nestor Carbonell (the actor who plays richard) is cuban, I don't think they actually meant the accent to be that way, they just focused on him speaking spanish

  • @elenapunksnotdead - Carbonell researched the accent of the Canary islands before this episode was filmed, and found out that it is quite similar to Cuban spanish, so he just spoke it the way he's used to.

  • im a 14 year old guy, and i cried over this the scene

  • @6048733993 lol, I think a 14 year old is called a boy

  • Thumbs up if you think Hurley is lying about the last thing Isabella says. :) It's for the best though.

But, first of all, he already said Isabella was gone...second, he was sort of looking at the sky when he was "speaking" to her...thirdly, he looked really guilty while he was saying it.

  • @SDKfilmproduction - Which? That it wasn't his fault she died, that "they are already together", or that Isabella wants him to stop MIB?

  • @Skywalker91 That Isabella wants him to stop MiB. See reasons above.

  • best episode from season 6

  • Nestor should have gotten nominated

  • Best emotional love scene in all of "Lost" next to the Desmond and Penny phone call from "The Constant", and one of my favourite Season Six moments.

  • I dont know how the people who shut down every other lost site havnt shut you down yet but woohoo You rock !

  • my favorite season six episode, besides the End. And definitely one my all time favorite Lost episodes.

  • I loved this scene so much - its nice to see so many people agreeing with me. One of my friends had theorised at this point that Hurley would emerge as some sort of Christ-like leader; that was what I thought of when Richard was calling out for the MIB and then we see Hurley walking out of the forest.... well he did become the protector of the island in the end so my friend was kind of on the right track. Beautiful scene, great acting, wonderful episode altogether :)

  • I'm imagining Hurley saying to Richard, "mm, my love, we are already together."

  • @GhostBarbieDog LOL well who wouldn't - he's gorgeous! And look how he loaned his Maybelline to Charlie for the concert :)

  • i truly hope that nestor carbonell gets at least an emmy nod for his performance in this episode. he did such a fantastic job.

  • "Are you... really here?" Oh man, that part gets me.

  • After that finale, this scene totally makes a bit more sense. "We're already together" makes me believe that they're together in the afterlife....god, I love this scene :)

  • @orangebull13 Now that's a great interpretation, since it actually fits with the show! Thank you Orangebull13! :)

  • Right as Hurley says "She wants you to close your eyes" tears starting coming down. This was a touching scene. The best one yet.

  • I've been watching this episode five times and it never gets old. This scene makes me cry every time.

  • This is such a beautiful scene. It made me cry the first few times I saw it and even though I've watched it multiple times I still get teary eyed. Wonderful acting by Nestor, can we saw the emmy into 4 pieces this year? One for Terry, one for Michael, one for Nestor, and one for Josh.

  • @warrickgirl37 Holy shit, you picked exactly the four I would choose! Four outstanding performances out of a very talented cast. Also I think Jorge Garcia has surpassed himself this past season. Terry if I recall took himself out of the running last year; modest guy that he is! I will be interested to see who Emmy recognises :)

  • @Jojoseahorse Yeah, I've always enjoyed Jorge's performances, I think the problem is that Hurley is comic relief for the audience so he doesn't get a lot of dramatic scenes to perform. I'm glad that Michael Emerson won last year, it was way overdue if you ask me. I heard that Terry put himself back in the running this year, which is great because he was fantastic this season, I mean he played two different characters.

  • i want either nestor carbonell or michael emerson to get an emmy this year. who agrees with me?

  • Richard looks absolutely STUNNED when Hurley says "your wife sent me!" Can't blame him though...

  • This is kind of a gay moment since Isabella was Jacob lol. Kill the man in black. Like some lady who never went to the island would tell her husband to go kill someone. Just like Michael showing up to help them join the smoking club. Michael was MiB. All dead people that Hurley sees are either Jacob or MiB tricking them into doing what they want. Whats dead is dead.

  • @Celly222 No, Isabella was not Jacob. Jacob is dead, and so is Isabella. Isabella came back to help out the man she loves. That is all.

Why do you think it was Jacob? That doesn't make any sense.

  • @Celly222 No, all dead people that Hurley sees...............are dead people. Michael was Michael, and says that he can't move on. That wasn't MIB, because MIB is alive. You're theory holds no water.

  • @Transformers217 I disagree. "Whats dead is dead." Thats the catch phrase from last year that gives it away. Notice what each dead person gets Hurley to do. MiB as Micheal got them to go to the camp. MiB later is in camp saying he is waiting. Why would say that unless he knew what he was waiting for? Jacob as Isabella gets Richard to want to kill MiB. See how both of them manipulate? MiB and Jacob are not human. Also MiB admitted to being Christian. More trickery.

