  • James Galway said that when he first played with the chieftains he introduced himself and said that he was lead flautist with the London philharmonic ochestra, Matt Molloy replied "Oh yeah"" which brought him back down to earth, still a fantastic musician.(even if he cant play by air as he often says he would love to be able to do)

  • I got to see him perform at the Tokyo Yamaha Music Hall. I was amazed he could play several insturments at one time. A flute, piccolo........

  • @ABOSS302 Many Classical fluteplayers can play piccolo/ alto flute.
