  • sorry for the off-topic but your hair are great in this video

  • thanks for the props rodney.

  • What an ass whipping!

  • Great take...This was a great win for WVU. They doubted us leading up to this game like they did when we beat UGA in the sugar bowl with the same team!

  • u right man i play football at WVU an WE Was Underdog Until We Step It up on Da Field Oklahoma Football Players was Talking Alot Of smack Cause My Older Consin Plays @oklahoma But We Came Out On Top I Play On Defense #2 Ya Dig

  • I don't really think WVU was completly outclassed by OSU, Although I do know that WVU was expected to lose. WVU just doesn't get the Credit that they deserve for all the hard work they put out. They never have, I guess the rest of the Country just has someting against them.... or more like the Media has something against them.

Either way, thanks for the Credit to WVU man. It's good to hear!

  • Sorry I meant OU not OSU...

  • Texas fan here. I loved watching WVU smack around OU. It was a great underdog story and game.

  • wow that's great, sir. i really like the philosophy you applied to it. I may be biased being a student at wvu, but yes, this can be applied to life, to not let things bring you down when they only seem impossible or difficult, and as some1 else already stated, yes, your video nearly moved me to tears... its very tru, we were supposed to lose, but we just have to too much faith, too much pride... and as journey once said, "don't stop believing". i like to live by it

  • The nation has no idea how much we love our Mountaineers. It's nice to see that others now see that. I must say watching your video I'm overflowing with Mountaineer Pride! Thanks again "hellorodney" and remember there is room on the WVU bandwagon and you're welcome to climb on board!

  • thanks so much,,,i do appreciate that

  • That right. Dont mess with West Virginia

  • Man this is some deep shit, the craziest shit is, this dude makes SOOO much since yo. I like it man, good shit.

  • hey, that was a beautiful analysis of the outcome. :) i am a song writer from wv, and I actually wrote a song inspired by the game (in which i found your video in the related videos). come check it out if you like. :)

thanks for that man. it really makes us fans feel good that our flagship football team is finally getting some hard-earned respect. :)

  • Thanks Rodney from a West Virgina alum. We appreciate your kind words and understanding the meaning of the game to all of us as Mountaineer fans. Your always welcome in Morgantown.

  • now that is a nice thing to say,,,,,hummmm,,,FREE ROOM AND BOARD FOR THE SUMMER,,,HUMMMMMM,,,thanks for commenting and watching

  • Didn't everyone have Oklahoma when they played USC a few years ago?

  • No, everyone thought USC would pwn. And the did.

  • Actually, Oklahoma was picked to win against USC.

  • Excellent viedo, thank you for the kind worlds and the true meaning of life!! O:-)

  • Thank you for the kind words. The Great State of West Virginia are indeed usually the underdog. Whether we're talking about Pearl S. Buck, Chuck Yeager, Homer Hickam, Booker T. Washington, Bernard P. Bell, Mary Lou Retton, George Brett, Stonewall Jackson, Milton Humphreys, Jerry West, Don Knotts, or the WVU Mountaineers it always brings a proud tear to my eye and a spring to my step to hear of a West Virginian that "done good". Fair winds and following seas, my friend.

  • Rodney! Thank you so much for a great video! I am curious to know where you are from?

  • the southwest

  • Oklahoma? hahah just kidding.

  • I can't beleive how much the media influences opinions. Everyone thought WV was an underdog because the talking heads told them so. However, if WV had taken care of business against Pitt and were still playing OK, they may well have been the favorite.

This was NOT an upset, the best team with the best athletes won. Anyone who watched the game could see that.

  • I hear you man.

If WVU would have played like they normally do against Pitt, I have no doubt in my mind that they could have easly beaten Ohio State in the National Championship.

And that would have been ohhhh soooo sweeet... I live on the border of WV and OH so even though they never play, there's a big WVU-Ohio State Rivalry here. :)

  • Rodney; a very well stated statement; not only to WVU and WV. Because all of WV is the fans of the 'eers'. The game was a statement about abandonment and we will prove our point,in which they did to the embarrassment of a fine Oklahoma team...I believe the 'eers' could have and would have beat any team Wednesday night...because they had a point to impress upon everyone in this world. This was a more rewarding game than a National Championship could ever be.

