  • He's obviously just a heckler with unresolved issues.

  • I've read the comments and I think the jury is in on this one. A supurb job by all! Anyway even if it isn't PERFECT, that's why it's called PRACTICE. Jessi, a good friend of mine gave me some advice one time,"Don't let anyone steal your joy". You are one of the best singers I have ever heard!

  • @wvwkndr79s thank you! This guy is obviously just not a fan of mine since this isn't the first time he's had something negative to say about my performance, just the first time I've said anything in response. I don't need everyone to like me, but I also don't need my own personal unqualified critic.

  • This was great !!!

  • @jefferyb304 Thanks a bushel, Jeffery.

  • take anotheer listen she throws it all out of wack plain and simple......didn't say anything about her voice ..listen real close the banjo sets the tune up perfect when she starts her lead it kills the timing...slows the drive down puts the song into a slower beat.....

  • @jimricksable I don't know what qualifies you as an expert or what drives you to keep trying to make everyone agree with your opinion. I also don't know why you've made it your personal mission to try and bring me down. I'm not a professional and I've had no professional training. I'm just trying to have a good time and enjoy making music. Your thoughts on the matter have been noted and I would thank you to stop trying to make me feel bad now and in the future.

  • Hi Jessi, I think the song was perfect and the harmomies were awesome. I would be honered to sing with you anyday. Great vocals jessi. Hope ya stop by my channel sometime and give me a listen. Take care! Les

  • @TheLonesomeFugitive Thanks so much!

  • I will admit to not singing the first two lines loud enough and not being as agressive as I maybe should have to begin the song. I still disagree about the timing being off, and I know none of the pickers were thrown off since this is not the first time we've practiced this song. It would've been expected for me to do exactly that since it's the same spot I always start in and also the one designated by the people playing the music.

  • ok I will stop after this......listen closely when the lady starts with the word lonesome.she drags it out throwing the instruments for a loop . They adjust to the slow down caused by her first line or two , Tha banjo did the kick off just right. Thats all I am saying...if you think she doesn't I have to think about how much you actually know.

  • @jimricksable Ah ha! She didn't start with the word "lonesome". She started with "It's a". It's way low, and if you don't hear that then you think she started with the word "lonesome". Even if she had started with the word "lonesome" it wasn't out of time. It just would have been missing the first 2 words. You can assume I don't know much and perhaps you are right. After all I am an amateur. But I do know simple 4/4 timing.

  • @jimricksable for starters, he actually knows about this situation specifically as he was one of the people playing an instrument. What you would have us believe is that you know even better how the musicians felt than the actual musicians playing the song. I would take less offense to you criticizing my voice because that is your opinion, but you are the one wrong about timing, and you are the one wrong to assume the responsibility of my personal critic on this and other songs.

  • WOW. ok the timing is perfect

  • ok.........it was fanstaic !!! great the best ever I have heard !

  • @jimricksable Your sarcasm is what keeps me ticking, Jim. I knew I could drag it out of ya. You are such a musically knowledgeable cuss.

  • my mama always said..if ya don't have nothing good to say, then keep your mouth shut.

    I loved it!

  • @Woodsygirl62 Haha. Well, any time you post a video here you set yourself up to be slammed. Some things are a matter of opinion based on likes, dislikes, and personal taste. Those things I take with a grain of salt. But to make a totally erroneous statement about the timing being off is a different thing. Thank you so much for watching.

  • anyway you listen at it the lead was late coming in .....

  • listen cloe the wat the lead singer stumbles going into the forst line of that song..then the muscians shift to match the slown down. great picking no doubt.

  • doesn't take nothing but the ear to hear the lead lost the timing set up by that great banjo kick off....the voive does not match what he set up......please liosten you wilol hear the brek down of the drive.

  • @jimricksable I have been playing music for 48 years. The music did not shift to compensate for anything. The timing was not off. As I said before constructive criticism is a great thing, but it has to be done from an educated source or it's just useless rambling. If you think the timing is off then it's obvious you have timing issues. I still appreciate you for listening, but to debate with you about timing is futile.

  • @jimricksable I will have to stick with the lead voice upsettin th timing of her banjo ......

  • jimricksable must be a professionlal music critic considering the fact that's all this person seems to be doing on every comment I've seen him make...criticizing. The odd part is, in my mission to be better, I've re-listened to the songs with his comments in mind and have come to the conclusion he doesn't have any kind of musical talent whatsoever and is just a negative person trying to make others feel bad...sorry if that sounds harsh.

  • @JessiShumate You are right. If he thinks the timing is off then he knows nothing at all about timing. I don't mind constructive criticism, but it has to be from someone who knows what they're talking about.

  • @cathead77 Hey, Alan, I liked it! I don't have but a few videos, and only one of my own it, , the others are mirrors.. but I looked up this guy's channel...he has 1 video, not even under his name, ?? is he in a band? does he play an instrument? some people are doers, some just sit around critizing..guess we all gotta have somethin we're good at..ya'll are real good at singin and pickin, nuf said!

  • not to be mean please forgive me if it does sound harh ...The lead singer broke time when she started singing and destroyed the time setting of tjhe banjo . All drive was cut when she started sing.

  • @jimricksable Haha....you're funny. You need to get you a metronome. Thanks for watching and for the humor.

  • Yeah Alan I like the sound of this much better than those video camera's!! Cant wait to hear sum more!! Love the bass & harmonies on this one, Ron and Charlie needed to be a little more in front, but great sound anyways!

  • @rb4banjo Yep. Next time we'll place them accordingly.

  • Sounds wonderful - better than practice Alan - Loved it. Love the song. Thanks for sharing. Gwen

  • @cadjunk Thank you much.
