Eddie Van Halen recorded all the guitar leads on the Love Gun Album and Dynasty. Ace was too fucked up to come to the studio for 3 years.

That guitar solo was so cool!.. I understand Eddie and Alex both payed on the demo versions of Christine Sixteen and Dr Love.

Ace wound up copying the guitar solos Eddie had done so those are supposedly Eddies solos done by Ace on the record.

I remember Eddie stated in a magazine article that they knew hundreds of covers in the club days. That's pretty amazing! If you've ever been in a cover band you know how hard it is to get everyone to agree on playing just a handful of covers. Hundreds? What a band. I'll always love the original Van Halen! This best.

@rocknjerr Eddie said that back then that club owners didn't want to hear anything original, they would book them if they played cover songs. But they would sneak in an original every now and then. So it was a matter of necessity for them to know hundreds.