  • Thank you so much for the video. WVU fans, players, etc. are like none other. We claw & dig against the hillbilly stereotype & proving that the Big East is a powerhouse. Our state is small & everybody gets behind our WVU. We have had to eplain why the coach leaving was such a big deal. In WV, honesty, integrity - your word & a hand shake mean something. WVU had something to prove & they did in the Fiesta Bowl. Look how WVU has embrassed these players - look at Owen Schmitt.

  • Good vid Rodney, thanks for giving our little state and our team some props. We dont have any major professional sports teams so we really support our local high school and especially the collegiate teams. I think WVU will be even better next season. Michigan took both of our coaches, but we have two guys who are homeboys coaching now.

  • Being from WV,I know how much disrespect there is regarding WVU and our state in general. However,WVU should have been playing for the national title had it not totally tanked against Pitt. Still, with White coming back,Devine just a frosh and Slaton could come back as well...WVU should be in the title hunt for the next few years.

  • Nice...

  • Noel Devine.. go youtube some of his highschool highlight reels..future nfl star right there..hes got likeee a ton of florida rushing records. man that whole team runs like they are on fireee....WVU till i dieee woop woop

  • I take your praise, your a true sport. What made WV an Underdog a coach who fled what he considered his dream job. Again thank you for realizing WVU is a top team. Did you ever think of the 82 game? That was a game where WVU was totally outclassed and won. Cheers for the new year

  • On behalf of WV: thank you, Rodney.

  • Thanks Rodney!

    You rock!

  • When one of the top 5 fastest players in the nation is able to touch the football on every play your in trouble. Pat White should have been at least on stage for the heisman

  • I agree Rodney. It was great to see that last night! West Virginia took them to school using their speed.

  • your right every year they are ranked and no one ever gives them there due

  • Excuse me, but I thought they were gonna beat Oklahoma due to the fact they had WAY more talent than Oklahoma...Flat out. The only reason people called them underdogs was because Rodriguez ran off on them like a coward and went to Michigan. To think people still called them underdogs and they won the Sugar Bowl not even 2 years ago. 2 BCS bowl wins in the past 3 years. Underdogs? More like ELITE FOOTBALL PROGRAM now. Hopefully the general public will never underestimate the Mountaineers again.

  • i was at the game great game great team LETS GO MOUNTAINEERS!

  • I always root for the underdog. Hell yeah baby!! Besides you know those Southern boys eat their Wheaties!!

  • Lets Go Mounatineers!!!!!!!!!

  • Excellent speech!!!!! I like how you worded this. Let this be known to be an inspiration to everyone.

  • WVU was outgunned and outnumbered. This was a better team than the one that lost to Boise State last year and WVU blew them out of the water. Won one for the little guy. AGAIN!

  • I was really happy for WV...I mean it's rare to see a team overcome such an ordeal...with their coaching fiasco, their underdog status, and achieve...and to see the players absorb it and crying on the field...just felt like something really special to watch...really awesome

  • Way to go WVU!!!! We had faith in you. I have faith in you too Rodney. You are a good guy and all of your speeches are worthwhile. Its just that chaw .... makes me gag. LOL. Just joking buddy .. chew away.

    Johnny in West Va.

  • That was a great speech... I never watch sports, but maybe I will watch it now and then from now on.

And about your speech: almost everything is possible if you try hard enough

  • PLEASE COMMENT, RATE AND SUBSCRIBE,,,thannnnnk y you,,,rodney

  • the game was fun to watch, all the analyst were behind OU.

  • Well put.

  • i was at that game behind the field goal. Go mountaineers baby!!!!!!

  • There's a mysterious balance in the universe that we have not EVEN begun to approach UNDERSTANDING yet :)

  • i like your comment

so i went to your video

    sure enough your an artist

    hey me too

    check out my "busted" video

  • soso true

  • But I do have to say the best part of the night was the interview with Owen Shmitt afterward when he was crying.

