in the islamic world? or issit just your world? sorry bro.. i dun think so. whats up with d headbanging n holding hands n shouting? sharing of power? i dun think getting into a trance is islamic. u dun feel weird watchin grown men doing this? might as well dance like britney spears n say d shalawat.
so even with a sahih hadith u still question this? Hasya Astarghfirullah. go back to ur Poco Poco dance or rock music then. atleast we are doing something that is reciting salawat. not lost in some magikalzest world. this is why they say, "if one have an issue on shariat, go visit an alim in that field of study. if one have an issue with tassauf, visit an alim in tassauf. for they are more knowledgeable in their field than the other"
this "dancing in circles" is what in the islamic world we call Dzikir Hadrah.

Allâh's Messenger (SAW) asked, "What are they saying?" And they responded, "Muhammadun 'Abdun Sâlih!".(Ahmad ibn Hanbal, al-Musnad (Beirut: Dâr Sâdir), 3:152, #12564)
"I visited the Prophet, SAW, with Ja`far (ibn Abi Talib) and Zayd (ibn Haritha). The Prophet, Allah bless and greet him, said to Zayd: "You are my freedman" (anta mawlay), whereupon Zayd began to hop on one leg around the Prophet (hajala). The Prophet, SAW, then said to Ja`far: "You resemble me in my creation and my manners" (ashbahta khalqi wa- khuluqi), whereupon Ja`far began to hop behind Zayd. ......
