I did crystal meth for about two years. I lost a great job that I held for 8 years. I lost my apartment. My family stopped communicating with me. I lost the respect of a lot of people I knew. I been off that shit for three years and now my life is great again. BUT, things have never been as good as they were before I did meth. That shit is awful STAY AWAY FROM IT!!

ok, ive experimented with almost every drug except for heroin. The first time i tried meth i went on a 5 day 'ride' , it took me about 4 days to recover from the horrific comedown. The thing is, I never acted like thes motherfuckin tweekers. Putting together puzzles and drawing pictures. I dont understand that shit. Ive never been addcted to shit, ever. Dont get me wrong, this is the devil's drug and its trash. I think its more controllable than what most of the addicts make it out to be.
Well, you weren't a "tweaker" then. When I was hooked on it I took a fantasy art book that I had and scanned and copied every picture in it for no reason whatsoever. I had no idea what I was doing.
crack is all in your head addiction. meth takes over your body and mind functions. very different addictions, and crack is much easier to kick than meth, although many are not strong enough. i lived with someone who was a crack addict for almost 7 years and it was one of the saddest things i have ever seen anyone go through, until i saw meth. and as i said before, coke is bad, but meth is evil. you dont need crack to function, but you do need meth.
I beg to differ. I was previously addicted to rock, and that was the hardest things I've ever had to kick. The body withdrawls were almost as bad as the head ones.
I never seemed to get addicted to meth, I tried it and smoked it frequently. But I could always put it down whenever I wanted to for any reason.

i've done ex before laced with meth. my friends see it as no big deal. they don't understand the power drugs hold. thats what worries me.
i didn't fiend at all, although when i lit the torch to blow the glass my hands kept shaking so badly i dropped and broke the first 4 tries. i was kinda surprised of how my body reacted like that, i couldn't control the shaking. but i am over meth, and was over it when i made that video, moreso than most addicts i think. i am grateful for that.
i gained over 60 lbs when i quit the 1st time in 3 months, and then i started smoking it again and never lost the weight. i quit again for good six more months later and it took another 2 years to completely lose the weight. now i am better shape than i ever have been in my life, and i take very good care of my body, both in diet, exercise, work and my favorite "alone time with nature" :). i have a blog on myspace about how i lost the weight check it out (same username as here)

Also methanol isn't a drug that people use. Sure, you could take it, but then again you could also inhale some bleach. It's an extremely toxic substance, but it's legal because there is nobody who is enough of an idiot to drink it.

I don't know a great deal about this drug but in other videos I've seen users often seem to have big red sores on their faces and bodies. Well I'm really glad you made this video. And no it's not exaggerated at all. Meth is a part of hell that got on earth. My parents started meth when i was 10 and I'm 19. My dad beat me and my sister and my mama. He scared us all to death. He held guns to our heads when we were little kids. The recovery rate of heroin is 9 times greater than that of meth. I know the suffering is just as bad, or worse, and it doesn't go away after a week, like with heroin. It takes sometimes years for the brain to recover. Meth is the only drug that actually changes how the brain functions.

Well i think she made a wonderful decision. One that not many can take, i'm proud of her even though i don't know her. But i hope she lives her life to the fullest, nothing happens to us for no reason. Maybe she was sent on this earth to help people and i'm pretty sure God appreciates her.

The fact is that while we recover from this seemingly hopeless state of mind and body, we are never cured. That is the difference. While I am a recovered alcoholic/addict, I am not cured of alcoholism/addiction.

Chit affects us all differently. Trust me. I've been doing it for a while, and it doesn't affect me like it does all my buddies. I can live with out, but I love ta smoke it. I can't stay up for weeks at a time, because I jus start feeling like shit. It makes me feel confident, and sexy, and like I can take over the world. I've had bad encounters, I'll never try manufacturin again, I'll stick to bein a customer. Chit is not for everyone, I can smoke chit an live a normal everyday life.

I did pluck the hair out of my own head, leaving a huge bald spot, lost an eyebrow, took a razor blade to my arm and cut a piece of it out, sliced up my stomach, and even removed a couple of moles all with the help of meth. Lost basic motor control, lost the ability to think & act rationally. Lost my beauty, myself, and almost my life.

the chemicals in meth have a similar reaction to the body as the medications for HIV do, they cause blisters to form on the skin, combined with acute awareness of these malformities, can be disastrous. I would literally try to cut them out of my skin with a razor blade and pair of tweezers. Until my skin was scarred with scabs. Some from chemicals, some from my own craziness, but all due to meth. i even tried to remove moles from my skin, which btw grew back oddly enough.