  • @Celly222 That doesn't give anything away. What's dead is dead, and these characters are dead. But Hurley(like Miles), is able to see and communicate with dead people. So you're whole theory is debunked, and it doesn't hold any water.

MIB can't become another dead person, because he is stuck as John Locke. Again, your theory holds no water. And dead people can probably see everything, including the future. So Michael knew what was going to happen, and told Hurley what to do.

  • @Celly222 Isabella didn't want her husband to become evil, so she saved his soul by telling him that he couldn't save her, and that she loves him. Plain and simple.

And Christian is dead, so MIB can become Christian. Apparently, he can become people who are dead. But he's stuck as John Locke, so becoming Michael is simply impossible. Like I said, you're theory is full of nothing.

  • @Transformers217 Or... since she was human and shes DEAD and never went to the island, its Jacob that didnt want him to go to MiB, so he posed as Isabella. Since obviously Jacob and MiB are not human. No humans i know can turn into smoke, or touch someone to give them eternity. And MiB isnt stuck as Locke. Thats just his vessel. Michael is dead, so MiB can become him just like he can become smoke. The "cant move on" excuse is another lie, like telling Richard hes in hell and must kill satan.

  • @Celly222 No, because she's dead. And Hurley has seen plenty of dead people that either died on the Island, or off the Island. Same thing with Miles. So no, it's not Jacob. Again, you're theory has been debunked. And Ilana said that MIB is stuck as John Locke, and can't become anybody else. Again, your theory has been debunked. Please pay attention to what's actually been happening on the show, instead of creating a theory that holds no water.

  • @Celly222 And yeah, their not human. But everything else that you've claim, is BS.

  • @Transformers217 oh dude cmon now. I suggest you read it all again carefully. There is no BS in anything i said. You just cant let go of the fact that youre wrong. You stated MiB cannot imitate dead people because hes stuck as Locke. So explain Alex judging Ben and telling him NOT to kill evil incarnate (like she would do that) when we saw Locke go to black smoke and then...... form into dead Alex. lol

  • @Celly222 That whole scene happened before the death of Jacob. Apparently, with the death of Jacob, MIB is stuck as John Locke. As Illana said, he's stuck as John Locke. So your theory doesn't hold water.

  • @Transformers217 His body form that everyone sees is stuck as Locke. I wonder how he lost Christians body? Anyway i believe them 2 freakies can change into whatever ghostly shape they want at any time. I always thought the black horse Kate petted was the smoke. I dont think Jacob dieing would affect the smokes power. Celly says the same thing i heard and it makes sense. But we may never know. This week is about the 2 of them starting when they were kids so maybe we can get some answers.

  • @Props2u If so, then why hasn't Locke changed into anything else. You're making baseless claims.

Please stop trying to make something up, and try to pay attention to the facts that the show has presented us so far. The fact is that the Smoke Monster can become anybody who is dead. And since Jacob has died, he's basically stuck as John Locke. At least that's what Illana was implying.

  • @Transformers217 LIVING FORM = LOCKE!! You need to STFU with your rude comments like "baseless claims" or "holding no water". You obviously arent smart enough to keep up with the show. People explain things, then you just go back to saying the same stuff over and over. Its all typed out for you by 2 people below. If you cant understand what youre reading, its your own fault. Im done here. If the other guy wants to keep explaining it to someone who cant read, its up to him.

  • Comment removed

  • @Celly222 Those aren't rude claims, their pretty much true at this point. When you're putting out random garbage with not much to back it up, that means it's a "baseless claim."

This Props dude obviously doesn't pay attention to the show, or he just decided to make up a random theory to explain something that he simply can't get his head around. He's simply trying to make the show seem more complicated then it already is. I can read it just fine, and it's all BS.

  • @Celly222 And don't try to tell me that I'm smart enough to understand the show, when I'm actually paying attention to it. Heck, I can even write an essay on this thing.

  • @Transformers217 He changed into Alex right in front of Ben. How is that a baseless claim? Jacobs death prevents another thing from using powers? How? Why can he still be smoke then? Celly is right, youre not listening. Locke is stuck as Locke as far as his living visible form goes. Im not sure how to explain that any easier. I suggest you read some Lost message boards or pay better attention to the show. Youre stuck on this casper the ghost crap which is silly.

  • @Props2u Jacob had to die, in order for SM to get off the Island. Which apparently, means he's stuck as Locke. And this past weeks episode, completely proved your theory wrong, because it never showed that Jacob can turn into dead people.

I suggest that you pay attention to the facts that the show is presenting to you, and stop making up random theories. The whispers are that of the dead. And dead people can be ressurected by either the "Island", or the "light" within the "Island."

