I was wondering if you could help me i just upgraded to Adobe Audition CS5 from 3.0 and i use a Audio Technica 2500 usb condenser microphone but for some reason when i try to record i cant hear what im saying into the mic but i can see the meter go up and down when i say something but i cant hear myself i messed around with my asio settings but nothing seem too work so if you could PLEASE make a video tutorial or comment thanks

I appreciate Mikes efforts, but for the pro studio (Radio/TV) production person, it's slower than Cool Edit. I did a comparison of Cool Edit Pro 2.0 vs. CS 5.5 doing a :60 layered production (7 tracks deep). The time to mix-down for Cool Edit was 9 minutes including VO; the time for same using CS 5.5, 21 minutes (had 5.5 for 9 months). Clearly this software was not designed for studio tech's. Solution: By refurbed 32 bit, install Cool Edit (2.0), and move fast again. Adobe just doesn't get it.

Why would they put a base 120bpm on the multitrack if it ha no use, they must have overlooked the new stuffs and forgot about yhe mutitrack stretch function

You'd be like old school cooledit if your going to use edit wabe mode and calculators lol, i noticed the stretch efx lacks functionality, cooledit has more function in time stretching, its going to be hard to use 5.5 to be so exact.

It multicpre support now, but hate to say, you can't remix like audtion 3, they removed clip stretching in mutitrack, sucks, maybe it was only design for premiere only, you can't beat mix different bpms like auditon 3

hey man it'll be really helpful if u can reply to this. im really having a problem with recording vocals on audition. although im using an audio technica at2020 which is a fairly gud mic, im just not getting that 'mic recorded sound'. instead wen i record and playback it feels and sounds like a 'live sound' in which u just KNOW someones singing on the microphone instead of playing

an audio track (hope u know wat im talking about lol). its not about background noise or static noise or echo that gives it away, but rather the 'rawness' of the vocal recording with no muffled sound (muffled in a gud way). i know post touches and mastering makes things better, but im not getting an ' audio track' sound which u get even WITHOUT post touches. HELP :(

@MultiAnonymousman At The Top Left Click Edit and Go To Preferences. Then Audio Hardware. Look At Default Class, If You Don't Have More Then One Option. It Aint Reading Your Interface Driver. I Would Update Your Interface Driver and Restart Your Computer.

@TheHProjectMedia This is what I did for my issue. Go to control panel, click sound. Then go to the stereo speaker properties and go to the advanced tab. Go through all the sound sample rates until it works, mine works at 24bit 48000 Hz Studio Quality. Try that first

Honestly? Nothing deserving the excitement. Adobe has not progressed with any key functionality of the software since they bought the software to get rid of competition and put a very expensive price tag calling it Audition.

Hi Mike, I'm a regular editor on Adobe Audition 3, now I have bought CS 5.5 I actually find it alot more difficult to work with, what seemed easier in Adobe Audition now becomes harder in CS 5.5 such as when you're in edit mode you have to now click on the time frame on the top to go to a specific part in a wave form where as in Adobe Audition 3 you just clicked on the waveform itself to go to a specific part, not very handy when you're editing a voice over session that hasn't been cut down.

@samuelgandara If you're recording with a condenser mic. Check your interface, it may be faulty. Also, try recording closer to the mic (if it is a condenser)