Usually it was a few times during the week, and on most weekends. I was using for roughly 1 1/2 years, moreso on and off however after about 6 months. After seeing what it was doing to me and what it had done to a good friend of mine that I grew up with. He's been addicted to crystal meth for 4 years now and he uses every day going on binges of 7-14 days without sleep. He injects, smokes it, snorts it, free bases it, or whatever else he can do to get this high.
I really admire your willpower to quit this addiction that was haunting you for so long. I'm only 18 years old, but I too used to be a user of crystal meth.The first time I didn't like it really, and after the second time it became more fun and I started to treat it like any other recreational drug or pot rather. I saw it a couple of places (between 6-8 % the most, one site said 17%), this was also in 2005, when the purity of meth was still @ 99%+ and almost impossible to quit.
I don't know how pure it really is now, but from what I have heard it is going downhill really fast, which is good in a sense because the less pure meth is, the easier it is to quit.
A simple explanation would be a mix between chemical reaction in the body & extreme attention to those reactions. I would sometimes cut pieces of my skin out in order to get rid of them or moles or any other "imperfection" and then I was left with bloody messy scars instead, which I would often try to remove as well. I got meth sores pretty bad, some people get none, some get them much worse. It all depends on how your body reacts.

i tried meth once a few months ago, there's a lot of it down here in texas and I'm always around it. It was a fun experience I'm not gonna lie. I don't want to do it again. I don't feel drawn to it. The biggest scientific difference between addiction to meth/coke comes from the stimulation of the dopamine receptors in the brain. Coke forces somewhere between 200-300 times the dopamine than normal rewarding activity, for a short period of time, while Meth produces anywhere between 900-1500+ times the normal levels, over the course of anywhere between 12-15 hours, essentially draining the brain of dopamine all at once.
I wouldn't wish meth addiction on my worst enemy. It was living hell.
mcdanie5' you are right pot doesnt do this to you.But,in some cases there is someone in that pot smoking crowd that doesnt just smoke pot.That could lead to other things if your not careful.Take it from someone who started off smoking pot and ended with 15 years of meth addiction.Get some insite on where drugs can lead you.If your not on your toes it can lump together.Pot never kept me on my toes.

I always told myself cannabis was my border, had some friends who have been addicted to speed, so i saw enough bad examples.
I did some reading and surfing about meth and came to the conclusion that it IS the most dangerous and uncontrollable drug ever

crack is all in your head addiction. meth takes over your body and mind functions. very different addictions, and crack is much easier to kick than meth, although many are not strong enough. i lived with someone who was a crack addict for almost 7 years and it was one of the saddest things i have ever seen anyone go through, until i saw meth. and as i said before, coke is bad, but meth is evil. you dont need crack to function, but you do need meth.

I beg to differ. I was previously addicted to rock, and that was the hardest things I've ever had to kick. The body withdrawls were almost as bad as the head ones.
I never seemed to get addicted to meth, I tried it and smoked it frequently. But I could always put it down whenever I wanted to for any reason.

i didn't fiend at all, although when i lit the torch to blow the glass my hands kept shaking so badly i dropped and broke the first 4 tries. i was kinda surprised of how my body reacted like that, i couldn't control the shaking. but i am over meth, and was over it when i made that video, moreso than most addicts i think. i am grateful for that.

i gained over 60 lbs when i quit the 1st time in 3 months, and then i started smoking it again and never lost the weight. i quit again for good six more months later and it took another 2 years to completely lose the weight. now i am better shape than i ever have been in my life, and i take very good care of my body, both in diet, exercise, work and my favorite "alone time with nature" :). i have a blog on myspace about how i lost the weight check it out (same username as here)

I used California Dreamin because I moved to San Diego & was a meth addict from the day I got there until the day I left. The images of the beautiful home at the end was where I lived for most of the time I was there & I wouldn't even come out of our garage. From the moment I thought of doing this as a project, I knew that song was what I wanted to use. Well I'm really glad you made this video. And no it's not exaggerated at all. Meth is a part of hell that got on earth. My parents started meth when i was 10 and I'm 19. My dad beat me and my sister and my mama. He scared us all to death. He held guns to our heads when we were little kids. And my mom and I were best friends until I found out she was doing the same thing as my dad. Thank you for posting this. And I'm glad you got away from meth. I know it's hard. The recovery rate of heroin is 9 times greater than that of meth. I know the suffering is just as bad, or worse, and it doesn't go away after a week, like with heroin. It takes sometimes years for the brain to recover. Meth is the only drug that actually changes how the brain functions.