  • @Props2u He can change back into Smoke, because he's the Smoke Monster. But as a human body, he's stuck as John Locke. Now why did he stop turning into MIB, and spend years trying to find a loophole? I don't know. But the fact is that Jacob can't become a dead person. And as far as the show has revealed to us, SM is stuck as John Locke.

  • @Transformers217 What do you mean Jacob cant become a dead person? He is dead and we now know he has been taking the shape of his younger self. So if he can shapeshift into a different form than his elder self, he can change into whatever he wants. And again with the Locke stuck as Locke stuff. AGAIN.... From Locke, to smoke, to Alex. We all saw it. If Jacobs state of health affects this like you say, which is silly, he wouldnt be able to turn into smoke. Your theory "has no water". lol.

  • @Props2u We don't know if Jacob has taken the form of his younger self or not. MIB's younger self is walking around, but did the Smoke Monster become that kid? No, because that kid was seen by both MIB and Desmond. MIB even told Desmond not to pay attention to the kid. Oh, and SM is stuck as Locke, since he got Jacob killed.

And where is it shown that Jacob can turn into dead people? Again, you're whole theory is garbage. All we know is that Jacob is dead, nothing more. Your theory is terrible.

  • @Props2u But the main problem with your theory, is that you're not going by the facts that the show has shown you. But instead, you're just making up stuff, and trying to make things look more complicated then they already are.

  • @Transformers217 Just want to say that i read this argument and you are not giving valid reasons for your theory, the other 2 guys are explaining it pretty well. Like they have said, we saw Locke change shape for Ben into his daughter. Jacob dieing wont affect the brothers power. Why would it? But with Jacob dead, he can leave if he finds a way. Also the kid running around is little Jacob, not the brother. Note the blonde hair and same actor in Across the Sea. Who knows, its all confusing.

  • @joedeed Um, the younger MIB did show in episode "Everybody Loves Hugo." And I can't explain why Jacob's death effects MIB's ability to change into other people, because it's a vague explanation that was implied by Illana. She said that MIB is stuck as John Locke, and that is a fact.

But some "Lost" fans, like to make things more complicated then they already are. These fans are simply making up theories.

  • @Transformers217 How about this; he was stuck in the form of John Locke pirely as a story telling tool. The last season was about redemption, the 'afterlife', The Island and Good versus Evil. Had MIB been able to continue to change shape to whoever he liked - then we would have spent the entire last season wondering "Oh is that Sayid of MIB", "Oh is that Claire or MIB"" the list goes on. It was a plot device used to draw focus to what was really important. You have to consider in light of this.

  • @Renzokukin I understand, and I actually love your interpretation as well. Thank you! :)

  • @Transformers217 And also you may have forgot when Ben went back to the island to supposedly be judged, we saw plain as day the black smoke turn into Alex. So its MiB imitating dead people to manipulate, and so does Jacob. My theory is very correct.

  • @Celly222 Your theory is wrong, because MIB was able to become dead people, because he wasn't stuck. He's stuck as John Locke now, so he's not capable of becoming anybody else who is dead. And the voices in the forrest question has been answered. They are people who can't move on, and Michael is one of them. That question has been answered and that's not a lie. Pay attention to the facts, instead of making up something that didn't happen on the show.

  • Isabella's eyes are beautiful!

  • And suddenly I'm reminded why I love Hurley so much!!! Richard too, but mostly Hurley.

  • Richard es el mejor carácter perdido which means Richard is the best Lost character.

  • = Ghost (with Demi Moore) : the same scene there

  • Dang, I can count on one hand how many times I've cried in my adult life.

    1. When my girlfriend was killed in 1993

    2. When my father got sick

    3. The funeral of my grandmother

    4. The birth of my son.

    5. This scene.

  • wow... did your girlfriend really get killed??..

  • @Haywerth Dude are you serious?

  • @NintendoWarrior1

Yes. This scene, I could totally relate to the feelings of guilt Richard had been carrying, of blaming himself for not being able to save Isabella.

  • @Haywerth Ahhhh I get it. Sorry dude.

  • @Haywerth Dude I'm really sorry about your girlfriend. I know it was years ago but still that must suck hard :(

  • @Totalpranny

Wow, I must say, I truly appreciate all the positive responses I've received since posting that comment. Thank you all.

  • @Haywerth why did you cry during this scene? Would you be willing to articulate those feelings?

  • @Haywerth Wow, that's intense.

  • @Haywerth I'm sorry about your girlfriend

  • How wonderfull I was cried in this part... T_T Amo a Richard!!!

  • haha! now I know Richards secrets!!! >:D

  • this is the best episode and scene of the hole thing
