@Deadralord1 because Blizzard are to busy swimming in their cash pools from monthly subscriptions from brainless tards that don't care about variety or originality. Honestly though if you asked Blizzard, they'd probably say because the game was released in 2004, but it was released just after Half Life 2 which has fricken amazing graphics for the time. Really it comes down to laziness, you want a MMO with decent graphics and a developer that cares play this or something like Guild Wars.

@GuitarEchoes I'm sorry? Blizzard employs numerous devs working on a game that doesn't center around 'HEY LOOK I'M PRETTY'. The graphics got a pretty major overhaul in that the entire game world is changing in a couple weeks. The water engine is akin to FarCry, etc. Everything's being polished up. Blizzard is marketing to as many people as possible; not everyone wants a stunning visual game whose only redeeming factor is the aesthetic. Most of us like the game because it's fun, not a grind.

@Deadralord1 Because WoW is bloody old. It was released in 2004, and 'chunk' of the player base may not handle newer graphics. And plus, the graphics have that warcraft feel, so they fit in.

@xX6Eternity9Xx , the character creation is simpel with a reason. because the game has 19 different armour slots. try to design all off the armour for all random body shapes. the game would come out in 2300. by then you can play this game for real (because the apocalyps has allready started then) i can't wait;)

If it has amazing content but hurts your eyes to look at, would you play it? One could make an EPIC story with in depth characters but if they're displayed as stick figures on a green backdrop i'm not gonna play it. that's how i feel looking at this. Its far from stick figures but something graphic doesnt appeal to me. so yea, i'd say base a game on graphics.

The game will cost 50 dollars retail, there will be a more expensive CE with extra stuff and in-game items. No word yet on whether you'll be able to do a digital download of the game.

They said it'll be anywhere from 12.99 to 14.99 a month to play. You'll get the first month free.

It's coming out September 9th, 2009. Open beta will start very soon according to the devs, but it's mostly going to be a stress test.