If you read a big blue book "Alcoholics Anonymous", you will see that the words recover, and recovered are mentioned throughout. The fact is that while we recover from this seemingly hopeless state of mind and body, we are never cured. That is the difference. While I am a recovered alcoholic/addict, I am not cured of alcoholism/addiction.

And although I greatly Admire AA & NA for all the help they offer people, I do not believe addiction is a preset mold.
Everybody is different.
I have had drugs right in front of my face, and haven't batted an eye towards them.
My desire to do drugs has been lost.
I educated myself too much to ever go back.
I was ignorant before, I know too much now.

Chit affects us all differently. Trust me. I've been doing it for a while, and it doesn't affect me like it does all my buddies. I can live with out, but I love ta smoke it. I can't stay up for weeks at a time, because I jus start feeling like shit. It makes me feel confident, and sexy, and like I can take over the world. I've had bad encounters, I'll never try manufacturin again, I'll stick to bein a customer. Chit is not for everyone, I can smoke chit an live a normal everyday life.

I did pluck the hair out of my own head, leaving a huge bald spot, lost an eyebrow, took a razor blade to my arm and cut a piece of it out, sliced up my stomach, and even removed a couple of moles all with the help of meth. Lost basic motor control, lost the ability to think & act rationally. Lost my beauty, myself, and almost my life.

the chemicals in meth have a similar reaction to the body as the medications for HIV do, they cause blisters to form on the skin, combined with acute awareness of these malformities, can be disastrous. I would literally try to cut them out of my skin with a razor blade and pair of tweezers. Until my skin was scarred with scabs. Some from chemicals, some from my own craziness, but all due to meth. i even tried to remove moles from my skin, which btw grew back oddly enough.

Usually it was a few times during the week, and on most weekends. I was using for roughly 1 1/2 years, moreso on and off however after about 6 months. After seeing what it was doing to me and what it had done to a good friend of mine that I grew up with. He's been addicted to crystal meth for 4 years now and he uses every day going on binges of 7-14 days without sleep. He injects, smokes it, snorts it, free bases it, or whatever else he can do to get this high.

I saw it a couple of places (between 6-8 % the most, one site said 17%), this was also in 2005, when the purity of meth was still @ 99%+ and almost impossible to quit.
I don't know how pure it really is now, but from what I have heard it is going downhill really fast, which is good in a sense because the less pure meth is, the easier it is to quit.

A simple explanation would be a mix between chemical reaction in the body & extreme attention to those reactions. I would sometimes cut pieces of my skin out in order to get rid of them or moles or any other "imperfection" and then I was left with bloody messy scars instead, which I would often try to remove as well. I got meth sores pretty bad, some people get none, some get them much worse. It all depends on how your body reacts.

Hi wikidpissachick, I am a high school kid who is doing some sort of research for a drama competition on preventing teenage to take drugs. After watching this video, I am so touched and felt so sorry for you! However, I am glad that you have quit taking drug!Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. 420witchdoctor, comparing coke to meth is absurd. every single aspect of meth addiction shits all over an addiction to blow.

The biggest scientific difference between addiction to meth/coke comes from the stimulation of the dopamine receptors in the brain. Coke forces somewhere between 200-300 times the dopamine than normal rewarding activity, for a short period of time, while Meth produces anywhere between 900-1500+ times the normal levels, over the course of anywhere between 12-15 hours, essentially draining the brain of dopamine all at once.
I wouldn't wish meth addiction on my worst enemy. It was living hell.

I'm glad pot is legal in Holland and that meth is not that much available. what they call 'speed' here is "amphetamine' not 'methamphetamine'...

mcdanie5' you are right pot doesnt do this to you.But,in some cases there is someone in that pot smoking crowd that doesnt just smoke pot.That could lead to other things if your not careful.Take it from someone who started off smoking pot and ended with 15 years of meth addiction.Get some insite on where drugs can lead you.If your not on your toes it can lump together.Pot never kept me on my toes.
