Malaysia's own drum prodigy

How is this guy a prodigy? no offense to him or anything he seems like a good drummer but im kinda confused on what the definitions of a prodigy is now.I started playing guitar at 5 and could play at an adult level at 12 and when i was twelve i picked up the drums and already could play really advanced stuff but i wasn't considered a prodigy and i didn't get a bunch of cameras and spot light.

Arthur, silence the people who say nasty things about the way you speak. Yes, you do need to speak better. You know the art of  practising and getting better. The subject doesnt matter. Just because someone speaks a different language as their first language and has an accent with english does not make them a retard.Retardation means low intelligence, hardly evident in this video. This guy is obviously talented, have some respect.

but you can be a reasonably good drummer without being a prodigy.

I would never be jealous of someone like 6 years older than me. and plus theres no such thing as a prodigy, people just like to use the word. A prodigy is someone born to do something, people think to be a prodigy or "born to be" guy has to be really good and to be noticed. Alot of people are good but arent noticed until theyre older and people think u have to be noticed wen your still really young to be a prodigy. Like WTF!? Anyone can drum just as good as a prodigy if they just work hard

perhaps u misunderstood the word 'prodigy'. it's defined as a person, especially a young one, with exceptional abilities or an outstanding example of a quality.

so yes, u have to be noticed when you're still really young to be a prodigy. however, like i said before, you can be a reasonably good drummer without being a prodigy. nobody can be a prodigy even if they work hard, coz they dont have the prodigy talent.

Hey man, chill guys.. we are celebrating a drummer who have done us (Asian) proud by winning probably the world's most prestigious drum competition. I'm not speaking on behalf on my friend Arthur, but surely, appearing on Modern Drummer magazine is quite something. Of course, there will be other more technical, more versatile, more musical and the list goes on's drummer. Bottom point is, there will always be people greater and better.. so my take is, take a break, chill and relax. Peace!