    That's what it's all about.

Unlike Pro sports, these guys are truly playing for their team, their university, the community and the state.

I'm from New York. But you've gotta be proud to be a Mountaineer and part of West Virginia.

    Congrats!!!!

  • Let's GOOOOOOOOOO Mountaineers!

  • I wouldn't say they got destroyed. They were down 20-15 and has the Sooners on the ropes until a ridiculous decision to go for the onside kick.

I'm not taking anything away from WV. They beat them fair and square but it wasn't a blowout.

What won it for WV was those 3 big plays.

  • it was not 20-15 it was 48-28

  • Bluehusk

I did not say that 20-15 was the final score. Keep reading. What I wrote was that at one point it was 20-15 and they has the Sooners on the ropes. The onside kick call was a poor decision which in my estimation swung the momentum back to OU. If the game is 20-15 and the total yardage was not that lopsided it's hard to call it a blowout. They were in the game until about 5 minutes left.

  • oh sorry

  • I'd say 48-28 and pretty much being dominated the entire game is considered a blowout. Did you not notice the zig-zagging going on and the OU defense unable to get close to them? I especially loved the Raynaud dive into the end zone with the OU defender grabbing with 2 arms as if he had him and fell flat hugging air as Raynaud rolled across the line LOL.

  • Go Mountaineers! =)

  • How 'bout them EERS!? AWESOME GAME!

  • Great words of encouragment to all...Let's Go Mountaineers!

  • No one thought that they had a chance to win except me just fan of this team and my pro team is the dallas cowboys . GO MOUNTAINEERS

  • well said, this game meant the world to our state. and Ive never been more proud to be a mountaineer! thanks seniors.

  • Yeah, everybody saw the game buddy. Thanks for your analysis--it was enlightening.

  • paid

  • who won?reply to my comment

  • Everybody loves an underdog.

  • Yes, we stood behind our team! We knew they could do it and they did!!! Go Mountaineers!!!

  • i am glad to hear your input

  • Good to hear from you again buddy. Keep it up. If you are really bored sometime - check out my channel.

    Peace

    Dale

  • I wonder if they missed the NFL's rookie of the year, Adrian Peterson? Lulz.

  • im glad your still here rodney.

    keep it real

  • Go Buckeyes! Yaaayyyyy! ;)

    hehehe!

  • West Virginia was on the fast track to the national championship game before a tough loss vs Pittsburgh on the last game of the regular season. Pat White was considered a Heisman candidate for the majority of the year and in addition anyone who follows the Big East knew of Noel Divine and his explosive speed. While they were big underdogs, they were far from outclassed.

  • i didnt keep track of them or oklahoma for that matter,,,but if you saw the pregame show, what i got out of it was that it was gonna be an oklahoma blowout,,,,thanks for commenting,,

  • Yeah, I believe they were ranked in teh top 5 out of the entire country before that loss. very tough loss. I was so happy to see them win last night.

  • Three bowl game wins in the last three years, two of them BCS bowls, and still this team has to fight every second to get respect. They were ranked 2nd when they lost the last game of the regular season, and the "experts" went back to counting them out.

Their fans are often the only ones that know what the Mountaineers are capable of. Oklahoma just learned it the hard way.

  • I DID! As a former resident of WV and a former student of their educational system, I could tell you, firsthand, that those guys fight, play and party hard. I wouldn't be surprise if this video is picked up and linked throughout WV State.

    Great Vid, Mr. Rodney.

  • There ya' go. Thanks for a great year, plus. I bet you thought I would never post a vid, but I did. Of course it's not as good as your vids, no intro or outro...you're the King. It is about life. thanks, Lauren

  • PLEASE,,,,COMMENT AND RATE MY VIDEO,,,thannnnk you,,,,rodney

  • RODNEY.....you have captured the moment....poignant...you words will be taken to the grave of all underdogs and those fighting the stereotypes....God Bless you.....Sam WVU ALum '81 Pittsburgh
